There are three signs of old age. The first is your loss of memory, the other two I forget.

Hi B.J. Lovely Fuschias, They look very similar variety's to mine. Were they T&M's Giant trailing 'spring offer' by chance?

Hi big ben, I too love fuschia's a few years ago i had over 108 varieties' I know over the top! but I couldn't control the white fly tried everything, the biggest prob was storing in winter doesan't matter what I did i couldn't control the dam things, disinfected the g/h, changed the compost to down size for winter. In the end i gave up and now only got about 10 anyone else had a prob like this, and found any cures.

Whitefly is a problem with fuschias. I do spray once or twice with a systemic product and find this does the job. Not organic I know but nothing else seems to work.

I have a few photos here.  I was trying to take pictures of bees entering the flowers, not very successful

I have just been given a large planter - and want to purchase a bush variety / maybe two.  How much looking after do they need.  never grown one before.

Very little looking after. Regular deadheading to keep it flowering. I feed with tomato fertilizer. They prefer not to be in full sun. Dont let compost dry out but dont overwater either. Watch out for whitefly.
Hardy plants can be left out all winter but leave the leaves and branches on till they start to shoot in the spring, then cut back and protect new growth from frosts.

I have just tried a new climbing one called Lady Boothby and its about 7 foot high already and very pretty, supposed to be hardy as well. Try this link. I will try to take a photo of mine tomorrow and post it up. My favourite trailing one is Cecile- beautifull followed closely by Snowburner.
