Cauliflower - splitting apart ?
« on: September 17, 2008, 13:33 »
OK, my cauliflower (which are not supposed to be ready till November/December according to the packet), were looking lovely and altogether a few weeks ago (still not very big, but quite an average size).  however I went down at the weekend and they now appear to have split up and gone all leggy and not very together like a cauliflower should be.  Should I have picked them when they were smaller ?  How can I stop them doing that ?  And can I still use them even though they are now all spaced out ?

cauliflower cheese hides all the blemish...

They are running to seed I guess, sowing time is one minor factor, the bigger player being the weather, ah!
