I am going to buy some debris netting but which colour makes the plants grow best ?

I've just bought some green netting and it blends in well with the surroundings.  I would imagine the colour doesn't make that much difference.  Perhaps black may be a little darker though?

I used some today and watched the tiny white fly go straight through the mesh , hopefully that is all that gets through.

Checked the debris netting today and large flies are trying to get out !!! Are they getting in through the eyelets ?

I'd have thought so, I use it and have even had a cabbage white trying to get out (but hadn't layed any eggs surprisingly). I was told to use Duct tape over the eyelets to stop this but I'm lazy at times. Otherwise, my brassicas have been great using Debris netting.

Hubbys pub is having the roof done and the scaffolding has just gone up... looking forward to 'disposing' the debris netting for them when they've done!!! 

Is it true it can only be used once under H&S laws?

PS... (I already have 4 scaffold boards in the beers cellar which I'm sure I can put to good use!  )

you just found what is not so good about debris netting, its great for the flying rats and cabbage whites. However it also keeps out the ladybirds and hoverflies which feed on aphids.
