Title: It's only taken 14 years...
Post by: yorkiegal on September 01, 2014, 23:17
but the pensioners in the flat above mine have finally relaxed their iron grip on the communal garden.  No longer does it have 50 different themes of cemented in statues / plastic animals/ fake flowers and various bits of tat they've got from the car boot sale. The solar lights have been given away and I don't have to worry about my back garden being mistaken for a landing strip.  I have been offered a space to grow my own veg!

I'm still keeping the allotment but now I have space for those veg like tomatoes which need daily watering. The only downside will no doubt be the constant advice shouted down at me from their living room window lol. I think it was the weekly supply of runner beans and courgettes I brought them from the plot this year which finally persuaded them.

I need to do some skip diving and find me some timber for raised beds now. I'm so happy. I haven't been able to put so much as a plant pot out there all this time without being grumbled at. Thank heavens for heart disease and arthritis which has made gardening so difficult. (ok i don't really mean that bit)
