Could you identify this animal please

We have set up a wildlife camera, and have had this photograph. it doesn't seem to have the shape of a rat, and to big for a mouse, just wondered about your thoughts

At first glance I'd say it's cat-shaped

Maybe a weasel or stoat?
It would be easier from the front angle.
one of them has a black ring mark on its tail but don't remember which one for sure.(weasel i think)

Our lass had been looking at images, and weasel was the best match. A full frontal would have been good, but this creature was fast, there is a second between frames, the photo at the top caught it the animal one second, the next frame a second later was empty.

Baberdicy DL-1 - Digital Trail Camera - Hunting Camera

funnily enough, have had the camera for over a year, well before the allotments, it was due to the fact that no matter how many times we swept or tidied the front drive, random nails would appear which seemed so easy to see, which weren't there earlier, suspicion being the neighbour. So was going to set it for that, but needed a memory card, which took the year to buy. I don't do things at speed. Anyway, we have the allotment, and so catching wildlife seemed better than catching the neighbour.

As for ease of use, as with most blokes, i don't bother with instructions, so still to find all the correct settings, at some point I will look through them, as I need to know how to set video, and the brightness is too bright at night, so anything caught can't be seen. Forgot the price, but it couldn't have been too much as I am tight.

I'd stake a few quid on that being a weasel. The tight rat like tail and the brown colouring, plus the long bodyshape with the thick backside muscles all like a weasel to me.

Stoats have long tails, weasels have very short tails...

Possibly the former?

Having just now looked at lots of pictures of weasels, I agree with you P1P.  :D

We captured some more photographs, and from a better angle, it was a weasel
