Can purple sprouting brocolli leaves be eaten ?

Anyone tried this ? Do they taste anything like spring cabbage ?

Also, with my leeks I'm cooking the whole thing, I didn't earth them up so most of the leek is folliage rather than white stem. I assume there's nothing wrong with that.

I've been eating them for a few years now, and I'm not dead yet ..... not sure at the effect on the brain though :roll:

I pretty much chop up and use all the leek

absolutly its a treat you should use when ya pick ya sprouters.and then use all the leaves except the lower tough ones .feed them to ya chucks if ya have any. for fresh leaves when ya plants finished with florets just cut down to about 3 inch from the base and wait for new gren growth .. eat this werks same with cabbage stumps

I haven't had any sprouts from the plant yet, i think I may need to be more patient.

I was given the plants so gave them a go even tho we don't really eat purple sprouting broccoli !

This was my first year growing veg and I shall be sticking to stuff we actually eat next year :roll:
