a new allotment plot allocated to my son had an old currant bush, we have let it remain and you can now see the currants appear. We notice they are white currants, have not grown them before so any advise would be appreciated.

Mine all look White at the moment but they are actually black and red so don't count on them being White.

Nothing to them keep them weed free and leave alone. Even I can grow them so they can't be hard

I have all three currants, red black and white.  Reading up about the white, 'they' recon that they were only used to bulk out dishes made from the other two coloures of currants.

How big are they now. They should be a nice plump size mine are not ready yet.

Mine ripen around the same time as the reds. Taste one to determine. Whites are sweeter, and smaller than reds. As Klefti says,  more often they're used to bulk out the other currants since they're also very prolific.
