Does anyone else have a passion for Cacti :?:  If so please post some pictures.

I love all the different shapes and sizes and beautiful flowers as well sometimes

There are three signs of old age. The first is your loss of memory, the other two I forget.

Heres a few of mine. Unfortunatley I don't have all of them now. I needed the greenhouse space for something more productive. If I ever win the lottery I will buy a greenhouse just for cacti.

Sets a low standard and fails to achieve it.

They are gorgeous
I grow mine in a porch with windows on 3 sides but have run out of space on the window sills. Would love a greenhouse just for cacti.

A couple of years ago I made the decision to only collect Echinopsis hybrids. So far I have got a grand total of none. They are not easy to track down in this country and you will never see them in a garden centre.

The link is to an American site, but it gives you an idea of how beautiful they are.

Here is a photo of one of my cactus flowering last summer. It came with the garden and I don't know what sort it is. Can anyone tell me.  It stands about 4 foot tall.

I'd like to create a small cactus garden in due course. Has anyone visited the cactus garden on Lanzarote?

The flowers only last a day.

Dawn from a very very wet Spain - wettest Spring since 1871. Pouring with rain again today - started about 3pm yesterday and hasn't stopped yet!

I love cacti! It's great to find some other enthusiasts! I have about 12 at home on my window ledges - in a two-bed flat! I bought one five years ago. It was part of a display of five and was only about 10 cms tall. It is now over 60 inches tall and in a couple of weeks time will hit the top of the window so I'm going to have to move it somewhere else!

Great collections! :) I love cacti but don't have any at the moment. we had 3 tiddlers that GREW in our loo.. lol they are re-homed to a friend :)

And a 'cowboy' style one, that we had in a bucket sized pot.. that GREW too.. and was re-homed to a relative who didn't have kids :) was fine with little but the girls kept catching themselves on it.

I still have a massive money plant though.. not a cacti but still  and orchid that goes strong.

Sorry this one is not all neat & tidy like yours, but it's my pet one!

Used to grow quite a few when I were a lad, but somehow eatable stuff has taken over.

Anyway, I bought this one on the first holiday, (after our honeymoon!) that Mrs. DD. & I went on.

Got it from the Southampton show in 1977, when it was but a pup!

It's now about 18" high, in ned of a re-pot & a brush up.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
