We have opted to grow a few kinds of sunflower this year.
We an unknown type that my daughter got as a freebie. Plus a dwarf with a normal sunflower head and Teddy bear. We spotted Teddy bear when watching The allotment challenge and decided that we must grow some straight away!

What are your favorite sunflowers?

I've been given 'Sunzilla' from the real seed company this year, so will be interested to see just how high it grows!

I usually prefer the multi-headed ones, as they give so many flowers with so little trouble.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

We grew Russian Giant a few years ago. They were really big and we had around ten of them. Afterwards the stems were rather big for the compost heap. This year we are growing a few of them again, as well as a variety called Big Smile, which is a dwarf variety. I am quite looking forward to see how they all will do.

I grew little leo last year it only grows to 2 1/2 feet, I had one that had 14 heads on it and it fits great into a florist bucket.  :)

I have also chosen to grow Teddy Bear this year because of the Allotment Challenge.  I don't have a favourite though.

I'm growing the RHS mixed varieties to go on the allotment site, near the entrance.  It's also practically on the Tour de France route so combining 2 different 'yellow flower' celebration events  :D

I also like the multi headed ones, as they provide masses of flowers to cut. This year I have sown Harlequin. Last year I grew Velvet Queen and Little Lemon.

Found this picture of Little Lemon
