Title: Broad beans in the polytunnel
Post by: Lady Rosemary on November 06, 2011, 20:58
Hello

Could somebody please advise me if I need to cover my broad beans over the winter in my polytunnel with fleece or similar? It's my first winter using the tunnel and I'd like to try a few things over winter.  :)

They usually manage outside unprotected, so they won't need covering inside a tunnel  ;)

I have a similar question...  I have had to cover mine with a fleece to stop the birds pulling them out...  will this affect their growth?  Do I have to do anything sch as extra water  etc ?

I was intending to take the fleece off when they get established... is this right?
