Howard 400 data
« on: December 14, 2020, 15:08 »
Since service manuals are as common as hen's teeth, I ask if someone can advise on setting up the clutch? Specifically,

1. how tight are the clutch plates tightened, by spring compression length, or torque?

2. The central nut; how tight before the split pin is added?, and any other useful advise would be appreciated, or names for further information.

Many thanks.

Thank you for that. Mr Child can help with Kohler engines but not the Howard.  However he suggested Mr Parvit at Howard Rotavator spares, who advised that the Howard 400 is similar to the Howard Gem and he has manuals on the site. Very Helpful. To admin - trying to find rules to confirm this complies but unsuccessful.
