Feeding ducklings
« on: May 22, 2011, 15:18 »
Hi all,   I have been reading and surfing for info for hours now, can someone here please help?  Our call ducklings are 2 weeks old and feeding on chick crumb, when should we change it to growers/rearers.  Some places say after 2 weeks, others 6 weeks and some 3 months so I'm totally confused now
Thanks
3 dogs now, 2 passed RIP Poppy and Paige, one wonderful husband and a new adventure on this wonderful island

I'm sorry I don't know but do ensure that the chick crumb you feed does NOT contain ACS as it is bad for ducks. :)
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

Hi Kathie, I have Miniature Appleyards and I tend to start mine on growers around 4/5 weeks.  I don't think there are any hard and fast rules on this, but I would say that 2 weeks is probably a bit soon.  Hope that helps.
