Pulled some of the Germidour garlic which I planted last Sept to discover some had white rot, 2 of 5 pulled up were ruined, one had a few dodgy cloves, and two were perfect.

My neighbours have said white rot was present on site but now Im wondering if I should take the whole row out? I have 6 rows of shallots and garlic, are they all doomed?

It's hard to say, because if we get a dryish year some will grow big enough to use, although the may not store well unless you freeze them. You won't know unless you try.

See what happens for the rest of the year. You can grow white rot resistant onions, shallots and garlic if you buy right. Known problem around here and those with the problem do get round it. Costs a bit more mind.
