Lazy little guy has been hunkering down on the floor of the coop and he had a very mucky bottom today. I was worried about fly strike, so the disposable gloves and a bucket of water were deployed, much to his disgust.
He doesn't like being handled so he was shaking like a leaf. I got it done as quickly as possible and let him go, but he's been keeping a garden length of distance between me and him all afternoon.
He's gone back in his run now and is still sulking. An offer of a grape through the mesh was spurned. He's turning his back on me every time I go near and refusing to make eye contact ::)
Guess I'd better think of some better treats tomorrow ;) Alternative perching options have been supplied for tonight, so hopefully he will keep himself clean ::) If I have to do it again to him, my name will be mud for days

Better your name than his bottom ::)

True
I've just never seen a chicken so openly sulk about something. Usually they forget in 5 minutes and come running for treats if they are offered

He is a bit of a drama queen, but I do hope he wasn't hunkering down 'cos he felt poorly

He's fine ;) He had a broody girl and was getting under her. Course she was holding it in keeping her nest clean, but he was doing the usual chicken trick of being a poo making machine ::) She's given up now so he was perched last night as usual.
Oh and he's forgiven me ............ just
