Did any one get any storm damage?, we did
« on: February 09, 2020, 14:32 »
Well they did say it was going to be windy and it was, we have some tiles that are moving down the roof, and yes our solid very heavy Rhino greenhouse weighing at a 400kg when put together the side got blown out, the area where the ventilation is blow out and all the glass with it, none of the glass broke, its going to take some bending back.
but Rhino say the are guaranteed for 25yrs, but what is guaranteed? I am waiting to find out tomorrow.
I took pics of the damage, not sure if pictures have come out.

Fence panel abandoned us and moved in with neighbours over the road.  Garden ornament i did not like now in bits.  Bird table has moved to a flower bed,  all in all not too bad.

Don't think it's going to be repairable. Don't tell the family who bought it that I shan't cry as I still have 2 allotments and can do some tomatoes outdoors.

Don't cry, Christine!

It'll all go back as the frame looks just fine!

Might need a few more clips from B and Q , but you can do it!

Bummer though...:0'

Various water butts and mini greenhouses are not where I left them, but on the whole ok so far. I’m just crossing my fingers the back fence survives. The previous owners planted some boring climber up it, which is heavy and I neglected to cut it back (because I don’t like it and the garden is so impossible to work here) so the rickety fence is rather burdened, and looks a bit more saggy than it did yesterday. I’m planning on replacing it with a wall, but not next week!

Unfortunately looking closely there are a few bits of frame snapped at the joints. And a few bits of poly carbonate are missing. Have the clips.

Rubbish everywhere thanks to the bins deciding to shuffle off down the drive. Spare bungee cords to the rescue to hold the lids down. The bird table fell over but is intact. That was all for us.

A board in the neighbours fence came off at the top so we put 2 bungee cords to hold it in place to stop it coming off at the bottom and got a message to the adult children about it needing fixed. They made off with the bungee cords. Bit annoyed we asked them to chuck it the 1m over our fence to return them. Since the sale goes through tomorrow we figured they'd be busy and we saved them aggro from the buyer twice over now. The first time was from flooding from the hot water tank.

Looks like Growster was right about the greenhouse frame. One of the minions (son-in-law) popped round this morning, collected all the poly carbonate that was around (said we'd have to replace 2 or maybe 3 panels) and took the pile to safe storage for now. He's managed to renovate the frame and we'll see if it stands for the next few windy days with no panels in. Didn't take him too long. We may well be able to grow tomatoes this season in a greenhouse then.

I have been in touch with Rhino greenhouses, all they said was its an extreme storm we can supply the parts you need.
There guarantee only covers staging and the paint, it does not cover storm damage.
The weather is still to bad to work on the damaged parts, i have moved the planted  bagged seed spuds to the porch so they are out of the weather and the cold temperatures. :(

Good news, Christine!

Well done that minion, and I hope it all works!
