Chickens having a shower

I'm not sure there will be an answer to my question, but I thought I try just incase.

In light rain my three ex-batts will continue foraging;if it gets heavy they will generally shelter.  Yesterday there was a heavy downpour after the very hot day.  My three chickens just stood stock-still, in a line getting wet through -  I couldn't tell if they were enjoying it or not.

Were they having a shower because they were hot or were they just being daft chickens?

Yea there is no point trying to second guess instinct.

Just go with the theory that they are enjoying it or not noticing it because if it was anything but that, they would have moved!
