My fav house plant i grew from seed has got to be my bird of paradise (6 yrs old this yr)

The story behind my African Violet was i was in Wyevale and this lil brat of a kid snapped a leaf off, so me being me stuck it in my pocket till i got bak to the car, then had a lil food bag, placed it in there until i got hm and tried to get it to root.. from a lil shabby leaf it now looks like this;

My only houseplants are my cacti and succulents.
Echveria (baby picture and somewhat current photo)

My monster cactus from a little ikea 3pack of cacti... It was about 2 inches tall in a 1inch diameter pot when I bought it about 2-3 years ago. It's now over 9inches tall.

Aloe Ferox (Cape Aloe)

I have a few others but I can post them later... black aeonium, a few unidentified cacti, a Christmas cactus I grew from a few cuttings from my inlaws. I'm not really allowed any more cacti or succulents because they're all doing too well. I'll really run out of room for them all soon.
wistfully hoping to one day be mostly organic gardener in North London.

Chris has a fascination with cacti and succulents - I have bought him a total of about 6 and he has killed them all!!!  I think that he overwaters them!  Poor little plants!

We can´t keep house plants here, I had no problem with them in the UK.  In the winter we heat by butano´bottled gas´ so it isn´t too good for plants.  I bought a hoya plant, it is now looking the worse for wear and it´ll not be moving with us on Tuesday.  I´ve even had my aloe vera plant have bits rot and I only water that about once a month!! :shock:  :cry:
