Dull, cold but not icy and freezing thank goodness.
-
We had a cold night and a frost again. Now it is pretty grey and not warming up that much. It did have a feeble attempt at snowing earlier on, but it was not even enough to call it snizzle (the snow equivalent of drizzle)
-
Grey and gloomy but no frost.
-
Thick freezing fog, I've lost the other end of the garden! Got to go out later which I'm not looking forward to.
-
Grey and gloomy but no frost.
Same here ;)
-
Same here as well.
-
Bitterly cold and grey :)
-
Just had some real snow on top of this last week's mix.
-
Grey and gloomy but no frost.
Same here ;)
Same again ;)
-
We only had a bit of frost yesterday on the cars, but it was pretty grey all day. Milder shade of grey today and that is about the best I can say for it.
Still dull - less cold ::)
-
Temp dipped just below zero overnight in the greenhouse and 2C outside now, with some pale blue patches in the sky. Dead calm.
-
It froze, it snowed, it froze, it sort of thawed then it rained overnight and now. We have a thick layer of black ice. Glad to be housebound.
-
It thawed a bit overnight and this morning but will freeze over tonight. Brrrr! :nowink:
-
NE winds blowing, raining all day, very grey and not going above 3c
-
Currently 33 degrees Fahrenheit or 1 degree Celsius. Cloudy, gray, depressing, but most of the snow melted from the New Years ice storm. I might go outside for a walk soon, though. It actually has been a pretty reasonable winter so far.
-
Heavy grey sky and it only stopped raining for a few minutes while I was eating lunch ::)
I was hoping to get a walk round the block, at least, without getting soaked like I did yesterday :(
-
Very grey, but no rain, NE winds, 3c feels like -1c. Just been for a walk round village, very taters.
-
Bitterly cold today :)
-
It's STILL raining :( It feels milder, but I haven't been out to check the thermometers, because the path is flooded again *sigh*
-
Blue sky and weak sunshine :) Pretty calm but cold - sitting at 1ºC out there.
-
Grey and damp here, but feels better as the wind has now gone.
We are promised sun this afternoon, but it doesn’t look that hopeful at the moment.
-
Warmer than yesterday but still chilly. Occasional sleety drizzle today. Am looking forward to the weekend when it is supposed to warm up.
-
Very cold again, we've still got patches of last week's snow lurking around.
-
It's already -3.6ºC out there, and falling. Fire loaded up to go down slowly tonight and the central heating set to come on for an hour at 3am. Very think insulation in the loft is good but the thick solid stone walls are not efficient insulation. Oh for a cavity wall with insulation. Still, we got through -15ºC in 2010 so this should be a doddle.
-
Hope you're not frozen in John
Here, it is just above freezing so could open the greenhouse doors :) Low was -0.3C and outside now it is +0.3C ::)
Forecast is for it to stay much the same, but the nice Meridian weather lady did promise me some sunshine today ::) :nowink: we'll see .....
-
Heavy frost last night, one of thise mornings where the neighbours are all having to scrape their car windscreens before leaving for work!
-
Heavy frost last night, one of thise mornings where the neighbours are all having to scrape their car windscreens before leaving for work!
I remember those days when people used to go to work :)
Lovely to look at outside, blue skies with some cloud. Twinkly frost reflecting light, Calm but very chilly at -1ºC
-
Lovely clear blues and sunny. Started off -4 currently -1 and barely a breeze.

You'd be suprised at just how many still have to go to work to keep the country running John!
-
It's warmed up to +2ºC now - and wet snow is falling. Son in law was having a coffee break and just remembered the electric chainsaw was out and connected.
-
-5 at the back of the house.
-
Hovering slightly above freezing with light showers of wet snow falling, sticking in places. Bit grim :(
-
Same as John really.
-
It's warmed up a touch today after yesterdays heavy frost. The two pics were taken around 7pm last night.
-
Grey and misty, which is an improvement on the heavy freezing fog that enveloped the whole of yesterday.
-
-1c but the sun was out, now it has gone and replaced by freezing fog, how can it be fog with the wind blowing ?
-
Bright outside this morning, dusting of snow on the ground. About -3ºC Blue sky with a white contrail high up heading east.
-
Anyone who wants to open their car in the road this morning will need the full complement of de-icing tricks. It's cold and decidedly below freezing by some long way.
-
freezing fog and cold everything looks damp and frosty not a day for gardening went into the tool shed couldn't get my head round anything to darn cold so I'm back indoors
-
Earlier on it was -3⁰c with not a breath of wind, it warmed up now to 1⁰c. My shed has heating has been on 17⁰c all week, this morning it was just under 14⁰c!
-
Really hard frost last night, i can not tell you what it went down to as the greenhouse door is frozen up
-
It's warmed up a bit here. +3ºC and snow's melting fast. Grey and damp out there.
-
Really hard frost last night, i can not tell you what it went down to as the greenhouse door is frozen up
Same here
Frost just beginning to melt off the greenhouse, overnight low inside was -4C Brrrrr!
-
Woke up to see grey skies and all the snow gone.
-
So freezing here this morning, pretty but ..... Haven't ventured out to look at anything. Oh yes, took bin out and a few crumbs for the birds.
-
A little warmer today but very damp and miserable.
-
Freezing cold most of the day, still sub zero beyond midday, and very dull (again). Last cold day before milder air moves in tomorrow, still with sunshine rationing.
-
Little breeze, heavy skies but warmer than recently at 6ºC
Too damp to use the electric chain saw on the fallen tree :(
-
It's warmer here as well, with low, grey cloud and occasional drizzle, so still doesn't tempt me out for a walk - much as I need the exercise ::)
-
Same as MOS.
-
Paths wet, cold at 5ºC but a blue sky with sunshine :)
-
A mild night, 6C in the greenhouse, 8C outside now, but grey and it hasn't stopped raining since I got up *sigh*
The weather atm, really isn't helping my vitamin D level ::)
-
Warmer but damp and miserable ;)
-
The weather atm, really isn't helping my vitamin D level ::)
I have osteoporosis and have Vit D3 on prescription for it. I also have to have an infusion annually. We need loads of sun. :( Mrs B
-
Cold damp and miserable here as well . Can't understand the amount of people that feel they need to go surfing or paddle boarding off Compton though, the sea must be freezing.
-
It's 3C grey, misty/drizzly again, in the g/house it is 4C (overnight low of -0.5C) :(
-
8ºC here, bit wet and very grey. The clouds have come down and we own as far as the eye can see! Which isn't very far :)
-
Grey and wet here. Feels chilly, but that might just be me looking at the rain and thinking it is worse than it is
-
Rain, low cloud very grey & miserable, still got to go to the chickens yet!
-
Pouring down :(
-
Pouring down :(
Same here pffft
-
Pouring down :(
Us too :(
-
1 degree and snowing quite fast.
-
No Snow, but it is cold, wet, windy and grey.
-
Been snowing here since 0800 this morning - only a couple of inches but forecast to be a cold night so could be treacherous in the morning... :(
-
Just got a few leeks up - fingers are freezing! Breeze driving heavy drizzle in my face and it feels a lot colder than the 6ºC the thermometer says.
-
Cold, wet and miserable here too. The sky went really dark earlier this afternoon and we thought 'here we go' but nothing happened (fortunately). We've had big blobs, drizzle and everything in between. The roofers are supposedly working for us tomorrow but how they can remove tiles from the gully and then re-lead and replace the tiles remains to be seen.
-
Snow, drizzle started a thaw and then it's frozen.
-
Chilly, just a degree below freezing this morning. Calm and dry. Much better than we've had recently :)
-
Cold here with frost on the roof tiles and cars, but dry :)
It is overcast, but high thin cloud, rather than low looming ones full of rain.
-
It is overcast, but high thin cloud, rather than low looming ones full of rain.
Same here 3C now, with a low of 1C in the greenhouse.
-
Fine today, but with the temperature still only just above freezing I don't think the lying snow from yesterday is going to thaw much today:
-
After a stormy night, it's a lot warmer out there at 6ºC. Very calm but damp. Still, no rain predicted for the rest of the day.
-
We had snow overnight, but as the temperature rose to 2C it turned to rain (again) that has washed the snow away.
So at least the path is now flooded with water rather than being a sheet of ice
"Always look on the bight side of life, ta da ....." If you can ;)
-
I spotted the remains of wet snow in some plant pots this morning, but just raining, cold and grey now ::)
-
It poured all morning but now the sun has come out we've just had our walk and it was quite pleasant in the sunshine :D
-
It brightened up here as well and we got some sun 8)
You could feel the warmth of it as well. Unfortunately it triggered some seed sowing of peppers and aubergines  :nowink:
-
A low of -1.5C overnight, 6C outside now. It's calm this morning, with few sunny breaks in the cloud, so I'm off, out for a walk while I can ;)
-
It stayed above 5C in the greenhouse, last night.
9C outside now, but grey and drizzly - set to stay that way all day, by the forecast *sigh*
-
Not too bad here at the moment but the wind is getting up and there's a warning we may get 200mm of rain. We've had 24mm in the last 24 hours if my electric wireless weather station is working properly.
-
Raining but not much wind at the moment.
-
Supposedly mild, but it doesn't feel that way when it is pouring with rain, blowing and lights on all day, nearly dark now.
-
Apocalyptic rain forecast and amber flood warnings for this part of the world today, but have only had 8mm so far.
BBC Look North mobilised all its resources today to report on the unfolding catastrophe, but could only report slightly elevated river levels. ::)
For the sake of those in high risk areas, hope both they and the Met office continue to have reason to feel embarrassed over the next few days...
-
The wind since 4pm has been rising and it is now chucking it down. We have a thick stemmed piece of ivy about five foot long that has suddenly landed on the decking. Don't know where that came from.
-
About 8ºC which isn't bad - RAIN! Lots of rain  not as bad as threatened .. yet. The whole day on the met office forecast is heavy rain, 95% or 90% confidence level.
-
8C here stayed mild all night, as well, grey and drizzly again, so far.
Good luck to those of you with the flood forecasts
-
A little drizzly but no sign of the biblical storms we were predicted. I must say the animals are getting quite impatient in the ark.
-
Lots of heavy rain here & very blustery today
-
Wet, wet, wet
Wasn't that a pop group?
-
Very wet and blowy.
-
Wet and blustery since first thing.
-
It hasn't stopped all day raining
-
Same as every body else, very wet and windy. Driving to work this morning when we got to the coastal road we usually use u p the west of the Wight, at really exposed areas, Paul had problems to keep the van on our side of the road. The sea was very rough but there were still some surfers still out there (silly fools).
-
At this moment in time we’ve got rain of biblical proportions & horrendous wind
-
It's been pretty steady all day but no cloudbursts - about 35mm in the last 24 hours. It did turn to wet snow / sleet but it's back to rain now. Just over 2ºC now at 11:30pm
-
Bright and sunny, hitting 90c down to shorts (when will this lockdown end )
In truth... raining, windy, bit of sun, hail.
-
Bright & breezy this morning with dare I say it a hint of the sun ☀️
-
Mainly grey skies, bit of wind and cold at Three Degrees (When will I see you again was my favourite). Pretty damp and puddles everywhere.
-
Bright & breezy this morning with dare I say it a hint of the sun ☀️
Same here, off for a walk in a mo, before it changes it's mind ::)
-
Pelted it down last night but today is bright but windy.
-
Early sleet then a mix of rain and sun.
-
Lot brighter today, patches of blue in the sky :) Little breeze but it's chilly at 4ºC
-
Bright, frosty and blimmin' cold!
-
Bright, frosty and blimmin' cold!
Same here. Lovely sunshine, but too cold to be out and about in it
-
Bright, frosty and blimmin' cold!
Same here. Lovely sunshine, but too cold to be out and about in it
The greenhouse doors are still frozen shut, so can't tell what the overnight low was, but one thing is sure - it was COLD ::) It's only 2C now Brrr!
-
SNOW  in Blackpool!!!
-
  Aidy
Here it's low grey cloud and 0.5C Greenhouse frozen up again!
The cloud is forecast to clear, with a few bright spots, before wintry showers later then -5C tonight - we'll see.
-
Forecast was for sleet followed by heavy snow around 3am through to the morning. All was clear at 5.30am but there was /is a very light dusting this morning. Light breeze and hovering around freezing.
-
Snowing as I type. Not settling though.
-
Bright but bitterly cold here. Still about 50 surfers/paddle boarders in the water at 8.30 this morning at Compton. They must be mad! :D
-
Same here Wighty, but no surfers. Went for walk down to the river today and the Severn is at one of the highest floods heights I've ever seen.
-
This
-
Frosty, but not as thick as yesterday when it never cleared.
-
We have a thick frost -2C, I can see from here that the greenhouse is frozen solid, so neither me nor the cat, have ventured outside Brr!
-
SNOW in North Wiltshire, about 4 inches. Cheers, Tony.
-
That funny white stuff gone now. Back to a propper Northern cowd day, bit of cloud.
-
We have snow - proper big snowflakes as well
Settling well and we have at least a couple of inches of it. I have just been out to throw some robin and songbird mix feed under shrubs where the ground is clear. All you can hear are excited children shouting and running around in the surrounding gardens
-
Light snow on the ground, around freezing still. Not surprising for the time of year :)
-
Rain this morning but sunshine this afternoon we've just had our walk :)
-
Woke up this morning to two inches of unforecast snow!
-
Very cold again this morning with heavy showers of rain. Brighter this afternoon. Enjoying pictures of the grand kids enjoying the snow (they all live on the mainland).
-
Woke up this morning to two inches of unforecast snow!
Sounds like the beginning of a strange blues number..
I woke up this morning
Unforecast snow
-
...lockdown's here
No place to go.
-
Ma woman done left me
Standing in the snow
-
Guess I got the dog darn blues.
-
-9 at the north side of the house (north side sounds more grand than the back of the house).
-
Cold, sunny and rather gorgeous. Been on the beach with the dog, a few gulls about but other than that we had the place to ourselves.
-
Grey and dull out there. Temperatures hovering a degree over freezing, little breeze. Still a fair amount of snow around.
-
Sunny, cold 0C, frosty morning, greenhouse frozen up again.
Manged to open the greenhouse, at last, and the overnight low was -4C Brrr!
-
It official, the WORLD IS ENDING
Another day with white stuff on the ground here in a very sunny Blackpool!
-
We have got our residual white stuff from yesterday, but it is all crunchy and iced now. It started melting yesterday afternoon, then re-froze as the light faded.
Blue sky and sunshine, but chilly at the moment. I think the final melt will be starting soon.
-
-7c last night, barely 1c now. Doesn't look like the snow will melt much today.
-
Beautiful day here winter sunshine still a bit nippy :)
-
Woke to a hard frost and it's cold -1C. It's actually not that warm indoors, either.
So I've put another cardigan on ::)
-
We might even get to just above freezing for a couple of days here. Mind the garden is still frozen solid and the pavement is an ice sheet.
-
Warmer at a balmy 2.7ºC - grey, wet and a bit windy
-
Bit nish, grey, odd bit of rain/ hail.
-
some rain, grey sky and bit blowy.
-
Reached a whopping 22°C this afternoon, mostly overcast, but with occasional sun, following rain and wind early this morning. That kind of warmth this time of year is unusual, even for here.
It was warm enough that I was able to go for an evening walk in just a T-shirt. Well, not just the shirt... I was wearing pants. And shoes...
-
... It was warm enough that I was able to go for an evening walk in just a T-shirt. Well, not just the shirt... I was wearing pants. And shoes...
Glad to hear it! :)
Strange - it was 8ºC at midnight but it's 6.5ºC this morning. Damp, light rain from grey skies but calm.
-
It's calm and damp, with low, misty cloud and 7C.
Now that I can get in the greenhouse, the lowest temp registered over the last few days was -4C .
-
More rain and misty, although it is warmer. Rain here for the next week . Roll on spring, I want to be able to open all the windows and completely change the air in the house.
-
Woke up in a hot sweat - for a minute I thought the worst
Then I got up and realised that the weather had changed completely during the night. It's 11C already outside, grey and calm - with a low of 8C in the greenhouse overnight.
Topsy turvy weather :nowink:
-
Very nearly not cold out this morning.
-
Back to a more typical -2° C this morning. Sunny though, it should be pleasant this afternoon.
-
Milder but really breezy with a few heavy showers thrown in. The sea is really rough as well.
-
Tipped down overnight and still steadily raining, but fairly mild. It is supposed to get colder later with sleet added into the rain as an extra treat. Can’t wait ::)
-

Same :(
-
It's storming out there. 40mm of rain, 1.6ºC and things blowing about. Had to pop out and secure the big greenhouse door.. brrrr, yuck!
Cat's a bit flummoxed - the weather at the back of the house is as bad as the front.. Even on double checking.
-
Woke up to a very crunchy frost this morning, black ice underneath as an added bonus, currently -2⁰c!
-
Clear and cold, no frost but only 1C. Colder now than it was in the early hours...
-
Actually +2ºC here but that's still pretty chilly. Bit windy still, so the feels like temp. is brrrr. At least it's not raining yet.
-
Very still and misty, cold and damp, horrid.
-
Been raining here steadily since about 11am. Wind has dropped but it's still very chilly out.
-
North Wiltshire, Sunday 15:00 hrs very wet snow, not settling at all.
Cheers, tony
-
Cold and damp horrible :)
-
It's snowing
-
White
-
It's much milder here 10C, this morning ( :)) - but still raining ::)
-
Pretty wet, that crazy guy next door is building a big boat and sending in the animals two by two
Warm though, 9ºC out there and little wind.
-
2-3" of the white stuff overnight - quite cold at the moment but rain forecast this evening and much milder tomorrow, so it shouldn't hang around too long this time...
-
Blowing, and misty with rain.
-
Like a spring day today, bright, mild & breezy, even a few birds chirping away in the trees.
-
Yesterday was a gloriously lovely typical spring day and I was out in the garden. :) Today I woke up to a scattering of snow and a hefty wind.
-
Milder again when in a sheltered spot but otherwise the wind chill factor in exposed areas lowers the temperature. The sea is very rough and was crashing into the sea wall at Freshwater Bay at lunchtime. Just had to stop and watch it (from inside the van though.)
-
Few inches of snow here today but starting to melt now
-
Dismal, grey and persisting down, 8C
-
It's raining fairly hard and there are the usual floods in the usual places where the smaller streams can't cope.
-
Lovely bright sunshine again!
-
Grey and raining.
-
Steady drizzle all day. Not much wind but dank and depressing.
-
Quite a chilly start, just over freezing, but there are patches of blue in the sky and it's dry. Honestly, it's not raining. I'm not making it up, it really truly isn't raining.
-
Actually, it's not raining here at the moment  BUT it is forecast to start in an hour or 2 and continue for the rest of the day ::) (before turning to snow!)
Perhaps I'd best get to the Co op for some milk before it does...
-
late afternoon rain thank goodness we've done our walk :)
-
On Kent's Romney Marsh, we are looking at north-easterly winds, about 20 mph, temperature at +1C, and the overnight sleet turned to snow about 30 minutes ago. It looks like continuing throughout the day.
-
Snow here as well, just as forecast, but unless it gets colder, it won't lay for very long as the ground is still very wet. No snow on the front footpath as that's still flooded from yesterday's rain ::)
-
Cold, calm and dry here - about 50% cloud. Lucky at last! :)
-
Windy and feeling colder, but no snow or rain so far.
-
+0.2C here with a 'feels like' of -4.8C thanks to a NE wind gusting up to 30mph.
Just the odd flurry of snow so far - about time it was someone else's turn. ;)
-
Very windy and bitterly cold. No snow or rain though but the sky does look a 'funny' colour. Be interesting to see what we wake up to in the morning.
-
It's cold and white -2C this morning.
There's about 3ins of snow and still some coming down in the 'strong' NE breeze. I wonder why Mollycat didn't fancy going out this morning ::)
-
Dusting of snow when I got up. Really slippery underfoot, just started to show sgain. No wind but bitterly cold.
-
Pretty much the same as yesterday - bright, dry but very cold, especially when the wind cuts through you.
-
not much snow, but what is there has turned to ice. -1 all day feels like -7c. no improvement for a few days yet. just been and de-frosted the birdbath. They are sitting on frozen ice, bless.
-
had some snow here through the night but had to go out for the jab that was booked for today so driving about twelve miles to there was ok roads clear snow melted but its trying its hardest to snow since we got home so taking things easy today
I'm pleased we went down the allotments last week to cut some thick branches of the trees that where hanging over the plot with permission from the farmer of cause the wife and me trimmed all the bows to cut up for the fire then cut up all the small branches put them in heaps to burn come spring or when the weather warms up it took us two days to do this job but time well spent outdoors in the fresh air
anyway i got a call from the farmer who told me we had made a good job of the trees brownie points or what
-
Light dusting of snow on waking up & snow flurries all day but it has melted on the roads & pavements on the whole. Bitterly cold on my walk to the chickens this morning & I expect the same in an hours time when I go again ???
-
Disappointing amount here for those of who don't have to venture out and who had been promised proper amounts of snow with a 4-day snow warning!
-
The wind again is bitterly cold and we've had a few flurries of snow, but very fine and nothing to be concerned about. Patches of the road that are prone to collecting water or field 'run off' were a bit icy this morning. I'm not at work tomorrow so can stay at home in the warm but on Wednesday we are expecting our second big delivery of timber (if it can get here).
-
It's snowed most of the day but not heavy enough so far to settle properly. Paranoia has set in and I've been out to sweep snow off the cheapo greenhouse three times already tonight!
-
Bright and dry but -3ºC at 8.00am. Had to bring the chooks water back to the house and melt the ice. Currently - 9:30am - standing at -1ºC
No snow though, much disappointment to my grandson :(
-
We've had more snow overnight, so it is thicker in the garden now and beginning to settle on the footpaths because they are frozen rather than wet
It's -2C which according to MetO 'feels like -8C' because of the NE wind-chill
-
Temperature here -1 deg, but feels a lot colder with the wind. No snow here, just a few flurries the other day. Fed the birds, didn't stay out long though !
-
-1 here but feels a lot colder. The wind is howling round the house. No snow though (yet). Not looking forward to tomorrow as we have the second half of our timber order due to be delivered. The timber mill is at Hastings and some of the weather warnings are for along the south coast.
-
The sky is he most amazing mauve/grey/blue colour. It like as if it s full of snow
Fortunately the high wind has dropped although it is still cold, garden path not slippy underfoot unlike yesterday when I went to top up bird feed and water. Dog towels on the line to 'dry' are already stiff.
-
It's calm outside and hovering just below zero, the sky is very dark and ominous to the West - I'm hoping that lot will pass us by ::) Fingers crossed!
-
Cold, crisp and clear. There's a biting breeze though.
-
Ours is like this atm.... -1⁰C
-
About -3ºC at the moment - blue skies, weak sunshine and hardly any breeze. -0.5ºC minimum in the potting shed despite thermostatically controlled heating - which is worrying for my chitting spuds.
-
Blue sky but bitterly cold. A couple of inches of snow on the ground. Really pretty but dazzling in the sunshine.
-
We've had sunshine this morning but still bitterly cold NO SNOW :)
-
The same as yesterday. Sunshine and light blue hazy sky with occasional flurries of snow.
-
We've just had a short snow shower which replaced what we lost in an hour's sunshine this morning, the sky looks heavy again, so think there will be more
-

We have just had a good covering of snow... Our heated greenhouse has a covering of snow this time! It is still up to temperature, as I can see the snow just starting to slide down the roof. We are expecting -5C before the week is out. That is very unusual here as we are only a few yards from the sea, which usually keeps us a bit warmer - less cold?
Ralph :(
-
The wind is bitterly cold and blows straight into our workshop and poor Paul has had a lot of glass to cut today. There were still some (I think) silly idiots out surfing at 8.30 this morning. Still no snow apart from somebody 'up there' shaking his head and letting his dandruff land on us. :D
-
Still dry and bright but bitterly cold. So cold my wireless thermometer and rain gauge has gone mad. It isn't actually -41.1º nor have we had 124mm of rain in the last hour!
A little warmer than yesterday I guess as the potting shed didn't fall below 5ºC with the heater holding temp in there.
-
Very sunny but cold & frozen on my trip to defrost the chickens water, my neighbour told me it was -4 on her outdoor thermometer, but without the wind today it was a lot nicer on the allotment site, so much so I did 4 laps round the site.
-
We had more snow overnight -4C, but it's been sunny all morning 8) so it's thawing in places and hovering around freezing.
-
sunny dry but very cold and there's a real wind chill in the air started doing something in the workshop but packed up to cold went back in the house to warm >:(
-
Dry, bright but bitterly cold again. The wind has picked up again this afternoon.
-
Bit warmer at freezing but very windy now :(
-
Weather app tells me it’s -2, so still frozen solid everywhere, felt colder though as there’s a fair bit of a breeze today. Sunny spells so far
-
Sunny here today, still cold hovering around freezing in the garden. -2.1C in the cold greenhouse last night and just maintained a positive of 0.2C in the heated house. It is supposed to be colder tonight.
Ralph.
-
Bright sun but very cold.
We have had snow flurries over several days, but nothing that stuck or caused a problem.
-
just 0 maybe 1c, but the sun is shining so its is ok indoor. Very cold out though, cutting winds.
-
I believe we may get above freezing point next week and that if the wind drops the snow might stop blowing off the fields onto the roads tomorrow.
Such fun living in the rural north east.
-
Bitingly cold with a breeze to add to the chill factor
-
Stupidly cold and a few snow flurries today. I'm glad it's warming up from tomorrow so I can get back on with the fun job of digging up tree roots....
-
Bitterly cold strong wind, icing sugar dusting of snow and not a day to venture out in.
-
I'm sure they said it was getting warmer, it doesn't feel like it out there we've just had our walk and feels jolly chilly, rain forcast for all next week :)
-
Bitterly cold wind and grey sky. Not a day for going out unless you have a dog!
-
I'm sure they said it was getting warmer, it doesn't feel like it out there we've just had our walk and feels jolly chilly, rain forcast for all next week :)
Well, our forecast says the wind changes to Southerly during the night, and temps s'posed to be up to 9/10C by lunchtime. Fingers crossed!
-
Lovely, wet, colourless precipitation just started here - temperature +3C (reasons to be cheerful! :))
-
Slightly warmer today than the last few days, but you'd hardly know it with the wind. We had a few showers this afternoon too, but at least no more snow.
-
Today was mostly strong winds driving horizontal heavy rain - warmer though but pretty awful
-
Rain, grey and co!d. Yesterday was a day to be outside, some garden tidying done and washing on the line to dry
-
Much better here this week. 10-15C warmer than last week. The snow and Ice disappeared overnight on Sunday. There is a stiff breeze that is drying things out, fingers crossed, we will be able to get on with sorting the plot out at the weekend, if not before.
Ralph.
-
Woke up to 9C, so 1 less jumper on today :D It's grey with rain on and off - but feel I must wrap up and go out for a walk before my legs seize up ::) I'm just hoping for a dry patch...
-
Nevermind weather where I am...
Texas has snow and cold worse than Anchorage, Alaska! Even as far south as Houston! Highly unusual that far south.
Texas is expecting even more snow later this week.
-
It's 9C, damp, grey and breezy.
-
Looks like a reasonable day - bit grey and a bit cool at 7ºC with little breeze but it's not raining... yet
-
8c, raining, grey and a bit windy. Doesn't feel like 8 though.
-
Wet and misserable :)
-
It was mild, bright and breezy this morning, so got to potter for a while in the greenhouse, but the wind strengthened to 30mph gusts, and brought dark clouds and rain with it. Boo hoo!
I was actually enjoying myself for a while there ::)
-
Stormy out there today, feels cold too. Lots of horizontal rain hitting the windows at force.
-
It's a grey, damp and misty 9C, with a strong, gusty wind. Not very pleasant - but at least it isn't too cold ::)
-

Mum, your weather was 2°C warmer than we had, also damp gray and misty that time of the morning for us; not the wind though. Later in the day the sun came out though.
-
Raining steadily with gusty winds.
-
Dripping and spitting. Grey. Might get sunny showers. Might get heavy rain.
-
It's sunny and it's 12C 8) Only a slight southerly breeze - a big change for the better.
I'm going to have some lunch and then I'm off to the plots to see what's what :D
-
13 degrees, a bit dull and blustery. Keeps spitting with rain.
-
Very strong winds, horizontal rain :(
It brought a tree down into the power lines so 4 vanloads of engineers arrived and pushed it off the line. Looks like we'll have a lot of wood next year for the fire.
-
Looks like we'll have a lot of wood next year for the fire.
Every cloud has a silver lining, so they say :D
-
Actually pleasant out there! Bright, dry, calm and around 9ºC if the gizmo is to be believed. :)
-
Dry and 9C here as well, but still quite grey atm. Forecast is for some sunny spells later, like yesterday 8) Fingers firmly crossed ;)
-
Sitting in the garden with a cuppa. Glorious.
-
Very pleasant, actually turned heaters off ! Been for a walk, but it has clouded over a bit now.
-
Lovely afternoon just been for a walk along the beach, long may it last :)
-
Dry, bright and warm enough to spend a couple of hours out in the garden this afternoon. The apple tree has had a good pruning and the decking has finally been swept.
-
Overcast and drizzly.
-
Howling winds, rain - not a day for playing outside!
-
Lovely sunny morning here, 11C and a blustery breeze.
The overnight low in the g/house was 8C and the autovents have already opened as it's 19C in there 8)
-

Much the same today, a little less sun this afternoon, but still very pleasant this early in the year :nowink:
-
very very windy but not cold the winds drying up grounds nicely :)
-
Windier than my old grandad after a curry and half of mild.
-
So blustery here today it almost blew my little grandson over when he was playing outside in the garden, some showers early on this morning
-
Much improved here, today. Blue sky, weak sun but sunshine all the same and dry. Chilly though, around 4ºC to start the day
-
Down to 1.5 overnight in the greenhouse but 18C inside, now.
It's a lovely sunny morning but a fresh 8C.
-
Suprised to see a touch of frost this morning, greenhouse dipped to 0.9c last night. Beautiful sunshine ou tnow though, just about to go work in the garden!
-
A really beautiful day :D
-
Frost again this morning with clear skies and sun just climbing up. Popped down the lotty at first light, really nice to watch the day break and hear the birds.
-
Frost has cleared beautiful sunshine. Dog walked on the beach. All would be right with the world if the dog hadn't rolled in dead gull! She had now been shampood and is sleeping but off.
-
A cold and frosty start but the sun is shining :)
Greenhouse is frosted up so can't look at the overnight low yet ::)
The overnight low was -0.5C. It was up to 24C by lunchtime despite the door being open about halfway. Lovely having my lunch in there 8)
-
dry, bright and calm - about 8ºC now.
-
Another beautiful day sunshine all the way :)
-
Okay if you stay out of exposed areas where it is bitterly cold. It's warmer on the east side of the Island than the west. Loads of surfers out in/on the water at Compton today.
-
a lovely sunny spring day just the ticket makes one feel like doing something outdoors :D
-
Lovely sunny day with a fresh breeze. Spent a good six hours working on the garden, sore and tired this evening but worth it. Garden diary on the way in the next week or so all being well :)
-
Been cloudy all day here :(
Now they clear, bright moon and stars :)
But freezing
-
Bright and sunny but only 6C a bit of a surprise to Mollycat, and me, when I opened the door ::)
Overnight low in the greenhouse was -1C.
-
Another beautiful day bit more wind today. :)
-
Yesterday reached either 26 or 27 °C, depending on where you looked at the National Weather Service website!! Either way, it was a record high, with a sunny afternoon.
Today is a bit more typical for the season, rainy with a cold front, 17° C predicted for a high. No severe weather predicted (often a concern with our spring frontal storms).
-
(Oops, nevermind, I somehow managed to double post; deleted)
-
what a change in the weather foggy first thing and cold all day here its back to winter coats please please send us some sunny spring weather >:(
-
what a change in the weather foggy first thing and cold all day here its back to winter coats please please send us some sunny spring weather >:(
I think we've got it - bright, sunny and Porthmadog which is just a few miles down the road from us was the warmest place in the UK yesterday :)
-
John you have taken our weather, as well - I've woken up to a cold, damp, foggy morning yuk!
-
John you have taken our weather, as well - I've woken up to a cold, damp, foggy morning yuk!
Sorry!
Greenhouse autovents are open!
-
It's cold around 5ºC but with sunlight and blue skies. Quite nice if you wrap up warm.
-
Here it's 4C damp and grey *sigh*
No sun in the forecasts for more than a week  That's very depressing :(
-
Started out a little bit fresh, but it's not bad out now if you're moving around. Time to get on with some jobs around the garden!
-
The thermostat showed -1C last night in the g/house :(
Outside it's 3C now but there's still ice on the birds' water dish, fluffy clouds and the odd blue bit above.
-
Warming a bit here now - near 6ºC - dry and bright. :D
-
Not as cold as they said but still not very bright. Odd periods of sunlight but shortlived.
-
Blue sky and sun here, but only managed 6c with ENE. Lovely from indoors. Mrs B
-
Cold, frosty, Sun shining. Gorgeous, been on the beach with the dog.
-
A miserable, grey, cloudy 2C :(
-
partial sunny, not too windy, but cold a v sharp frost last night.
-
yesterday darn cold but dry today quite sunny and dry really made one feel like doing something outdoors or in the greenhouse still cold nights plenty of logs on the fire [keep the home fires burning] :D
-
A miserable, grey, cloudy 2C :(
The same again :(
-
Yesterday was supposed to be very rainy. Hmm - that would be why there was a period when the sun looked out and then went away. Not particularly warm. Looks to be more of the same for the week with wind thrown in.
-
Bit warmer this morning at 6ºC but damp and drizzle. Calm at the moment but the wind is due to pick up later.
-
We have sun 8) Only so far, 3C but it's lovely to see blue skies again :)
The high winds are in our forecast for Weds and Thurs - something to look forward to ::)
-
Obviously, because I'm still working at the moment, my times at the allotment are very precious, so I can't wait to spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday down there . . . in my snorkel and flippers!
-
Calmer now but it's been a wild night. Really storming. Near 2 inches of rain overnight. Still wet and grey but at least the wind's gone down for the moment.
-
Very, very windy but no rain as yet.
-
It's 6C, grey, drizzly and the wind is getting up now as forecast, so I've just been out to clamp the big greenhouse doors shut :(
-
Getting windier and the rain is getting heavier, it has been raining on and off all day. Not looking forward to the journey up the Milly tomorrow as in places it is very exposed and we have been blown across the road before now.
-
The winds were incredible at 5am here - real 'pull the duvet up' stuff.
No puddles and calm now although what the day will bring on is another thing.
-
It's been blowing a hoolie and whooshing down the chimneys all night, kept waking me up, still the same now
Forecast is for same all day, so guess that means I'm staying indoors again :(
-
The winds haven't been too bad up here, breezy but nothing major, certainly no damage from what I've seen while out and about this morning!
-
Hoolie for sure overnight, now still very windy.
It was raining earlier but we have some sun now. I have to stay in to wait for a delivery, but I feel a greenhouse moment coming on. I could plant some early spuds to get going, sow some seeds and maybe rig up a climbing frame for mangetout peas :D
-
Similar to Mum's. Sunny now, quite windy and better behind glass.
-
its been a funny day here nice and sunny for a time then it looks black over Bills Mothers and down comes the rain we call it lambing storms round here :D
-
Just windy until about 2pm and since then we have had heavy rain and hail that hit the windows with intent! Calmed down again now though. Back to the just windy. The window cleaner was supposed to come today not surprised that he didn't make an appearance. :nowink:
-
Again very windy, and is that wind cold. Several showers, short , sharp but heavy.
-
It's been blowing a hoolie and whooshing down the chimneys all night, kept waking me up, still the same now
Forecast is for same all day, so guess that means I'm staying indoors again :(
Much the same today, I'm sorry to say :(
-

Much the same today, I'm sorry to say :(
and repeat - raining and still gusting at 38-40 mph :(
-
Really stormy in the night, woke me at 4am and didn't sleep much after :(
Bit of rain and cold.
Big pane of glass went in the greenhouse yesterday. Lucky I had a replacement from the previous greenhouse.
-
Very blowy here and was all night. Bit grey, bit damp and not that inspiring at the moment.
It is supposed to calm down this afternoon and then tomorrow during the day at least. I hope so :)
-
Still blowing a gale, i hate it go away :)
-
Still very windy but not so cold, or so I thought until we had a hail storm that lasted for about 20 minutes.
-
21°C, partly cloudy, but the sun is starting to win out. Perfect for getting some work done outdoors!
-
Nice, warm sunny day, the odd gust of wind but for the most part T-shirt weather while digging the garden.
-
Nice, warm sunny day, the odd gust of wind but for the most part T-shirt weather while digging the garden.
Just what I wished for, must have been delivered to the wrong address ::)
-
Another chilly, gusty morning, with threatening dark clouds :( Low of 3C overnight in the greenhouse
I'm certainly not in any hurry to sow outside, this year, given the MetO long-range weather forecast to the end of the month *sigh* Don't think the early spuds will be planted for St Patrick's day on Wednesday, either ::)
Temperatures potentially much colder than average in the south, particularly the south east, where showers could be wintry for a time, but likely milder across the north. The end of the period will most likely see another period of unsettled weather, with spells of rain and some strong winds crossing all parts of the UK, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures are expected to be at or slightly below average for this time of year by the end of the period.
On a cheerier note the native primroses have started flowering :)
-
On a cheerier note the native primroses have started flowering :)
:D
Grey but mild here at the moment. I have a week off next week so brace yourselves. I will probably hex us all
-
Mix of sunshine and clouds, nice and warm to work in again. Shame someone decided to lay down plastic netting in the garden under the turf
-
12c and sunny, doesn't feel very warm as winds are NNW.
-
Pleasantly warm, blue sky and only a light breeze.
-
Wet and misty out there but they're promising sunshine later today.
-
It's 5C and raining this morning :(
Greenhouse down to 3C last night.
-
12° and the sun's just breaking through.
-
Grey, supposed to be 12c, but I don;t believe it. The winds are NW, not warm enough for me
-
Cloudy morning gave way to another lovely sunny afternoon. Bit windy though...
-
Reasonable out there. Dry and calm at least, bits of blue and bright and about 5ºC to start (should warm up)
-
No blue bits here, but a lighter grey sky and the wind has dropped - that alone makes it feel much warmer :)
3C low overnight - 5C now, and Mollycat thought it was worth venturing out :D
-
light grey, 10c dropping to 7c later. Rain showers this afternoon, Wind N.
-
Misty, little wet, gentle breeze and about 7ºC to start the day. Supposed to improve as the day goes on.
-
We've got 5C, grey sky and drizzle, with no improvement in the forecast....
4C overnight in the greenhouse.
-
We've got broken cloud with temps around 7⁰c at the moment but at least it's dry!
-
light grey, 8c feels like 5. Cold N winds. A few spots of rain from time to time.
-
Cold and grey this morning, but then the sun came out and it's turned into another nice afternoon!
-
Fair amount of cloud but some big patches of blue up there - promising to be a fair day. Puddles on the ground and about 8ºC to start.
-
A sunny morning at last Woo hoo!
It's 6C rising to 8C according to the forecast... but at least it's supposed to be a dry day, the ground is so wet right now. So some greenhouse pottering for me , I think 8)
Overnight low of 3C in the greenhouse.
-
Woke up to find it had been raining overnight (wasn't forecast), its quite chilly outside, around 7 or 8⁰c, but the unheated greenhouse is currently 17⁰c. Its quite overcast but at least its not raining.. tomorrow looks a lovely sunny day!
-
A sunny day here was forecast, so the washing is out. It is 10c but that NE wind is still cold and ready to nip at soft shoots.
-
Blue sky ,few clouds but a cold wind.....but have nearly finished digging ..thank goodness for back saver spade
-
Dank, grey and cold. Little bit of misty rain too this afternoon. No topless gardening here today...
-
Yesterday was just dull, chilly and misty. At points it came down thick and we owned all we could see! Didn't bother the lambs in the field though, they just carry on playing :)
Today's looking better already with sunshine promised for the afternoon.
-
Sun trying to break through the cloud. No wind, so far it's one of those soft spring days.
-
Cool (8ºC) and grey but dry. Little breeze but really chilly when it gusts. Potting shed and polytunnel day :)
-
Greenhouse was up to 24C earlier, but the return of thick, dark clouds mean it is back down to 16C now. Overnight low was 6C.
11C outside and the breeze is quite chilly.
-
it started of quite cold and dull but here then got brighter and a little warmer at midday and as i write this its quite a nice end to the day looking a bit like spring and next week its summer time again :D
-
Another brilliant day, went for a lovely walk along the beach not many people about :)
-
Grey, overcast day. Cool and possibly a bit of rain to come. But Wednesday is looking promising. :)
-
overnight low of 3C in the g/house.
Grey and 5C outside now, the slight breeze is from the SW now, so feels a bit warmer without that nagging NE of the last few days :)
-
Low cloud at the moment :)
-
It looks nice and sunny out there through the window sitting in the warm. It's a very cold and lazy wind that blew through me for a couple of hours on the plot. And the next few days look no better.
-
12C at the moment, coolish breeze but it's nice and bright with the occasional burst of sunshine :)
-
Lots of low cloud, so much so that England is not visible! Otherwise a very nice day and pleasant in the sunshine. Made me want to go outside and do something but busy at the moment with other stuff.
-
It's lovely! Lambs playing chase in the sunshine day
-
Lovely mild, calm, sunny start to the day, had my morning tea in the greenhouse, but it has clouded over now, 11C.
Overnight low in the greenhouse was 3C
-
Top temp 9c today, a bit misty and light grey, winds SW. Doesn't feel overly warm.
-
Varying between sunny, to overcast, to ominously overcast. Warm. It rained last night, but mostly isn't right now. It's completely still at the moment, but it was windy earlier (with the aforementioned ominous) with tornado warnings popping up on my phone. Nothing hit us fortunately.
-
Bright, breezy and 9c this morning. Forecast is for 44mph gusts over the weekend but thank goodness we don't have to contend with tornadoes. Glad they missed you Sp.
-
It's grey with the occasional quick burst of rain - the wind nearly blew me over on the way to the corner shop- luckily there was a railing to grab to keep me upright ::)
Forecast is for those winds to turn icy this afternoon and for the weekend
-
Sunny right now but we've had rain and hail on and off today.
-
Very windy, and it's a cold wind. We've have had hail, sleet and rain on and off all day. Do I believe we're going to get a 'heatwave' next week, well, we'll see.. :D
-
North Yorkshire/North East Coast - Cool and windy though not freezing. Not looking forward to Sunday (28th) as forecast rain with up to 48mph gusts (south Westerly) for most of the day. Neighbouring plot has already had his new (first) self made Polytunnel wrecked by previous storms
-
Bright, sunny and 3C. Not windy yet.
-
Today in Tropical Jarrow it's a bit cloudy with occasional sunshine popping through the clouds, temps around 6⁰c but at least its dry.
-
Mainly dry, small gaps in the grey but the wind is freezing. Keeping in the potting shed, greenhouse today.
-
Sunny 6C this morning woo hoo! Lovely, i thought 8)
I opened the door for Mollycat, only to find that there's a very cold 'strong breeze' she sniffed and turned back inside - can't say I blame her :D
Any gardening will be in the greenhouses then ::)
-
Too cold for me. it is a chilly gusty wind, with no sunshine. Did put my CH on earlier yesterday !
-
Looks lovely from indoors, bright and dry. Like others made the mistake of going outside and meeting head on a cold stiff breeze.
-
I was tempted to go out yesterday to paint some more bricks with Sandtex below the pebble-dashed walls of our house. Having started I had to finish but I got rather cold. Today it's raining and blowing a gale so am staying put inside.
-
At the moment, it's 22°C and overcast, but storms are coming soon.
Wednesday it's forecast to be 24°C and storming again with a cold drop to freezing by Thursday overnight. That kind of temperature drop frequently spawns tornadoes this time of year.
-
S-p, we're quite cool right now, next we're forecast 2 or 3 warm days and then back to sub 10C and night frosts by the end of next week :(
BUT at least we don't usually get tornados - stay safe!
-
An overnight low of 7C in the greenhouse.
Outside it's 8C now, still with that cold breeze - but it is lovely and sunny 8)
-
Grey and breezy here with light drizzle on and off. :(
But it's looking nice from tomorrow onwards :)
-
Bright sunshine and pleasantly warm this morning.
-
Sunny 18°C and blustery.
-
The forecast is "much warmer than yesterday" but I've just put the heating on as my nose was cold and hands stiff  I might venture out later to see if it's warmer out than in.
-
Certainly much more sunshine than of late, but doesn't seem that much warmer yet - unless you're inside the greenhouse.
It hasn't helped that the nearby farm had decided that today is muck- spreading day, so don't even want the windows open, let alone sit outside ::)
-
Typical Mum, first nice day too. Lovely, sunny and warm for us. 21°C and not windy :)
-
T-shirt weather here. I was on the plot all afternoon and it was glorious :D
-
It hasn't helped that the nearby farm had decided that today is muck- spreading day, so don't even want the windows open, let alone sit outside ::)
Eugh :(
Don’t blame you. That is a vile smell. At least they didn’t ruin a day when it was warm enough you did want to be outside. Not much of a silver lining, but it is something.
-
Cool start this morning but soon warmed up, got a right sweat on unloading the car at the tip this afternoon!
-
Looks like a reasonable day out there - not quite as warm as yesterday but dry and bright :)
-
Cool start this morning but soon warmed up
It really did, didn't it. glorious afternoon. I even opened up all the doors and windows for the fresh air which was really odd having put the heating on. You have to love the British weather. I see theres snow forecast here for the weekend
-
Not so warm today. grey and misty.
-
I do wish I hadn't looked at the forecast for next 10 days ::)
Cold weather and late frosts, talk about topsy-turvy pffft!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yAWjHYBcb8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yAWjHYBcb8)
-
A touch too warm working in the afternoon sun today, even got a bit of a tan on my arms and face
-
Well they got that wrong, today was supposed to be warmer than yesterday. Can't see England, presume it's floated off somewhere. :D The colder wind has returned and we had a few short sharp showers. We did notice a lot of seagulls sitting in fields on our way home which is often a sign that bad weather out to sea is due to hit soon. The sea was a lot rougher as well and the 'silly' surfers were out in force.
-
Quite a nice day here but I missed most of it being indoors :(
-
It's looking rather nice out there again :)
Bit grey but bright enough and around 13ºC at the moment, dry with a little breeze.
Hopefully I can catch up some more.
-
It's grey, 8C with a gusty, cold NE wind, so not very pleasant - especially as we were spoilt for the last couple of days *sigh*
5C overnight in the greenhouse.
-
7°C overcast and a bit of light drizzle.
-
Temperature has dropped off from the lovely sunny day yesterday. Sky has turned from blue to cloudy. And the Easter forecast isn't any reason to go out places around here.
-
Not too bad again :)
Patches of blue, dry and hardly any breeze although cooler than yesterday.
-
Overnight low of 5C in the greenhouse.
Outside it's 7C now with grey sky and we've got that nagging cold N.Easterly again :(
-
Bright and sunny but a bit on the chilly side out of the sun.
-
I can actually see a couple of breaks in the cloud, but it is nippy :D
-
Yesterday was cool - distinct chill in the wind - but lovely and sunny. Warm in the sun :)
Today is much the same with a soft blue sky and sun shining down.
-
Heavy frost this morning but cleared now. Blue sky and sunshine and looks like a nice greenhouse day.
-
We are still in miserable grey mode, but the wind has dropped and is now from the West, so feels much nicer out there, although still only 5C atm. Overnight low in the greenhouse was 4C
Forecast is for a sunny and warmer afternoon, so hopefully I'll be on the plot then :)
-
It's a very strong and lazy wind but other than that, sunny.
-
Another beautiful warm and sunny day here again! It was t-shirt off time today as I laid some woodchips down on the paths between the raised beds...
-
Bitter cold! Currently 0⁰c in my greenhouse! We've had a bit of a frost with a very light shower of sleet that happened overnight.
Its a beautiful crisp morning with not a cloud in the bright blue sky but there's a proper icy wind that chills to the bone!
-
Just had a flurry of snow
-
Bright but chilly start but now storm clouds are now gathering. Typical as I'd just put the laundry in.
-
It's still bright and blue out there but we had a bit of a squall in the night. The winds are getting up so I'm glad I made sure the greenhouses were secure. Down to 5ºC and falling.
-
Woke up to a dusting of snow but it's going now as the sun is brightly shining out of a clear blue sky.
-
Light dusting of snow here today too :( Just above freezing but the wind has dropped so it doesn't actually feel as bad as yesterday, blue sky and sunshine at the moment. ::)
-
It's 0.9 this morning, but a lovely calm, sunny, blue skies one :) Just too cold for the time of year ::)
The overnight low in the greenhouse was 0C.
-
Dusting of snow melting in the sunshine - bit over freezing out there. Good day to go back to bed :)
-
No snow here, but the wind is NNW 6c max today, but feels much colder as it is clouding over now. There are too many minus degrees showing for the next week.
-
Snow, sun melts snow, hail, snow, sun, hail ....
Got the fire going, chooks checked and fed, propagators holding temp in the potting shed. Some 'me time' indoors! :D
-
We did have a little snow flurry about mid-day, very strange 'cause the sky was blue. Mrs B
-
Blue sky with white clouds but a rather chilly breeze, and now I've had some hail! >:(
-
More snow this morning :( colder feel to the day and no breeze. It has a December look to it rather than March. Duvet day :nowink:
-
I can see blue sky, white fluffy clouds, it looks lovely from indoors!
When I ventured out, it feels very different - there's still some frost on the grass at 1C, the greenhouse door runners are still frozen shut... Brrr.
The forecast is for a 'high' of 7C today ::)
-
Far too cold! Grey sky, dull but dry and calm.
-
There was about 25 minutes of snow about 4.30pm. Where it settled on the grassy shade it was still there this morning. Today is getting cloudy again, max 7c WNW chilly winds. I am staying in.
-
We had snow shower later than you about 6-30ish didn't last long, bitterly cold today just come back from our walk :)
-
Yesterday's stiff breeze has dropped so it doesn't feel quite so cold out. Grey skies and general blurgh-ness all round.
-
Grey and damp this morning but feels warmer.
-
A lot warmer here too :) About 11ºC at the moment. Dry with little breeze and rare bits of sunshine as well.
-
max 9c and sunny and breezy, got the washing done !
-
Bit like yesterday - grey and cool but calm, however it's lightly raining on and off :(

An overnight low of 1.6C in the greenhouse.
Outside it is 5C, bright and sunny. Although the 'strong breeze' is blowing up the terrace from the South, it's still very chilly...
A nice day for some potting on in the greenhouse, then :nowink:
-
Grey, damp overcast warmer than the last couple of days but still meh.
I've also started to sneeze repeatedly first thing of a morning so it looks like it's that time of year again :(
-
It's pretty chilly - about 6ºC - but calm and a lovely blue sky with weak sunshine. The view towards Anglesey is very clear.
-
The temperature has dropped and the wind has picked up and we have had some short sharp showers.
-
Cold and absolutely tipping it down. Not complaining too much, it put an end to the back breaking job of breaking up the ground with a pickaxe ahead of laying a gravel path.
-
Cold with snow and sleet this morning.
-
Grey and cold, bit misty and light rain showers.
Maybe some polytunnel time..
-
Bright and dry but that wind has a very nasty nip to it.
-
Yesterday was .. interesting..
Rain which dried up in sunshine. Snow which burnt off then more snow then hail then snow which burnt off for a fine evening close to the day!
This morning there's sunshine melting off a bit of snow, so it must have snowed in the night. It should be dry and cold today
-
Cold; sunny; frost lifting in the sun. Still sleet left over in the shade from yesterday.
-
It rained overnight and the greenhouse low was -1.7C
This morning it's cold 2C and very grey. I guess the tomatoes I've been moving in and out of the greenhouse, each day, will be staying indoors ::)
-
Grey and cold start but it's brightened up - bitter wind again and the thermostat in the hallway shows just 14 degrees.
-
Has been raining, lots of grey clouds. 7c max, winds NNW. The sun is trying to come out.
-
There was a white, frosty garden this morning, 5C in the sunshine now.
Down to -3C in the greenhouse last night *sob* onion seedlings look like they're dead :(
-
Warming up a bit here, no frost last night and it's near 10ºC - very grey though but dry. Little breeze.
-
9c max today, wind SSW. Some sun, some clouds. But it just doesn't feel warm.
-
Lovely day out there! Sun shining down from a blue sky with barely a cloud. Feels quite warm when I nipped out to the shed. :)
-
Not bad here, max 11c, but the wind is still ESE. Still the washing is done :D
-
Very cold start here with a heavy frost again. Sunny and bright through and there does feel like there's a warmth to the sun shine.
-
Lovely day :)
Blue skies, little breeze, sunshine and warmer than the Met Office guess of 3º at 10ºC :D
-
Heavy frost again this morning. Clearing quickly in the sunshine though. Clear blue sky and a forecast for double digit temperatures. Has spring finally sprung?
-
Cold but no frost here last night : )
Setting up for another lovely sunny day like yesterday - no complaints!
-
+1.7C in the greenhouse overnight, hurray!
I'm just going to start the morning ritual of taking the tomato and pepper plants out there :D
No chance of them being bent double on the way, as the NE wind has finally dropped Woohoo!
It's 6C outside now a blue sky, sunny day 8)
-
Groundhog day yet again - slight ground frost overnight followed by sunny morning and a tendency to cloud over in the afternoon - plenty warm enough for some aerobic weeding.
Have had next to no rain here for several weeks - am going to have to deploy the hose a little earlier than usual this year, although I've got a funny feeling it was the same last year too...
-
It is 9c Max today but still with the NE winds. I have a builder working on the fence in the back garden, and he has his running vest on - mind you that's all he ever wears, anywhere !
-
Lovely in the sunshine but still a bit chilly in the shade. Bit breezy still though.
-
Looks like another lovely day here - greenhouse vents have opened up in the sunshine :)
Looks like the next week is going to continue along the same lines so I may have to start doing some watering - which is very unusual in Wales as normally this is handled by the big fella in the sky, who is very diligent
-

and repeat....
If it wasn't for me resetting it to zero after each morning's reading - I'd assume that the 'stat was stuck :D
-
We're stuck in the same weather cycle as well, looks lovely outside until you go out there and then the chilly wind hits you.
-
Beautifully warm out in the glorious sunshine, great weather for working out in the garden!
-
A fair day. Cloudier than of late but a bit warmer at 10ºC - repeat after me..
I will not waste this good weather! :D
-
Absolutely gorgeous! Bedding plants etc are out of their mini-greenhouse and taking some fresh air.
-
Looks like another lovely day here too!
-
A bit more hazy cloud than blue sky, this morning, and 8C.
Overnight low in the g/house was 0.7C
-
Mine is the same as Mum's, max 12c, with SSW gentle winds. More washing on the line
-
Yesterday was a glorious day after a frosty and cold start. This morning is overcast but warmer without the overnight frost.
-
Looking good again! Had to water the raised beds yesterday which is unusual.
-
Not so cold overnight, the low in the greenhouse was 3.5C.
Outside it's another sunny morning 8C with a very light NE breeze :)
Just looked at the forecast, which shows it getting colder again for the next week or so ::) Very strange!
-
Another beautiful day just been for a walk along the beach :D
-
After a freeze a couple weeks ago, we are headed back down to 2 C tonight, with a strong wind! At least it's sunny.
Since I took the orchids outside after the (alleged) last frost date on April 15, I'll need to put a tarp on the ground, plants on the tarp, and old blankets on top of that. Then back up to a high of 29 C next Tuesday!! ???
-
Frost and -1 for us again today. Clear and sunny though with a decent day forecast so fingers crossed.
-
Dazzling sunshine out there! Hate to say it, but we really need some rain.
-
It's 6C, bright and sunny, but there's a cold ENE breeze :(
An overnight low of 3C in the greenhouse.
-
We haven't had much rain here either. We are expecting our first substantial rain (since 2 weeks ago) on Saturday. Maybe "substantial" doesn't really capture it: 2.5 inches forecast!
-
No rain in the forecast here (very unusual for Snowdonia) - just blue skies and sunshine :)
-
Another warm one today. Night time temperatures are just starting to creep up a bit too. Like the rest of you, I would kill for a bit of rain though, I'm having to water far too much!
-
We need rain!!!! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the sun but it is wrong to be watering so much in april. Not a drop in the forecast.
-
After a lovely day yesterday, it's all change today ::)
After an overnight low of 3C - It's cloudy and there's a chilly NE wind.
It's still under 10C in the g/house so the toms & peppers are staying indoors for now. The forecast said there may even be a spot or 2 of rain today ;)
-
Cold start again but some real warmth to the sun even early on.
-
It's brilliant sunshine from blue skies here - pretty warm too. Minimum in the greenhouse was 9 last night and it's 22 in there at 9am :)
More watering to do :(
-
After 2 inches of rain yesterday, 19°C and brilliant blue skies this morning. I moved all of the seedlings back into the sunshine
-
Lucky you S.P. I am desperate for some rain here. On the top of the South Downs 1foot soil, then chalk. Lovely and sunny, but a strong NE cold wind. It is like a dust bowl, I cannot believe I am watering plants already
-
We're watering here too. Does seem strange at this time of year. I just hope my climbing fuschia in the corner recovers Weeded the front garden last weekend and it was really dry.
-
Warm in the sun today but a cool breeze throughout the day. Drier than Prohibition outside now though.
-
We still have that cold NE wind, it's grey and 8C atm - so not very nice at all. Still no rain.
Down to 1C in the g/house last night, so still bringing the tomatoes and peppers back in every night. Those trays are getting heavy now plants have been potted on *sigh*
-
Looks like another lovely sunny day here. Possible rain tomorrow - which is much needed.
-
No rain forecast for the next week ! 12c maximum today with those cold ENE winds. New leaves are in danger of the wind burning them, I think it has got my Hydrangea.
-
2.4mm of rain yesterday and overnight to add to the 2.2mm we had here at the very beginning of April - not exactly a 'grand' total! :nowink:
-
Quite a bit cooler with grey skies but no real prospect of rain, We had a drop yesterday - just enough to irritate, not enough to do any good.
-
Still no rain here :(
3C overnight in the greenhouse.
Outside it's a cloudy, calm 10C - the NE wind is forecast to return later, though.
-
we had a good sprinkling of rain last night you know that stuff that makes your plants grow and most welcome for us gardeners
-
Grey and cold most of the day we did have a few spits lunch time :)
-
Had to go out for a couple of hours, Come feeling very cold. Not nice, clicked CH on !
-
No rain but it kept going dark and we thought ' here it comes' but nothing. Chilly wind that feels 'damp'. We really do need it though.
-
Proper acutal rain this morning, everything got a good soak.
-
Sunny, fluffy white clouds in a blue sky - beautiful. Cold and dry, though. More watering needed :(
-
Bright but chilly. None of the wet stuff that we were told would be here this afternoon has materialised (yet). Suppose I'd better go out with the hose again.
-
Sunshine from blue skies, cotton wool ball clouds - but chilly and the radar shows a shower band coming from the north.
British weather - rarely boring!
-
We started with blue sky, now there are a few more grey clouds about, still got a the breeze. Now more Easterly then Northerly, but still cold.
It's 8C now and the max in the Met0 forecast is only10C :(
Just taken all the tomato plants out to the greenhouses and the overnight low in there was only 1.3C *sob*
-
Not much better here Mum, grey and cool. When the sun peeps out it warms rapidly, but not for long. My toms are in the greenhouse permanently now as the temps are just staying warm enough at night. I don't want them to be spoiled little brats as most of them are going outside this year.
-
I'd say we've got proper March here. Raining at crack of dawn, cleared to grey, hailed on the allotment, not been warm since. The sun looked at the area and went away again.
-
Rained so hard yesterday, part of my carport collapsed. Another job for the men ! Today some sun, then some hail, only 9c with with NNE winds. The sky is very dark now, but a little chink of sun has found its way out :D
-
After a low of 1C, it was 27C in the greenhouse for my 'coffee break' this morning - whilst the sun was out 8)
It went in a lunchtime and now it's 9C outside and we have drizzle, better than no rain I suppose ::)
-
We had quite a shower after lunch at least it cleared the air, sunshine again now still need more :)
-

That should be covered by your house insurance. Hope so for you!
-
Pitiful drizzle on and off today, but still had to whip out the hosepipe this evening.
-
Cannot make another insurance claim, still 6 months into the pipe under floor.
Only maximum 9c today a bit blowy, I think it is building strength for later. Not raining yet but I think it will be soon.
-
Cannot make another insurance claim, still 6 months into the pipe under floor.
I think you should check that - otherwise you've got no cover if the house burned down or something. Try contacting them, the worst they can do is say no.
-
Grey skies, around 6ºC, wind getting up but best of all nearly a whole millimetre of rain so far. That's a whole litre of the wet stuff per square metre. With luck, a lot more to come. Yes, it's a bank holiday!
-
We had a little drizzle yesterday and short sharp shower late yesterday evening - better than nothing I suppose ;)
Over night in the g/house it was down to 1C again BooHoo! Outside it is 10C with cloud coming and going.
-
Wind has picked up considerably and the rain has just started :D We're forecast rain all day as well.
Night time temps look like they're going to pick up at the weekend so maybe I'll start sowing my tender crops.
-
Cannot make another insurance claim, still 6 months into the pipe under floor.

I related that badly. Yes I am fully insured with no limits etc. However the insurance companies are very clever at saying well you havent maintained it. I just cannot be bothered after the last 6 months debacle.
-

Some friends of ours had a huge battle with the insurance when their house burned down. The funny thing was they won each argument and ended up with over twice what they originally claimed. I think they just looked at it as their new hobby.
Meanwhile, the winds have really picked up here and we've had 28mm of rain. Things will be growing again! :)
-
Bleating down with rain and gusty winds to boot. I still have some daffs yet to flower, some of the trees round here look as if it's still winter and I have quite a good tan. DER??? :(
-
Wet day and still raining - 10mm so far which is twice the total for the whole of April.
Fair old wind from the SW which should be a milder direction, but with the air temp only 7.6C it sure don't feel warm to me out there!
-
We've now got sunshine but still cool and windy. So far we've had 54mm of rain. More due tonight. Phew!
Meanwhile in Sheffield the desert sands are burying the streets :) - Sorry JayG
-
A tornado warning here, just ended. We dodged a bullet, no damage.
There may be damage to the north of us, where radar signature indicates debris in the air.
-
We had two very short showers yesterday that really did nothing. The wind has really picked up during today but no rain whatsoever. It is very dark though. Not looking forward to the drive to work tomorrow along the Milly as we always have what we call 'wobbly wheels' when the gusts of wind catch us. In some places we are only 8 feet away from the cliff edge.
-
It's been bitterly cold this afternoon very windy >:(
-
We had some rain at last but not a massive amount, this morning it's cold and very windy. Walking the dog it was back to hat and gloves.
-
Steady rain yesterday which was nice but could have done without the winds overnight. Warmer this morning but still a bitter nip to the wind.
-
Cold and wet. Have I mistaken early March for May?
-
In some places we are only 8 feet away from the cliff edge.
We took a road that looked much faster than the main road to Ronda in Spain. It was narrow and wound up the mountain with endless drops to the side.Eventually we reached the mountaintop town. I staggered from the car, shaking, into the nearest bar and downed a double brandy. We took the easy road down.
It's still very windy here and down at 5ºC but the greenhouses appear to have survived. We've had 56mm of rain over the last 24 hours. Expect the grass will be fair shooting up now - which will cheer the farmers who are having to supplement the pasture feed.
-
Just before I went to bed, I put buckets out to catch some rain - but they just ended up blown against the hedge :nowink:
Bright, 10C and very breezy this morning (gusting at 38mph!) so daren't risk taking the tomatoes out to the greenhouse they'd get flattened on the way ::)
-
The noise from the winds and rain last night were bad. Today a few blue patches. Max 14c but feels like 9c
the winds are WNW, doesn't feel warm to me.
-
One shower last night which lasted for about 45 minutes otherwise it was just very windy. Today has been bright and sunny but still windy but not as much as last night, no rain though. Within the first two hours of opening the shop we had sold out of greenhouse glass!
-
Bit more rain this morning but brightening up a little now. Still cold at 9ºC and a bit breezy. Really cutting wind. Can we have may weather now, please?
Last night, around 9pm, massive, heavy and low solid black clouds came over with lightening flashes. That was weird!
Good news - no damage to either greenhouse :)
-
Glorious sun but bitter wind. The rain we were promised last night did not arrive, they are now talking about rain mid afternoon, am not holding my beath.
-
I got a few bits on the line at 9am. Bought them in at 1.30 pm just before the rain. Pouring down now and feels quite cold.
-
I managed to get the tomato plants out to the g/house while it was still sunny and calm.
Now the cold wind is back and it has clouded over, and it's only 11C *sob*
-
I've just put the heating on. Grey and dark outside and I'm sure we just had a sleet shower.
-
Heavy rain/hail on and off all day. Came home and put the heating on as the damp has made me feel chilly. Timber delivery turned up during a really heavy shower so driver waited in his cab until it stopped.
-
Heavy showers on and off today, like the rest of you, not exactly warm either.
-
Cold and it feels even colder. Looks to be a sunshine and showers sort of day again with a stiff breeze. Not nice for those standing outside waiting to vote.
-
Not three bad out there - lots of blue in the sky, little breeze and dry. Still very cold for the time of year - about 8ºC
-
Yes, it feels like never-ending winter :(
Grey sky and only 7C with an overnight low in the greenhouse of 1C.
-
Cold, sunny and frosty!
Moving plants in and out is keeping me fit but I want to get them in the ground.
-
No frost but cold enough at 3ºC Grey, possibly a bit of rain to come from the heavy cloud. Bit of a breeze.
-
Frosty start again. Bright and sunny now but still cold.
-
The sky is very blue with very fluffy clouds. Lovely sitting here indoors, but in truth it is m 11c, but feelings like 7c. Has anybody still got their CH on ?
-

CH still on and got a fire going in the multifuel stove - just had a bit of rain and it's 8ºC now
-
Lovely and warm in the sunshine!
-
It started off bright and sunny but quickly clouded over, we've still the cold wind again and it's only 12C.
1.7C overnight in the greenhouse.
-
After a cold and miserable start the day turned lovely in the afternoon - promising the deluge for tomorrow (well later today now)
-
RAIN at last!!!! Started with drizzle about 11.30 last night and just carried on. Weather forecast said it will be all day.
-
It started to rain during the night, the first proper rain for months :) and so it stayed quite mild all night,10C now.
-
Rain all night to add to what we had in the week, so the bonus is it will really soak in, still raining heavily now too. Made it a soggy trip to the chickens this morning.
-
Soggy describes things here perfectly. No complaints about it, at least for a few days, I reserve the right to moan by the end of the week though :nowink:
-
Max 12c winds SW, rain has stopped now. Just got another winter jumper out and on. !
-
Rain and drizzle all day.
-
Where is the all day rain, yes it's been windy but we've not had much else. It's still very chilly though.
-
More rain over night. Grey skies and nippy breeze
-
Breezy moving towards windy. Bits of sun but mainly grey cloudy skies. At least it's a little warmer at about 12ºC
-
13c, no sun, but still those winds coming from East. today SE.
-
A lot of rain overnight. Some to blue sky this morning. Chilly wind when I took the dog on the beach but washing on the line and allotment here I come!
-
It's more like early April than May. Cold, breezy with showers. And very grey :(
-
Blue sky and sunshine. 13c, but the SW winds are really fierce today, and makes it feel cold.
-
Very heavy downpours here in between brilliant sunshine, cold when there’s no sun though
-
last night's 'low' in the g/house was 7C - hopefully we're back to normal (maybe a few Ice Saint's days to watch out for ::) )
11C outside now with blue sky and sunshine - looks like a gardening day 8)
-
Blue sky and sunny 13c, and SSW winds. Washing looks good on the line.
-
Sunshine followed by heavy shower followed by sunshine followed by heavy shower followed by sunshine followed by heavy shower followed by sunshine followed by heavy shower followed by sunshine followed by heavy shower....
You get the idea.
-
You missed out the heavy hail we had for 10 mins P1P.
-
well where should i start we loaded up the trailer with rotavator seed potatoes tools and fertilizer all ready for a days planting when i left the house bound for the allotments and the wife walked down the allotments through the fields because i took the tractor down the weather a bit overcast but fine i never took a coat
so got cracking rotavated the ground ready for planting opened up a furrow for the first planting then down came a very heavy rain storm thunder and all so we got under a plastic sheet but there was no let up so we decided to go home we both got drenched me more than the wife as i had to drive the tractor home with no cab i couldn't have been more wetter if i jumped in a river
the wife took shelter in our local co-op and i picked her up in the car i put a sheet over the trailer then took a shower and a change of clothes about an hour later the sun came out and i unloaded the trailer i think someone up there said your not planting those potatoes today you couldn't write it well yes i have will we ever get those potatoes planted
-
You missed out the heavy hail we had for 10 mins P1P.
We got that a half hour ago!
-
We're definitely a month behind. Sunshine and showers including hail at one point yet we ended up sitting outside having a cuppa. Today's started wet but the forecast says it will clear and improve. We'll see :)
-
We're definitely a month behind.
Exactly what I said to the good lady last night! Hopefully we'll get an Indian Summer to compensate.
-
It looks lovely through the window, but we've got a really chilly breeze again, plus just had a sharp shower!
It's 13C, with March wind and April showers, in May ::)
Overnight low was 7C - so an improvement in that the nights aren't so cold, and I'm grateful for that :)
-
It is just 10c all day !! the winds are SSE changing to ESE later and for tomorrow. Some rain overnight and none forecast for today.
-
It's 12C, grey and drizzly today, the overnight 'low' in the greenhouse was 8C.
-
Currently 14ºC with a threatening sky but the rain seems to be just missing us.
-
Yet another day of early morning sunshine then it waits until you're all garbed up to do some gardening which means sudden bursts of rain, so eventually give up, get changed, the sun comes out, etc, etc.
-
Mostly soggy. Mostly.
-
Pouring with rain. Started about 5.30 and showing no sign of letting up.
-
Grey and more grey, 9C outside now and also 9C overnight in the greenhouse :(
I know showers are hit and miss, but they keep missing us - I don't mind grey if it is actually going to rain, cos we're still quite dry here, otherwise it's just depressing.
-
Soggy overnight and cool. Still wearing my winter coat and hat to walk Max of a morning. Grey drizzle out there at the moment and I'm considering putting the heating on.
-
Typical April weather. sunshine and showers, cool. Oh - it's May
-
Grey and dry not to cold :)
-
Grey and miserable morning but it's brightened up a treat now.Bet it wont last though.
-
As yesterday, hoping it will do the same and clear up at lunchtime.
-
Piddling it down, that puts paid to any outside work, I’ll have to attack the ironing I suppose
-
Piddling it down, that puts paid to any outside work, I’ll have to attack the ironing I suppose
We've operated a no-iron method for many years. :)
Showery here - not too warm at 12ºC either.
-
We've operated a no-iron method for many years. :)
Sounds like cult activity to me ;)
-
Soggy still. Showers on and off but warmer again.
We've operated a no-iron method for many years. :)
I too worship at the fold and forget alter. No ironing here since I stopped wearing a shirt and tie for work.
-

Showery here - not too warm at 12ºC either.
Haha, I wish but depends wh9 brings it in off the line as to how much goes in the ironing basket
-
Been drizzling on and off all morning, I got soaked popping up to the Co op.
Then it eased off a bit, but now we've got a full-scale thunderstorm and torrential rain, overflowing the gutters. So the footpath is flooded again ::)
-
Sunshine and showers most of the day and an almost biblical downpour about an hour ago which we only just dodged.
-
Rain first thing this morning until about 9am then it has been dark, bright, dark then bright again for the rest of the day with no more rain.
-
Soggy.
More rain over night and misty drizzle this morning, warmer again but everything now has that damp feel to it. Central heating turned itself on this morning too - Duvet day.
-
Soggy here too :(
Polytunnel play beckons.
-
Bright and sunny 11C right now, but a repeat of yesterdays heavy showers is forecast ::) Overnight low in g/house was 8C
I've got lots of potting on to do, though - just to keep myself busy
The forecast was right, it's persisting down now ::)
-
A grey, mild day 11C; after a mild, damp night, 9C overnight in the greenhouse.
More rain showers forecast for this afternoon ::)
Really am getting fed up with this now - but there's not much change in the forecast for, at least, another couple of weeks *sigh*
Raining again by 11.30am :(
-
Sunshine and showers but warmer. Very April'esk in a couple more weeks and we might get May weather
-
Cool at around 10ºC, very cloudy but at least it's not raining. Gentle breeze.
-
13c max. here again today, very dark clouds, then rain, then a peep of sun. Keeping dashing out for more planting. The forecast is not good for the rest of the week.
-
A splash of rain this morning followed by glorious sunshine and warmth. I celebrated by going to the tip.
-
I like your style P1P :nowink:
-
I like your style P1P :nowink:
I don't...
-
It's a bright sunny 12C this morning, more showers forecast for this afternoon, though.
A low of 7C in the g/house last night.
-
Calm, sunny, few clouds in a blue sky. It's like a day in May should be.
-
Bright sunny and clam here too. I'm suspicious the weather is planning something :nowink: It's enticing me to hang out the laundry or start cutting the grass only to then start pouring down.
-
I think the thermometer has got stuck ! 13c again. Lots of cloud about and quite blowy. It is worse for the rest of the week :(
-
Lovely sunny morning got a bit blowey this afternoon but still sunshine this evening :)
-
It was a bit grey this morning and there were showers around, but I went to the plot for a quick visit. Hid under the trees a couple of times when more showers struck, then the sun came out and we had a bonus of T-shirt weather for a couple of hours :)
I stayed to make the most of it and did a load of planting out and weeding, then the clouds gathered again. As I pulled onto the drive there was thunder rumbling overhead ::)
-
Grey sky this morning, with bits of blue, calm and 10C, the overnight low in the greenhouse was 7.5C.
-
Supposed to be a solid sun day, a dry day, a cut the grass day
It's been raining and the sky is grey >:(
-
Warm, sunny and clam first thing this morning, but it's clouded over and the wind has picked up now.
-
Pegged out the washing, but I expect it will come in soon as the clouds are starting to build up. Max 14c and blowy. Thursday and Friday we have some terrible wind gusts, 60mph. Batten down the hatches.
-
Bright sun, rain, hail and then rain again. Repeat continually throughout the day. It seems that as soon as the roads/pavements dry out the cycle starts again.
-
Bright sun, rain, hail and then rain again. Repeat continually throughout the day. It seems that as soon as the roads/pavements dry out the cycle starts again.
Yup! Bright sun so I dashed to the plots to plant my tall peas, just got them in and heard a rumble in the distance. I looked up and a big black cloud was on its way - got home just as the first heavy drops started. Boy, was I lucky it was a deluge ::) The path is flooded again but at least I didn't have to water the peas :nowink:
-
We've had a beautiful day a few spots when we arrived home still sunny now at 6-30 tonight :D
-
Fantastic warm and sunny day, with only a brief, but heavy, hailstorm this afternoon.
-
Cooler and overcast again this morning but dry at the moment. Greenhouse weather.
-
Grey and miserable this morning, again :(
4C overnight in the greenhouse and only 11C in there now. Everything inside is dripping so door now open wide, but we have a wind warning from lunchtime and full-on storm force wind warning for tomorrow. So I guess the grape vine will get mildew again this year.... Maybe time to dig it out
-
If it was mid February it would be OK, as it's May I'm not too impressed.
-
Early morning, it is 15 C now, and clear, 28 C later.
Next week could be tough, we are expecting 35 C or more on Tuesday, highs above 32 C from Sunday to Saturday, forecast chances for rain are slim. Plans to install a shallow well for irrigation never quite materialized, I think I may regret that when I get the water bill.
-
Rain and quite a strong breeze. Just had to go out to put some of my bedding plants in the greenhouse as they've been getting too much rain lately and getting stressed like me.
-
It's grim out there! High winds, squally rain, grey and dull :( Almost a Welsh summer! :)
-
13c, but feels like 9c, winds gusting at 50, but may get stronger overnight. Bedding plants in my 30+ containers just not growing. Probably annoyed with me !
-
The wind is really getting up now as well. I've just put the clamps on, and the wires across, the Vitavia greenhouse's double doors, and moved lightweight tubs into the lee of the hedge, so they won't blow around.
Better safe than sorry ::)
-
Very windy and very heavy showers. The warning from the Met. Office was moved forward for the Island earlier today. The Cats. and the Hovercraft are not running and we have been warned to expect delays on the main ferries as well this evening and tomorrow. Good thing we aren't planning to go anywhere.
-
Soggy still after steady rain overnight. Still a bit of a wind about but nothing like yesterday. Grey again :( - it does feel like it's been a very grey year so far.
edit : 11:00 am I've had to turn the central heating on  .
-
Another grey day (you are right Lardman!)
I think the local wind force measure has broken, as it's saying no wind or gusts  Met office interactive is showing gusts about 48mph.
Low of 8c overnight and 10C now, I daren't open the greenhouse to check the inside low temp though
Good luck everybody, stay safe.
PS how windy does it have to be for a storm to get named
-
PS how windy does it have to be for a storm to get named
Depends if my greenhouse is still standing!
Less windy now, around 10ºC - very wet. We've had 55mm in the last 24 hours according to wireless gizmo.
-
Windy!!! Just rescued wheely bin from the middle of the road. Feel as if house is about to take off.
-
Wind has calmed a bit since this morning but the rain is still here.
-
Still very windy. 85mph round the Needles last night. Been trying to rain all day as well. We work West Wight (Needles side) but live East Wight which is a bit more sheltered but as the forecast is for the rain to move eastwards, sounds like it is heading our way.
-
I’ve been saying all day that it’s gone autumnal & then the BBC weather lady said the same. Really strong winds overnight & all day that has had me fearing for my new poly tunnel & really heavy driving rain from all directions
-
Grey, damp and cool. The wind has let up though which is nice, I've not checked for damage yet.
-
Grey, damp and cool. The wind has let up though which is nice,
Same here, I can actually open the dripping wet greenhouse ::)
A low of 6C in there over the last couple of nights.
-
Lot calmer, still spitting and drizzling, 7ºC this morning.
Not looking good for a bit according to the Met Office :(
-
13c just for a couple of hours. light grey sky, heavy rain on and off. One more little bit of planting to do.
-
Much better than yesterday although the wind in the last couple of hours has started to pick up and we have a few spits and spots of rain.
-
Grey and cool but calm and dry.
-
Woke up to calm and brilliant sunshine 8) so opened the greenhouses and put some washing in the machine.
It has gradually clouded over and the wind is getting up, so I may have to take the washing off the line, before it blows away. I really should have checked the forecast
-
Cold, wet and windy. Not a day to play outside :(
-
Not nice, cold wind and light grey. Put washing on line for 40 mins, then had to ring it in. I am going to wrap up and go out planting - poor little plants
-
It has been grey all day here, but is now getting windy again and there is rain blowing about in it all. It is not that cold, but it seems that way when you are out in it.
-
got up to a grey but fine day so decided to re-build a piece of wall that had decided to break up overwinter having had my ear bent to fix it from my other half ;)
so got cracking got the bricks of the wall mixed up the mortar got half way through the job and down came the rain i won't telly you what i said Il leave that to your imagination >:(
is this s---d rain ever going to let up
-
Grey and cool. Light winds and dry at the moment, although it doesn't look like it will stay that way for long.
-
Still cold and grey with light rain but they're promising a bit of respite on Tuesday and Wednesday.
-
Grey and cool. Light winds and dry at the moment, although it doesn't look like it will stay that way for long.
Same here ::) and just started raining as I was typing !
-
Rain again as I type, time to fetch the washing in & not peg out the 2nd load methinks
-
Bright sunshine and then very heavy showers all day. The wind has also got up this afternoon.
-
Soggy, Grey, Cool but Calm. Someone please remind me how long until summer solstice...
-
Bright start to the day, cool and crisp first thing. Forecast for Worcester has been revised this week, looks like we're pretty much clear of rain after today and the temperature is going rise as the week goes on.
-
Bright and sunny at 7.30 am, I thought I'd get out in the garden today :D
2 cups of tea and an hour later, and it has reverted to dark grey and dismal 10C, again *sigh*
-
21st June, Summer Solstice All restrictions lifted and my birthday, Mother always said it was the longest day !!
Meanwhile here at the ranch, was sunny for short while this morning, but it has clouded over now and still more blowy and chilly than I would like. 13c.
-
Sunny but breezy, about 4pm it started to drizzle which it is still doing now. Whoops, now a really heavy shower!
-
Bit of drizzle first thing this morning but it's brightened up. Stiff breeze but sunny and warmer than the last few days. About time too I need to run the mower over the
dandelions grass.
-
It was a fair afternoon yesterday but today looks set to be wonderful. Warm sun from a deep blue sky with some white clouds moving over. Already 12ºC and rising.
Time to tackle the grass methinks!
-
It's a lovely bright morning, with the sun coming and going, 10C. It dropped to 6C overnight in the greenhouse, so it's still on the chilly side.
Forecast gradually improves through the rest of the week, so fingers crossed.
-
Up to 14c for a short while later. Some blue sky but mostly cloud, keeping an eye on the washing.
-
Cloudy with repeated showers. Nothing new round here. >:(
-
another grey day here grounds still wet had about 10 minuets of drizzle rain temp not very warm nothing seems to be germinating in both the poly tunnel or the greenhouses is the weather ever going to get warmer I've seen some sheep missing there woolly coats I bet they wish it would get warmer :D
-
Started out bright and cool, now it's bright and warm out. Just about to sit in the garden with my dinner, a beer and the sound of birdsong :)
-
Blue sky and sunshine here :D
-
Blue sky and sunshine here :D
Snap! Hope it lasts, lots to catch up with
Overnight low in the g/house was 6C up to 23C already, when I opened the doors. 13C outside 8)
-
Looking lovely here :)
About time too!
-
Cold start to day the day - just 4c when I was walking the dog but it's brightened and warmed up now. Windows open, fresh air in but I'm stuck inside waiting for a delivery :( I wanna play outside !
-
T-shirt off weather working in the garden, what a turnaround in just a few days.
-
We had a lovely day yesterday but it's grey skies and light rain for today. At least the grass is cut!
-
Well, we're back to grey and it still feels cool at 10C, overnight it was down to 6C.
I'm not impressed with the weather forecaster's hype :(
-
Me neither. It was supposed to be a cloudy but fine day so I began a few jobs then got rained off. >:(
-
Warm with the odd light shower.
-
Cool at 8ºC, grey skies, drizzle but not much wind. On the plus side, the forecast is fantastic for Sunday onwards.
-
We had fog this morning. Sign of summer - early fog then warm. Not sure about this forecast of a sudden heatwave mind.
-
Must be a BH weekend - how do I know ? Cos it's raining :nowink:
Grey again, warmer and with drizzle (actually feels like blight weather), forecast is for better weather tomorrow, but then they said that yesterday.
-
Warm, Sunny and bright so far this morning. :) I'm getting the laundry in asap so I can play in the garden.
-
Today is made glorious summer :D
Probably rain tomorrow :(
-
No sign of any sun here atm, sings "grey skies, all of them grey" and 11C. Overnight low in the greenhouse was 8C.
Fingers crossed that the sun and the high of 17C in the forecast ,will arrive later ::)
-
Beautiful hot suns today but with a breeze to cool you & trick you into forgetting to use the sun tan lotion! Yesterday I was in the pool with the grandchildren in their garden (it is heated & 2ft deep- 5yr old granddaughter told me we were having a pool party lol)
-
Absolutely glorious sun and warmth out, I even did some weeding to spend time out in it! Quick drink and then back out to find more garden jobs to do.
-
No sign of any sun here atm, sings "grey skies, all of them grey" and 11C. Overnight low in the greenhouse was 8C.
Fingers crossed that the sun and the high of 17C in the forecast ,will arrive later ::)
It did it was a beautiful, sunny afternoon, but with a nagging easterly breeze - which stopped it getting too hot while you were working, but you noticed it as soon as you stood still ::)
-
Another beautiful day :D
-
Another beautiful day :D
-
Bit grey and cloudy this morning and only 9c, it's forecast to clear and be another nice but not overly hot day.
-
A lovely sunny morning and 12C now, with the barest hint of the easterly that has been taking the edge of the temperature - 9C overnight low in the g/house.
Forecast is for sun all day 8) Fingers crossed :D
-
After a lovely day yesterday, today is going to be.....
LOVELY AGAIN!
Oh weather gods, you are spoiling us! :D
-
Saturday was glorious, Son and wife, and grandchildren put on their wet suits and said the sea was lovely, I sat and watched ! Yesterday was the same, sat on the greensward beside the beach and played a variety of bat and ball games. Today, it is hotter still, but they have gone now, all the washing is getting dry quickly. But still the wind is coming from the NE.
-
Weekend has been fabulous, spent in garden with books and vino.
Lovely morning blue skies and not a cloud to be seen, just back from walking the dog on the beach. WHY can't people take their rubbish home?
-
... WHY can't people take their rubbish home?
Totally agree with you there. It's set to be lovely today, lots of holidaymakers about to enjoy it too.
-
Another beautiful day, lots of lovely walks away from the maddening crowds :)
-
Can people visiting not only pick up their rubbish but also learn to drive! Five times on our way home we have been cut up/ had people jump lights/drive at under the speed limit. I mean 20mph down a 50mph road! Visit the Island by all means but behave yourselves, roll on September when you leave us alone again. (Sorry in grumpy mood tonight).
-
Bright, sunny and warm with just a bit of a breeze. Nice :) I'd be happy if it stayed like this for a few weeks.
-
Bright, sunny and warm with just a bit of a breeze. Nice :) I'd be happy if it stayed like this for a few weeks.
Same here for both : 8)
11C overnight low :) That's more like it!
-
Not as hot as yesterday but good we've just had a quick shower :)
-
Well that didn't last long.
Clouded over around 3pm yesterday and went horribly close and sticky. It's been like it ever since :( Horrible, sticky, grey and headache inducing.
-
Horrible, sticky, grey and headache inducing.
It was like that yesterday evening and still grey first thing - but it has cleared now, with a slight breeze stirring the air up a bit :)
An overnight 'low' of 16C and 19C already 8)
-
No sun yet. 16c max. winds SW, a bit more blowy than last evening when there wasn't even a flutter.
-
We've had some rain, which is good as I was thinking of watering. Grey skies but the clouds should burn off this afternoon and it's a lot cooler. Not so good for sitting out on the patio but better for working outside.
-
We've had a few days of wonderful dry heat, but that changed yesterday when we had a brief shower and since then we've had cloud cover, which as Mr Lard said has just made it muggy and oppressive. Signs of the clouds breaking just now so hopefully it'll be a bit more pleasant later in the day.
-
Cloud cover all day :)
-
After some gorgeous sun over the last few days it's grey this morning. A bit humid and not a breath of wind,.
-
Bit fresher this morning, overcast and a little cooler.
My nose is streaming, I have a stinking headache and my eyes are so itchy I'd like to take them out and wash them..... so I'm guessing the pollen is also high ::)
-
We seem to be in the Goldilocks zone - not too hot, not too cold - today :)
Lots to do out there so perfect!
-
It is grey and feels a bit cool, after the last few hot days, at 'only' 16C :nowink:
There's some rain in the forecast, so hopefully no watering to do today :)
-
Raining now.
-
We were forecast a sunny day when I checked last night, but it has been raining steadily for a few hours now. The plot and the garden will like it, but I wanted to plant all my dwarf beans today ::)
-
It has been raining steadily here all through the night and still doing it. Max today is 17c with the winds still from the North.
-
Jolly hot again but a nice coolish breeze.
-
Proper summer weather again here with just the slightest breeze to take the edge off the heat.
-
Was cooler than of late until lunchtime with plenty of cloud but still warm, then later in the afternoon the sun came out & it’s now a lovely evening.
-
Bright, sunny and a little breeze - nice again :)
-
Only 9 degrees this morning but sunny and forecast to warm up as the day progresses.
-
Beautiful day wind got up this afternoon still hot :)
-
Cooler with light rain. A relief for all the scorched pepper leaves.
-
Grey, overcast and currently raining steadily.
-
11C overnight and 20C now, and mostly sunny with a slight breeze 8)
That'll do
It's clouded over and cooled down now ::)
-
No sun here, light grey coloured sky.
-
Brightening up a little after steady drizzle all morning - total 2.6mm (might save me watering duties today but probably not tomorrow...)
-
Woke up to unforecast rain! Now cloudy, warm and muggy :(
-
They've just issued an amber warning for the Island for fog and 'other ' weather for the next couple of days. I'm fed up with all this panic, it's since the 'hurricane' which wasn't going to happen and then did. We've had so many warnings of 'thundery' weather and then nothing happens. 'Crying wolf' springs to mind because I ignore them now but one day I am going to get caught out. :nowink:
-
Warm, bit of a breeze but still on the grey side. The trend at the moment appears to be for it to clear up mid/late afternoon after a rubbish start to the day.
-
Another lovely calm sunny start to the day 19C 8)
Overnight low of 11C
-
Cloudy start but warm, calm and dry. Nice weather for getting things done outside. Strangely the last hours of the day always seem best here - sunny and warm.
-
We finally had some rain last night after nearly a month. Less that 2/10ths inch (officially), though I think it may have rained more here than at the weather station.
-
Bright, high wispy cloud and the low teens already, looks like it's going to be a nice day. 8)
-
Misty with very fine rain in the breeze under grey skies. Not too cold at 14ºC though.
-
After waiting nearly 3 hours for June's batch of Windows 10 updates to download and install earlier this morning   I am now the reluctant owner of Microsoft's shiny new (unasked for) taskbar widget. :nowink:
Amongst all the other things I don't want it for, it displays the current local weather, which is apparently 16C and 'mostly cloudy.'
It's actually 22.0C with clear blue sky! :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2:

Weather is the same here!
Reading tales of Windows 10 update misery make ever so grateful that I have the Pro edition and can set group policies that stop Windows from updating until I'm ready for them!
-
The overnight low was 10C, but it's a lovely sunny day :D
It's 24C with a cooling breeze away from any shelter - in other words it's baking hot in the garden 8)
-
After a lovely day it's now clouding over and the wind has got up. It's also spitting in the wind. They did warn about it being misty and murky for the next two days but there was no mention of rain.
-
It clouded over yesterday PM and became very muggy, it was rather oppressive during the night. Grey and warm this morning.
-
We had to put the heating on yesterday :(
And it's about the same today. Complete cloud cover so we won't see the partial eclipse
-
Cloudy and cool here, as well - so you aren't the only one missing it John ::)
-
Cloudy but hot still here. Cloud due to shift in the early evening so we should get a good view of the eclipse tonight.
-

I thought it was 11 am ?
-

I thought it was 11 am ?
Ha, Shows how much attention I've been paying to things ;)
-
The partial eclipse is an AM event, but won't see it here. It's grey and quite blowy.
-
Overcast and foggy here. Not very warm either but still muggy though. England is totally obscured, it's not even a 'smudge' on the horizon.
-
Grey and cloudy all day :)
-
Another airless sticky night. The weather's the same now, grey low cloud and close and just 2 degrees hotter. Looks promising for later, it might freshen up too as there's a bit of a breeze.
-
Cloudy and 15C, dead calm. The same as overnight ::)
-
We've been in the clouds for over a day, now! Val went out yesterday to bravely seek supplies in town despite the zombie apocalypse not being over yet. As she drove downhill it went from cool, misty rain to T shirt weather!
Supposed to brighten up later with a great weekend forecast.
-
18c, grey with a bit of SW blowing. Really boring.
-
Same again :)
-
It's supposed to be a beautiful, hot sunny weekend..
Supposed to be
Solid grey, dull sky with light breeze. About 14ºC. Fingers crossed it brightens up.
-
Bright and fresher this morning, bit of cloud around (some rather grey looking) but there's a good breeze to keep things moving. Fingers crossed it improves there John, at least enough to play outside :nowink:
-
Cloudy, sunny, cloudy and repeat, warm and humid (hot when the sun is actually out) so my cardi has been on and off all day :D
-
Lovely afternoon yesterday when the cloud finally cleared but it's back this morning.Hope it burns off earlier today.
-
We're getting the same treatment today by the looks - grey and muggy start but burning off now. Warm outside in general and hot when the sun does make an entrance.
-
Light drizzly rain but it's supposed to be a nice afternoon on the way.
-
Uncomfortably hot night, clear and hot start to the day and it's very still which makes it feel hotter. I know it's Monday morning but it has the "too hot" quietness to it outside as if everyone is hiding from the heat.
-
It is 21c today, with blue sky, and the washing is on the line. Maybe too hot to iron it :D
-
Another beautiful day :)
-
Lovely start here - about 18ºC a little while ago when I opened the polytunnel up and let the chickens into the main run.
-
Bright and sunny so far and warmed up quickly this morning - fresher first thing only 9c walking the dog and there's a stiff breeze taking the edge off the heat nicely.
-
Quite warm but grey with drizzle, rain, drizzle, rain (repeat a lot)
Oh well - keeps the tourists away! (In case the roadworks fail)
-
I really could do with some of your rain/drizzle please John. 22c maximum here today with SSE breezes, but rain forecast for tomorrow - maybe
-

I sure do hope we get some rain at least, I'm fed up with using the watering can, the far end of my plot is a long way from the stand-pipe
-

Here are the rain/storm showers moving in a slightly east of north direction - I'm sure at least one will have your name on it MoS! ;)
-
Here are the rain/storm showers moving in a slightly east of north direction - I'm sure at least one will have your name on it MoS! ;)
Well it's clouded over now, so I'm hopeful :D
-
It clouded over and we thought 'here we go'. Two minutes of rain and back to sunshine. We are however going to move the beans and other 'babies' from the outside window ledge to a sheltered position 'just in case' .
-
Whenever stormy weather is a possibilty I like to have this site open in the background
https://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en#m=oss;t=3;s=0;o=0;b=;ts=0;y=53.7877;x=-1.4832;z=6;d=2;dl=2;dc=0;src=4;
It's quite hypnotising watching the lightning strikes in nearly real time.
-
Gentle steady rain started here about 15 minutes ago and is still falling. I think the light show and thunderclaps are predicted for later on.
-
You've got rain but no thunder and lightning - it's the other way rounds here, what my Mum used to call a 'dry storm' - it's terribly humid, and not good for sleeping unless the storm finally breaks...
-
Started raining about 9 last night and has carried on bucketing down all night. Not a huge amount of thunder and lightening, still raining hard. I can almost sees the grass growing.
-
It finally started raining sometime during the night, everything is sodden now :)
Just what the garden needed, but the wrong time for the climbing roses, around the door - there are now petals all over the foot path :nowink:
-
We managed drizzle. Its made it very unpleasant and it needs a good storm to clear the air, it's very muggy.
-
Our measly share of the rain yesterday was 2mm. :nowink:
Cloudy day today, a bit humid but at 20C max it hasn't felt too bad.
Looking at the rain radar now - rain to the south of us, rain to the west - stuck in the middle with now't! :(
-
We've had a few showers but nothing else. It's really dark and muggy, we've got the main lights on and the doors open. There's no draught and no bird song. It rained over night as the flat roof had it's usual puddles.
-
Rained overnight yesterday on and off, but no storms. Today was cooler, but still humid. It started raining again about an hour ago and was quite heavy for a while. I have the window open to catch a breeze and swear I can hear the garden plants sighing with relief :)
-
Dry and grey first thing. Now tipping it down, no thunder or lightening for which my dog is truly grateful.
-
just a max of 17c today, quite blowy NNE. It has absolutely poured down, and as my carport has been taken down, ready for the new-build, my garage is a bit wet !!! But need the roofer before the carport can be constructed. ::)
-
Poured down all day relentlessly. No thunder and lightning still. Lots of overflowing drains and large puddles which Paul delights in driving through. Thank goodness for a diesel van.
-
It's rained on and off all day, it's still been humid but a lot cooler now, so better for sleeping tonight.
-
We had a decent day yesterday, fairly sunny, warm but not hot and the only fault was a little too breezy.
Today looks set for a greyish day, possibly a little drizzle later.
-
Another grey warm, day, and forecast to stay like that all day. Can I have the sun back for at least a little while, pretty please?
-
About the same as Mum. 16c all day, winds ESE.
-
Are we really supposed to celebrate Solstice and Midsummer soon when we have wind and rain whipping round our house? I've put the little heater on as I was cold. I've yet to wear a summer top! Can we go back to last year and the lovely weather we had then.
-
Very grey and muggy all day  . It's just started to rain so hopefully that will freshen things up.
-
After early showers it turned out lovely and bright this afternoon. We went for a drive to Ventnor and sat on the prom and had an ice cream (lolly for me as I can't eat ice cream). Lots of people out and about.
-
About 20 minutes of sunshine over the whole weekend and nearly 24 hours of continuous rain on Friday. What a waste of 16 hours of daylight.
This site which I picked up off a weather forum shows how wet it has been in the SE in June so far, largely thanks to Friday
http://starlingsroost.asuscomm.com/weather/ukobs/rain_month_anomaly_map.php?synop=true&month=06&year=2021 (http://starlingsroost.asuscomm.com/weather/ukobs/rain_month_anomaly_map.php?synop=true&month=06&year=2021)
-
Grey - pretty windy too which is making it feel cooler than it is. We had a bit of rain over night but not so as you'd notice this morning.
-
It's raining, it's quite breezy, and only 14C out there :(
I'm sitting here, with my cardi on, thinking 'shall I put the c/h on?'...
-
A grey day here but light breeze and no rain. About 15ºC which is not brilliant but it could be worse - and believe me, it could be!
-
not getting above 13c today with NE wind. Have cancelled hairdressers !! Heavy rain has eased off a bit now, but really blowing quite hard. I am contemplating the CH as well ::)
-
The forecast band of rain is passing over here now - too weak to even deliver any drizzle, but it has dropped the temperature to just 10C - not great given the brisk NE breeze. :(
-
It's rained non-stop all day. Not too windy but very quiet in the shop.
-
Another miserable attempt at a summer day. 13C and rain all day. The weather has been dreadful in the SE over the last five days at a time of the year you really don't need it. Most of my holidays in the Scottish Highlands over the last 30 years have had better weather than this last week in Sussex.
-
We've just had a short hail storm! What is going on with the weather? Did we have too much good weather last year and this year is making up for it?
-
I'm sitting here, with my cardi on, thinking 'shall I put the c/h on?'...
Heating, in summer?
-
Nine degrees here but sunny and bright.
-
Supposed to be a nice day here in Snowdonia. The council have sent extra workers to the anti-tourist roadworks!
Sunny, calm, dry and warm - perfect! :D
-
I'm sitting here, with my cardi on, thinking 'shall I put the c/h on?'...
Heating, in summer?
Mine turned itself on yesterday  , the thermostat in the hallway was set to 16c, it's not anymore !
Very windy this morning and we're going from grey and miserable to bright sunshine and back rapidly. we're also forecast single figure temperatures overnight.
-
Here, it grey, 12C and the wind is gusting at 29mph from the NE. Forecast is for a 'high' of 15C.
The heating is on - only the calendar is indicating that this is summer - the weather certainly isn't :tongue2:
-
no higher than 16c all day, but it is not that at present. It is grey, and windy NNE winds shifting to NE .
I did resist the CH, but have now got the thermal vest on.
-
Bit cool, bit grey, bit of drizzle - not much of anything day today :(
-
Light cloud here, with the odd bit of blue, 14C with a NE breeze :(
Overnight low of 8C in the greenhouse
-
Bright and sunny - warm in the sun and cool out of it, generally a fresher feel (Id like it to stay like this please) Last night was shockingly cold though - I considered getting a blanket to put on the bed
-
Last night was shockingly cold though - I considered getting a blanket to put on the bed
I got up and put a bedspread on over the summer-weight duvet when I woke up cold at about 2am ::)
-
Bright and clear, I see England has decided to float back and join us, first time for nearly a week. Not very warm though. I too got up in the night and threw my dressing gown on top of the duvet as I was cold last night.
-
After five consecutive days with hardly any sun and a lot of rain, NW England has taken its climate back and we finally have a sunny day here in W Sussex.
-
Fresh start followed by a bright, sunny and increasingly warm day. Sadly I'd been accosted by a friend to replace a fence post at an elderly neighbours house and sweated buckets busting up concrete, digging and placing the new post.
-
... and back to grey, warm and muggy but with the added bonus of drizzle. :nowink:
-
Looks like a soggy, foggy day today. We own as far as the eye can see! A little warmer than predicted at 15ºC which is a little consolation.
-
Very high cloud with patches of blue. maximum 19c with SW winds.
-
Barely any rain in well over a month with parched lawns and sickly-looking shrubs. Our field, since the last pony passed away last year, has chest-high grass and is a tinder-trap. Hopefully about to change with a brisk NW wind, increasing cloud and temperature falling to 15C at moment with forecast 13C maximum tomorrow
-
Very high cloud with patches of blue. maximum 19c with SW winds.
Snap!
This afternoon has had more blue, than this morning 8)
Now at nearly 7pm there are rumbles of thunder, in the distance, and it has started spitting ::)
-
Misty rain this morning, followed by muggy warm weather. Just started to cloud over and I heard a peal of thunder.
-
Cloudy all day and quite breezy. The forecast for later sounds soggy.
-
Well it brightened up here in the afternoon but we're back to misty grey and damp. Quite cool at around 12ºC as well. We've had about 10 mm of rain overnight which the plants will appreciate.
-
Miserable grey 16c later ? I think it has been raining most of the night and still is blowing about.
-
15C here now and overnight in the greenhouse.
Low cloud and mizzle - a lovely summer's day NOT.
-
Very wet,windy & decidedly chilly.
-
Breezy, drizzling and cold (currently 11.9C - colder than it was at any time last night. :()
-
Puddles and cool out there this morning but set to improve as the day develops. Patches of blue in the sky between heavy clouds that are moving very slowly. Very clear - looks lovely over Anglesey.
-
Lovely and sunny this morning, sat in the g/house for my first cups of tea this morning 8) 17C outside 25C in there 8)
Clouding over now, though :(
-
High light grey cloud, but a blue patch overhead with sun. 18, but not all day ! winds ENE
I am not sure why, but I had a small amount of condensation on my windows this morning.
-
It's gorgeous! :)
Sunny, calm, blue skies and warming up nicely but not scorching. Goldilocks zone!
-
Sunny first thing, clouded over now and very muggy. A day to.potter.
-
I know it's warmer than winter, @ 17C - but that's what it looks like through the window, grey and drizzly rain with heavier rain forecast for this afternoon.
Thoroughly depressing pffft!
-
Just the same here Mum. Grey with a chilly E wind, and its raining with heavier to follow. Drat.
-
Just grey here and an occasional gust of wind made it feel chilly at times.
-
Rained on and off all day, it just seemed that every time we put our shoes on to go outside the weather stopped us. Gave up in the end.
-
This is weird, usually I sit here looking at the rain whilst the rest of the UK swelter in a heatwave but we've got decent weather! :) Again.
On off sunshine, no sign of rain and about 20ºC out there. Little bit of a breeze but you wouldn't call it a wind.
-
Please can we have our weather back, John?
Here it's 16C with heavy grey skies again, and the forecast from the MetO is for scattered torrential thundery downpours
by lunchtime. ::)
-
if todays weather was what we have all winter I would be a happy lady. Today is grey and 19c not much wind, and the sun is trying.
-
Dull, grey, 'high' of 16C earlier this afternoon, now 14C (definitely not 'catch-up weather' for the outdoor veg crops. :()
Hardly anything in the way of rain (again - can't view the running totals until the whole month's data is loaded by my local weather station, but I'd be surprised if we'd had much more than half an inch of rain in the whole of June so far here.)
-
Dull, overcast and rain this evening to cap it off. My new greenhouse hasn't seen a temperature above 19c yet!
-

It's a real shame that I can't share some of ours ::) Just lately it seems hardly a day goes by without some rain - and quite heavy rain at times :( It's spoilt this year's roses and the plot is getting weedy because it's rarely dry enough to hoe.
So it's no surprise to open the curtains this morning, to see more grey sky and rain :( It's all very depressing..
-
Grey sky with blue patches but no sign of rain being due. Warmer than the predictions too - about 18ºC out there. Council are redoubling their efforts to close the main entry roads to Gwynedd with roadworks to keep the refugees from southern England out :)
-
Cloudy, dry, similar temperature to yesterday (16C) - sun briefly tried to shine a few minutes ago then thought better of it. :nowink:
-
Sunny, warm and hardly a breeze. Going to be a lovely day :)
-
More of the grey stuff for us and drizzle in the forecast :(
-
Flippin' hot yet again. We've had hardly any decent rain for nearly two months now.
-
Grey, a bit windy NW, 18c. Good job I am going to watch the tennis. Did a bit of weeding yesterday, but it was hard work because it is so wet.
-
Misty, cool and cloudy. Not the start of July we'd like. :(
-
I'm hoping not to jinx things but we actually had some sunshine and warmth yesterday. Today has started the same and we're not forecast rain until the weekend.
-
We have sun  It doesn't feel very warm yet, but at least it's not raining right now - it's a start
-
It is boring ! Light grey, 17c with SW breezes. Little peeps of sunshine now and then for a second or two.
-
Grey and rather cool until around 2pm, the sun showed up and made for a pleasant afternoon and early evening.
-
15C now and cloudy, forecast is for some sunny breaks later - fingers crossed - I must tidy the garden ::)
-
Grey this morning but it's turned into hazy sunshine, still and warm. We were forecast thunderstorms but I guess they have been postponed until tomorrow.
-
Sums up how the weather Gods have been trolling the SE so far this summer.
-
Fine & sunny for most of the day, hitting the mid-20's this afternoon.
-
Sums up how the weather Gods have been trolling the SE so far this summer.
Now they know what it's like to live in Wales! :D :D :D
Where we have light rain falling from a cloudy grey sky. Little breeze, cool around 15ºC. I suppose the ground needs it so mustn't grumble.
-

We have the same and really don't need it ::)

We really don't. After the very dry April, May was cool and wet, June started off warm and sunny and rapidly deteriorated from then on. When we are about to relax COVID restrictions, the last thing the battered tourist industry needs (or most people) is a lousy washout summer. We had this nonsense last year after a sunny and bone dry April and May, restrictions eased in June, which turned into the 13th wettest on record.
-
Rain over night & showers up to now, but now lovely sunshine & warm
-
It is grey and misty, I cannot see across the Valley. Quite blowy and drizzly as well !!
-
Grey all day, never lightened up at all. Didn't get the threatened thunder storms, (again) that they said. Lightened up this evening and a bit brighter now.
-

SNAP
-
Heavy rain last night, but a beautiful, sunny and hot day for us.
-
Lovely to have some rain yesterday and overnight with more to follow today as we badly need some.
-
We did have a sunny Saturday afternoon, which was lovely - but this morning we're back to rain again :(
-
Cloudy but a few bits of blue in the sky. Bit of drizzle but that's past now. Gentle breeze. Could be worse...
-
Grey again, heavy rain overnight and more to follow, 18 with South Westerlies. Really need sunshine. So many plants with buds, but not flowering.
-
Muggy heat this morning followed by a torrential downpour this afternoon. Could be more to come as well looking at the grey skies...
-
Just had a thunderstorm pass quite near to here - a goodly deluge, thankfully no hail, temperature now recovering having dropped from 23C to 14C in about 5 minutes!
-
Quite sunny and warm out there so hopefully a nice day beckons here. Bit of rain overnight but not much, maybe a millimetre.
-
Here, it is still, 16C and cloudy, with the odd brief glimpse of blue.
-
Sunshine and heavy (road flooding) showers yesterday, steady rain over night and there's a lot of standing water about this morning. Sunny at the moment but it is clouding over and getting a it muggy.
-
We had some sunny spells this afternoon, but now the temperature is dropping (had to put a cardi on) and it feels like rain on the way.
-
From about 3 o'clock it started to get darker and darker and finally started to rain at 5 pm and has not stopped since. There is a storm warning out for the Island tonight. Lower lying plants are waving around but the taller ones are hardly moving.
-
Wind (outside, not inside ::)) woke me up at 5 and I couldn't get back to sleep.
I had to go outside and clamp the greenhouse door together, as it is gusting at 35mph from the SW directly into the greenhouse
So all my planning what I was going to do on the allotment, this morning, was a waste of time ..
-
Tipped it down all last night. Grey and muggy out now. The chilli plants are starting to sulk now.
-
Small amount of rain last night, about 0.5mm - but enough to dampen everything. Grey day today but not cold, running around 17ºC
Light rain to come later according to the met office - followed by a dry weather for 3 days. We'll see! :)
-
It rained so hard all night, one of the gutters has gone sideways. It is blowing at 35, from the north west.
only making 16c . Definitely watching the tennis and going on a tour somewhere in the World !
-
Heavy rain, dull and cool for the time of year.
-
Heavy rain, dull and cool for the time of year.
Well that's two of us suffering the same then. Not a day to be on the team emptying dustbins or being a postman.
-
It's grey, 15C, with a light misty/drizzle but at least the strong wind has dropped, so I can open the big greenhouse doors again ::)
-
It is so disappointing, the winds have dropped a bit, but it is still more than usual from the SW. No signs of sun, just grey clouds. The last few days it has suddenly got better with sun about 6pm. I am running in and out of the greenhouse with special plants in containers, and hanging baskets taken down and sitting on the ground >:(
-
Drizzly day so far but hoping it brightens up later this afternoon. It's not too bad, running at 17ºC .
-
West Wight is grey, overcast and dismal. East Wight is bright, sunny and cloudless. The Island is only 26 miles wide but the weather changes in each area. The north can vary from the south, east from west. I can be out in the garden in my bikini and Paul can be at the shop in the rain.

Better than you being at the shop in the rain and Paul in a bikini in the garden!
-
Wet overnight - sunny with a bit of a breeze now looking like a reasonable day.
-
Cloudy but it's not raining, which is good. Little breeze and quite warm at 20ºC.
-
faint sun, and lots of grey clouds. Still Windy.
-
faint sun, and lots of grey clouds. Still Windy.
Eat less beans! :)
-
A mix of bright, warm sunshine and heavy clouds. No rain today which is a plus.
-
A bit overcast, but the clouds are quite high so not as grey as it could be. We got away with just one decent sized shower yesterday, so I am hoping for the same today.
All this rain means the weeds at the plot are going crazy. The veg is growing as well, but we all know which grow faster ::)
-
Cloudy and 16C, thunderstorms forecast by lunchtime :( I better get a shift on and start on plot strimming, then. Grass paths (and weeds) are growing quicker than the veg ::)
-
Just enough rain to make it wet from a light grey sky. Quite chilly at 14ºC but it's still. The trees hardly trembling with the wind.
-
Quite pleasant sunny at 19c with gentle SW breezes. Not warm enough for me !
-
Warm but muggy this morning, then hot & Sunny this afternoon, until the get together with granddaughter & her friends to celebrate finishing school after their first year, then it started spitting with rain until it became torrential! But at least they got to play a little bit in the nearby green space & celebrate grandsons 3rd birthday a bit too.
-
Clear skies and very warm tonight.
-
Cloudy and 16C, thunderstorms forecast by lunchtime :( I better get a shift on and start on plot strimming, then. Grass paths (and weeds) are growing quicker than the veg ::)
I did get most of the strimming done before the sky turned ominous, and I dashed home just in time...
-
Grey, raining on and off, must have been heavy during the night. 16c ENE, thank goodness it is not too blowy.
-
Grey, raining on and off, must have been heavy during the night. 16c ENE, thank goodness it is not too blowy.
Snap! ::)
-
There's obviously been no weather worth reporting for the last couple of days :nowink:
Yesterday afternoon was nice sunny and warm, so got al my strimming done on the plot.
Good job 'cos today is cloudy, cool, 14C, and very, very wet. Rained most of the night, light drizzle now - but the MetO has issued a weather warning for heavy rain today  Pfft!
-
As expected, a strong depression centred on England lies over the British Isles along with much localised thundering.
The weather isn't good either.
Warm enough, just under 20ºC but damp with heavy showers forecast.
-
Yesterday was bright and warm, a lovely day... right until I went to fire up the barbecue and it started tipping it down and carried on through the night. Today is just grey and muggy.
-
on off sunshine now moving to solid sun later :) Already around 20ºC The grass is drying off in sun but still soaking in shade.
Looks like it might be summer!
-
Clear, bright and warm without being too hot. Mid-late Mayesk. Ran the mower over and put the washing out.
-
Today is a tad warmer than yesterday, with brighter spells - it feels very humid after yesterday's rain.
Perfect blight weather tbh
-
Much brighter and warmer BUT my hayfever is hitting me hard. I had a day of light relief on Monday during the rain but today I'm suffering.
-
Something's shedding pollen - sneezing before I got up this morning. Looks like a reasonable day ahead here. On and off sunshine, pretty warm but not scorchio.
-
Not a break in the clouds this morning, 15C and the wind is coming from the North
Forecast was for better weather from today, but it doesn't look like it right now...
-
Cloudy start, but breaking up nicely now, 19C with a fair old breeze - perfect for the gardening jobs lined up for today. :)
-
It's a windy NNW, and I suppose the grey clouds will clear. Should be 25C !!!
-
Turning into a hot afternoon, mercifully my outdoor jobs are done.
-
Beautifully warm & sunny but with a strong breeze
-
Warm here too, stiff breeze which is nicely taking the edge of what would otherwise be a bit too warm for me.
-
There is a welcome yellow thing in the sky and it’s warming up!
-
Cool, misty and cloudy start to the day here but warm sunshine to follow and stay for at least a week according to the forecast.
Time to get the hosepipes out again and be ready.
-
The sun has got his hat on :D but wind is gusting at about 18/20mph from the North, which spoils things somewhat ::)
The sun does lift the spirits though 8)
-
Patchy sunshine and a stiff breeze warm in the sun but not so much out of it.
-
Getting too warm now, didn't enjoy mowing the lawn today.
-
Bright blue sky and sunshine looks on track for a hot one! HH
-
Yesterday was fair but not what was promised - today looks set for solid sunshine :)
-
It turned cloudy at lunchtime yesterday, and it is still cloudy this morning and 'feels like' 13C with that NE wind again :(
Where's all the heat/sunshine we're meant to be having?
-
Cloudless, 21.9C already, breeze from the north but only averaging 3mph - borderline too warm for anything energetic in the garden unless I pull my finger out!
-
Where's all the heat/sunshine we're meant to be having?
Snowdonia :D
-
24 max. It is very pleasant. the breezes are NNE, but the sky is blue. What a time to have large drying out machines, belching out hot air. !!
-
27c and no breeze.
-
It was nice around 7am but a bit on the warm side for me now. Not looking forward to trying to sleep tonight.
-
Sunny and quite warm but with a light breeze which takes the edge off the heat. The beaches we passed on the way home were packed.
-
It turned cloudy at lunchtime yesterday, and it is still cloudy this morning and 'feels like' 13C with that NE wind again :(
Where's all the heat/sunshine we're meant to be having?
It showed up after lunch 8)
-
Too warm inside overnight but pleasant outside around 7am walking the dog. Looking at the temperature forecast I think it'll be an inside day for me.
-
Looks set for Scorchio today! Might get a few items knocked off the jobs list before the heat gets too bad.
-
Woo hoo! Even we have sunshine today 8)
We get to keep the NE breeze, so don't think we'll get the very high temps that are forecast for some - which suits me just fine :D
-
Rather hot but nice in the shade with a gentle breeze wafting around.
-
Hot, hot. hot!
-
It is nice and warm here but I'm a hay fever sufferer and at the moment it's putting me off going outside. Neighbours are cutting grass etc and I'm suffering. I walked up to the end of the garden to put out the rubbish and it took me an hour to stop sneezing and coughing.
-
Awakened at 5:45am by two cats demanding breakfast. Loudly. Fed them and back to bed until 8:30 which was later than planned. The polytunnel, despite being open at both ends to allow a cooling breeze and only having been in full sun for half an hour, was 28ºC
It's really scorchio already. Hotter than the met office's predicted 24ºC midday peak. A day for sitting in the shade.
-
Summer has finally arrived in the SE, but as usual the pendulum swings the other way. Weeks of 18C with cloud and rain swings to 30C and sunny. I'm not complaining too loudly but if it were 5C cooler it would be ideal. Happy mediums seem to be very rare these days.
Yesterday I was on the community plot and my plot for a couple of hours in the afternoon, and just didn't have the energy to do anything physical beyond watering and a small amount of weeding. I don't know if it was purely the weather, or the second COVID jab an hour earlier, but I felt the life being sucked out of me as the afternoon went on.
-

From what I've heard, it's probably best to avoid strenuous exercise for a day or two after a vaccination as your body concentrates on building up your defences. Sounds reasonable to me, anyway.
-
Sunny and seriously hot (31) here now. Pleased I watered the plot at 7.00 this morning (15) even if I surprised myself. HH
-
Scorching, was 27c in the tunnel at 7;30 this morning & had got to 47c yesterday
-
Oh so hot here, but if you find a shady spot to sit in there's a nice welcome breeze to cool you down.
-
It is 30c here now. The Driers are marking the kitchen unbearable. Some plants have been moved to a shady area.
-
Nice around 7am but unpleasantly hot since.
-

I have largely been taking it easy this weekend, mainly because I find it unpleasant to do anything strenuous in 30+C heat. Preparing for distrubed sleep as the upstairs of my house is estimated around 28C and it is forecast to not drop below 18C overnight. At least I only have to deal with it for a week.
-

Lucky for you!! but it just shows how people really do register temperature differently. I slept easily last night ;)
It's cold/damp weather that I don't like as it makes my old bones ache and in this country, I have to deal with that kind of weather for months on end :(

It was a lot easier to sleep than I had anticipated. Left windows open all night, slept on top of duvet, and house had cooled to 21C by morning. If you suffer in cold damp weather you have my sympathy, that sums up three quarters of the UK's climate. You must have been fed up in May/June this year, two consecutive wet months in SE England, at a time of the year the weather is normally pretty good .
-
Very hot and only an occasional breeze.
-
After a really lovely morning, we've got black clouds coming over and distant rumbles of thunder :nowink:
So is this the typical end to a UK heatwave? It was good while it lasted 8)
-
Send it up here MoS, it's so bad I've had to dig out a pair of short I bought in the 90's, and nobody needs/wants to see my legs
-
Scorchio - very Scorchio!
Went up to the poly for a few hours before it reached unbearable - which arrived at 11am
-
Nice outside at 7am, a clean heat - still hot but fresh. An awful night though with a low in the bedroom of 27c even with the windows open and a fan running.
-
Much harder to sleep last night. I did do some weight training at the gym late evening (amazing how many people are training at quarter to midnight) which meant I couldn't leave the windows open all evening, so my house was more stuffy than the previous night when I went to bed. I'm not going out this evening so will be able to optimise the cooling.
-
Once again, scorchio
Watering at midnight last night so it soaked in rather than burning off in seconds.
-
Another scorchio day here. It was ok in the shade early on as there was a nice little breeze but now - phew!
-
Very hot out there :)
-
Another hot day, not as hot as yesterday, though!
There are a line of thunderstorms that seem to be tracking Eastwards, just to the North of us, we can see the clouds, hear the distant thunder - but are getting none of the rain ::) It's a shame, it would save me having to water everything tonight ::)
-
Unpleasantly hot, sticky and not nice. Dog walked at 5.00am, no second walk till temperature drops. Storm last night with lots of thunder but not much rain.
-
Unpleasant, 28c upstairs all night. and still that now.
-
It seemed less humid and quite nice at 8am but now it's hot as hell and am staying in unless I have to go outside.
-
24 riing to 26c but a little bit hazy. The wind is ESE, but it is not very blowy. It is 29c in my kitchen, and the noise is driving me mad !!!!
-
It was bearable until about 11am and after that it was hide under the sunshade on the patio. Watering heavily - but moving a sprinkler in the dark is not as easy as in the day. They call me the midnight waterer :) (with apologies to the Rolling Stones)
-
Still too hot. 27c no cloud and very still; there's no air movement at all today.
-
Lovely and sunny with a slight breeze cooling things down a bit 8)
Plants in the garden borders are beginning to look a bit crispy, so I'll have to get the hose out later, I was rather hoping the thunderstorms would get here before I had to ::)
-
The most scorchio day we've had so far and it's around 29C. Strangely it's a bit cooler in my little greenhouse with the jungle of sweet corn and tom leaves and white shading paint on the outside glass but I've given it a good damping down anyway.
-
31c for the fourth day running. Had enough now.
-
29C is today's max (again) - clouded up somewhat now and I can see a couple of thunderstorms have formed just to the south of us, heading in the Coventry/Birmingham direction if they last that long...
Definitely had enough too, although the sweetcorn has loved it (6' tall without the tassels, which are just forming on one or two of them, probably just in time to get drenched by the forecast thunderstorms. :nowink:)
-
.... the sweetcorn has loved it (6' tall without the tassels, which are just forming on one or two of them, probably just in time to get drenched by the forecast thunderstorms. :nowink:)
Sounds about right to me
-
Too hot overnight again (28c) but feels a bit better outside this morning, slight breeze so I've opened everything up in an attempt to get some fresher air in. Every time I check the forecast the rain has moved a few hours further away :( It really needs a good soaking to take the edge of things now.
-
Cooler here this morning with a breeze, which is far preferable to the hot airless feel we have had.
Our rain is predicted for the early hours of tomorrow morning followed by the end of the world. Well maybe not that bad, but storm, torrential rain and flash flooding warnings have been issued
-
It's coming to the end, or maybe just a welcome break. Phew!
The misters have been holding the polytunnel temperatures to tolerable but that's not really a solution for inside the house!
-
Grey this morning, so much cooler - I'm hoping to get the grass cut, at last, before the deluge begins :D
-
ENE winds, and the washing is spinning on the line. the sky is white it was 23 earlier but up to 25 now.
-
A hazy blue sky with a nice breeze but it's still very hot in the sun.
-
Still hot but what started as a breeze this morning has been picking up steadily all day. We have an amber weather warning for the Island for tonight and tomorrow.
-
Still hot but what started as a breeze this morning has been picking up steadily all day. We have an amber weather warning for the Island for tonight and tomorrow.
Just watching lightningmaps.org and I can see the storms coming across the channel towards you now...
We've been very hot here again but a strong breeze picked up around teatime and the temperature is plummeting rapidly.
-
Thanks for that , it will probably wait until I've been asleep for a couple of hours and then hit. The tree o v ver the road is really bending now and we have shut the windows and doors even thought we are hot . We don't normally shut the windows on the van until later but I've made sure they're shut n ow.
-
No sign of the rain yet :( There a pretty storng breeze making it feel cooler but it's still very warm out of it.
-
Very distant (but loud enough to wake us) thunder at 1am. Heavy rain but at the moment dry but dull. Wind has dropped.
-
It's starting to break here. More cloud, cool breeze and merely 15ºC currently. Yesterday I had to take a cat to the vet late afternoon and it was 32ºC according to the car.
-
Big thunderstorm woke me up at 6ish and rumbled on for an hour or so, I expected everything to be drenched this morning. It did rain, but there wasn't much in the buckets I put along the path to collect it :(
It's 17C, the sky is still grey, so we may get some more, fingers crossed.
-
Dull, 17C, slight breeze - no rain here since 13th July, and none forecast until next Tuesday at the earliest...
-
Much cooler than the last week but no sign of the rain we were promised.
-
No sign of rain and they keep moving it on the forecast which is now Tuesday. It's gone back to being grey, overcast and humid :( Slight breeze from the east but not enough to make things feel fresher.
-
Another day filled with sunshine but they're promising it will be a lot cooler.. we'll see.
Still bone dry :(
-
A couple of drops of rain yesterday but not enough to wet a stamp! But enough on the forecast to cancel our trip on our friends new canal boat for the day  so that’s now on Monday, fingers crossed.
Today- cloudy but still warm, no rain forecast,we will see!
-
The storm in yesterday's forecast for today, has been delayed ::) It is not now due until tomorrow :nowink:
This afternoon we may have some light rain...
Actually, the sky does look stormy right now, it is 18C &very humid - so it's a case of wait and see :D
-
It has been raining in deluges here all morning. A bit windy NNE. about 20c. Not warm enough for me !
-
Hot with some breeze again. The forecaster rain has been put back yet again to this coming Tuesday. >:(
-
Heavy showers on and off all day with lighter showers in between. Overcast and dark, haven't turned the lights off all day.
-
And we're now in the middle of a very loud and flashy thunderstorm! It's also chucking it down and the road outside is a river, I know I live in a village called Lake which I think is going to be appropriate soon. :D
-
Heavy showers on and off all day with lighter showers in between. Overcast and dark, haven't turned the lights off all day......
And we're now in the middle of a very loud and flashy thunderstorm!
Same, despite them saying the storms would be tomorrow.....
-
None of the forecast rain this weekend, but at least it's cooled down from last week. Looks like a hot one tomorrow and hopefully rain on Tuesday.
-
Been lovely today - sunny from start to finish with a breeze keeping things bearable. Reminded us of the Canaries with the trade winds blowing.
-
A very poor day. Dull and very wet in the afternoon, with a very loud thunderstorm and torrential rain which sounded like it passed directly overhead.
-
A very poor day. Dull and very wet in the afternoon, with a very loud thunderstorm and torrential rain which sounded like it passed directly overhead.
We could do with a good downpour here!
-
Mid to low 20's today far more comfortable, with high fluffy cloud. I might even stretch it and say it's a nice day. :nowink:
-
Just hitting the late 20's now.
-
It is an ok day, the sky is light white, but the sun is shining. 21c with blustery SW winds.
-
Lovely day, sunny and warm but in the last half hour it's gone dark and the wind has got up. I've just said I'll go to bed now so in half an hour it will all kick off as we have been warned of another storm.
-
It went really humid and hot later in the day which made for a horrible sticky evening. Our rain has been delayed again and we're back to grey, cloudy and warm. :(
-
Grey, cooler at around 20ºC with a little breeze. Possibly a little rain late afternoon and the thunder apocalypse is delayed until tomorrow morning.
-
Well, the storm MetO said would be delayed 'til today has disappeared from the forecast, probably because it did arrive yesterday afternoon, despite them saying it wouldn't
Anyhow, today is a very humid 16C and wet underfoot, with heavy grey sky. There's more rain forecast for this afternoon........where has the sun gone?
-
17c pouring with rain, and hairdressers for the first time in 18 months ::) breeze from SSW.
-
I was right, several rumbles last night and a lovely lightning display over Sandown Bay. Heavy rain overnight with showers today. The stream at Mortonbrook has overflowed so everybody has been diverted through Yaverland which made an interesting journey home.
-
We had a good downpour at lunchtime, then 4 pm another with rumbles of thunder & then drizzle at 7pm, still damp now but warm, although considerably cooler than the last few days
-
A few showers, but nothing substantial.
-
A few showers, but nothing substantial.
Ditto :(
We need a good downpour!
-
A cool start, around 15ºC. Very cloudy and it feels like the oft promised downpour is coming later. We had a few drops in the night, judging by the very wet cat that appeared :)
-
Some rain overnight - enough to make the pavement wet but that's about it. Cooler but no fresher this morning. It's grey with low cloud again.
-
The promised thunder apocalypse has been delayed due to leaves on the line and is now due at 2pm
-
We have had a decent amount of rain so far today.
It was showers earlier although they were pretty heavy when they came. There have been longer spells of rain pretty much since about 11.00am. The sky has lightened a bit now, but there are rain clouds with only little bits of blue in between.
-

Same here, but it is now very windy as well, gusting at 35mph
-
Same here very windy, everything is getting blown about :(
-
Just enough rain to annoy in the end - no big storms or downpours. :(
-
Finally got some decent rain today and a few grumbles of thunder.
-
A few good sharp showers yesterday along with an thunderstorm which was more mouth than trousers but it has freshened things up today and there's a stiff breeze keeping things moving, much nicer.
-
Much cooler at 16ºC with a breeze under cloudy grey sky. Not much rain over the last days, but enough to hold things.
-
It looks and feels like March/April, fast scudding clouds through blue sky, wind gusting 25mph, 17C but feels colder in the wind.
-
Just seen the warning on the TV for the storm 'Egert' that is due to hit the south tonight and tomorrow, Worst hit is the southwest but it's all along the south coast and Kent. Apparently high winds and rain are due. Looks nice outside at the moment but we are going to check the garden after dinner to 'batten down the hatches'.
-
It's cool at 15C, wet and windy - we've just had one of the squally showers that are in the forecast - there go all the rose petals again *sigh*
-
About the same here - 15ºC, strong breeze, grey with intermittent showers. AKA the traditional British summer :)
-
We too have British Summer weather. :nowink: It rained all night (heavily at times) and it's still raining off and on now. It's grey, much cooler and with a breeze that requires a coat.
-
Same as Lardy!
-
The odd spot of rain but nothing to write home about, yet! Very windy though, nearly got knocked over in the wind tunnel that is Sandown High Street.
-
Yep, much like the rest of you, grey, stiff breeze that was a bit cool & plenty of showers that started in the night
-
Rain over night, grey cool and low cloud at the moment. Soup rather than salad weather ::)
-

Ditto
I'll do a bit of stuff in the greenhouse and polytunnel but outdoor jobs can wait for tomorrow when the weather is supposed to be better.
-
Cloudy and cold. :(
-
Grey, warmish, humid. With the clouds rolling in, it looks as if more rain is on the way.....
-
Not to bad today i've been in the garden all day, no rain here but still blowy :)
-
Mild and bright most of the day but it's just started tipping it down.
-
Grey, warmish, humid. With the clouds rolling in, it looks as if more rain is on the way.....
There was, a lot of it - just had an hour on the plot, before the spitting started. Made a dash for home and just managed to get through the door before the deluge started :)
-
Well it cheered up here this afternoon - not super sunny but warm enough to enjoy a cuppa on the patio before returning to the
salt mines polytunnel :D
Tomorrow promises to be reasonable but we'll see.
-
It's cloudy again, 16C with no sunny breaks in the forecast, either *sigh*
-
A week ago I was complaining about my house temp, which hadn't dropped much below 28C for days on end.
Today it's 12.8C outside, damp and drizzly - found my hand wandering towards the C/H thermostat and only just resisted the temptation. :(
-
Overcast with the odd blue patch but a nice warmth here.
-
Just had an almighty crash of thunder, which shook the house  Now got torrential rain with hail mixed in. The path has quickly flooded and the cat ran in like a drowned rat
-
Still no rain but very over cast today :)
-
Much nicer today. High wispy cloud, bit of blue sky, 16c and a slight breeze. Pottering weather.
-
About the same here - fair but not exactly the August we hope for yet. Soil's very dry now so I think the sprinkler is going on.
-
Just getting a bit lighter now, no, I have just looked the other way, its not ! Just 17c, some heavy showers, and SSe wind then S, then SSW, Perhaps it will blow in some warmer weather. ???
-
Same as yesterday morning, hopefully it will stay like this as yesterday it clouded over and turned grey at lunchtime.
-
It's mostly grey and only 16C, but at least that horrible cold wind has gone...
-
Nice start to the day here - sunny and warm but not scorchio. Lots to do outside :)
-
Sunny day here as well :)
-
Pleasantly warm and sunny day. Sadly wasted on me as I was stuck indoors stripping wallpaper.
-
17c max today, and the wind is starting to blow a little bit. Washing has been hanging on the line doing nothing, but no signs of sun or blue sky
-
Another sunny day :)
-
Another cracking day right up until 6pm when the sky suddenly went dark. A couple of spits of rain but that was about it.
-
Dramatic clouds scudding across the sky but only a few drops of the much needed rain have arrived so far. Reasonably warm though. Heavier rain is promised for later.
-
Nice warm day yesterday with the promise of heavy showers in the afternoon.
In the event, my garden stayed bone dry, whereas a friend walking in a park about 4 miles away got drenched!
Today, pleasantly warm start although the wind is starting to pick up as the weather front approaches (allegedly! ;))
-
It's 16C, sunny, but with cloudy intervals, shame about the breeze :D
I'm just grateful for some sunshine 8)
Rain forecast by teatime though..
-
Grey today, calm and on the cooler side at 17c.
-
It's piddling with rain and turned chilly :)
-
Rain started about midday and has alternated between drizzle and heavy. It's a bit breezy but nothing like they said. Call this a storm, I call it a normal autumnal day! I might have to eat those words later though. :D
-

I just got the washing in off the line, in time :nowink:
-
It finally arrived in force and we've had an inch of rain so far today :D
-
Tipping it down!
-
Torrential downpours here today too - current total 1.0mm! ::)
It is still raining though...
-
Looks like the thunder storm warnings have gone and the rain is hardly heavy here. We've had 27mm over the last 24 hours - swear you can see the grass greening and growing!
-
Sings: It's raining it's pouring, the old man is snoring...
It's 16C and our thunderstorm today, is forecast for lunchtime..
-
Pretty windy out there today which is keeping the clouds moving and taking the edge off the temperature.
-
Too blowy here again, gusting at 39, but its doing it all the time at present. Some sun, but too blowy to count against 19c
-
Very windy and it kept going dark then lightened up again. None of the wet stuff though, although the forecast for tomorrow isn't very promising. I can stay indoors, fortunately, as it's my day off.
-
Torrential downpours here today too - current total 1.0mm! ::)
It is still raining though...
As forecast, more downpours here today (2.6mm total!)
Not planning on building an ark just yet! ???
-
Bright start to the day but on the chilly side and not as windy as yesterday, forecast was for rain all day.
-
16C here, and very grey, not surprising as rain was forecast for most of the day and stormy between 11 and 3, lovely summer weather.... ::)
-
It's an early winter's day out there. 14ºC, misty, grey raining.
A friend of mine who passed away August 7 years ago summed up winter here in a haiku
I’m looking through raindrops
The wind attempts to steal the slates off the roof.
Beyond the gate formless mist

-
Yesterday's storms didn't materialise, although it wasn't a nice day either with heavy showers making it impossible to actually do anything. This morning it's back to grey, blustery drizzle.
-
After rain this morning it has turned into a very nice afternoon. Pity we couldn't do anything outside but everything is so wet. Still very windy which might help to dry it out.
-
At least it's stopped raining now! Reasonable but not exactly brilliant today. About 18ºC, bits of sunshine peeping through the grey sky and vanishing again.
-
It's grey, 15C and pouring hard, heavy storms forecast for this afternoon - guess that's another day to stay indoors then :(
-
Nasty morning but better this afternoon still very blowey :)
-
very blowy with strong gusts, a little bit of sun but temp only 16c.
-
We're the same as the rest of you on the south coast, blowy, wet and overcast. Day off tomorrow, I think I'll pack away my summer wardrobe.
-

I was seriously considering the c/heating this morning, but opted for a thicker winter cardigan instead
-
We've now discovered last nights wind blew out our pilot light so we have no hot water and couldn't put on the CH if we wanted to. The code coming up as an 'alarm' isn't registered in the hand book. We have called in a plumber friend who will be coming tomorrow. I don't like washing in cold water!
-
Very gloomy. >:(
-
Fingers crosses for you Wighty!!
Here it's a bit brighter and milder this morning and there's no rain in the forecast ::) so fingers crossed :D
-
Washing on the line, 20c SW winds and no rain forecast all the rest of the week.
-
Washing on the line, 20c SW winds and no rain forecast all the rest of the week.
I hope the forecast is right (for a change ::)) I've got lots of berries just beginning to ripen on the allotment. Much more rain and they'll all just go mouldy :(
-
Bright and sunny this morning for a change - wonder how long that will last ::) . It does have an autumnal twang to it though.
<edit> Well that didn't last long - now grey, dull and overcast. :(
-
Cool at 15ºC, breezy and light rain. This is not the August weather we were looking for!
-
Overcast and showers forecast for later on. I believe our August heatwave here will last a full three days - wow!
-
Although it's bright, it's still not that warm. Back lawn cut though which makes the outlook from the dining room look better.
-
Bit of rain late last night but bright and breezy so far today, feels cooler but that may just be the wind - off to to put a washing load on.
-
Cloudy and then bright patches, not as warm as yesterday - so cardigan on...
Forecast is for more sun/heat later, so fingers crossed that the cardigan can come off
-
Overcast with some misty blue patches and the chance of light showers. Hope they are light, not like last night when the sky went a funny yellow colour then it absolutely hozed it down big time!
-
20c with sw winds. Sun supposed to be out at 1pm onward, but so far it is still light grey with darker grey clouds ::)
-
It's not raining but it's very grey and breezy. Oh well, could be worse!
-
Turned out to be ok today after first thing drizzle sunshine :D more tomorrow :)
-
Rain first thing and then it became quite bright. Still not very warm though.
-
Another warm 'un today. It's been dry for a few days so tomorrow will be a watering day.
-
Breezy but sunny and reasonably warm here today :) Looks like a wet weekend on the way though :(
-
It's 17C, mostly cloudy and the breeze is just beginning to pick up a bit - a cardigan on day, so far ;)
-
Grey skies, light breeze, light rain forecast. 15ºC
Great weather for November!
-
We have18C with light cloud and a fair breeze.... hopefully get the garden 'lawn' cut, as atm it looks more like a meadow, again ::)
-
Despite good forecasts showing for today, it is rubbish. Grey, blowy and the sea mist keeps rolling in down the valley. Glad I cut my grass yesterday and did loads of gardening.
-
Intermittent sun but not what I would call a heatwave. :nowink:
-
Shall we pick today's weather colour - Today it's ....... GREY. muggy with it again too.
-
Grey, cool at 14ºC and breezy. Doubt we will not get at least one shower today.
-
It is bright and sunny right now (not forecast to last though) but the strong breeze from the NW was a shock to the system when I opened the door for the cat!!!
It's 15C - feels like 13C according to MetO and I agree, a cardigan on day, it is then ::)
-
Overcast, a few spots of rain and jolly cold.
-
light grey, very patchy bits of sun, max 19, I don't believe it ! Winds NW
-
Grey.
-
Cloudy grey, 13C breeze from the NW not bad for early winter....
-
Cold, grey, raining, windy. Typical November!
-
19C but windy - some showers about but only one has made it across the Pennines so far (0.6mm - first rain for over a week! :nowink:)
-
19C but windy - some showers about but only one has made it across the Pennines so far (0.6mm - first rain for over a week! :nowink:)
Sheffield was not quite as I imagined it!
-
Not a nice day here low cloud and cold all day :)
-
Overcast and quite cool.
-
Tropical storm Fred rolled through and dropped 3.28 inches of rain today. Cool though, just 26 degrees C.
-

26c Cool ? that's when we start complaining about the heat over here  Perhaps you could suggest Fred makes he was over to see JayG.
It's grey outside again, cool at 16c with a cold chill to in the wind. I've put the washing out so I'm expecting showers shortly too ::)
-
Grey cloudy sky, bit of a breeze, cold at 13ºC at the moment and just enough rain to make it miserable.
-

SNAP!
-
A much better day 20 degs
-
Started grey and miserable with misty fine rain. Cheered up by lunchtime and been quite a pleasant afternoon. Still not very warm though.
-
26c Cool ? that's when we start complaining about the heat over here  Perhaps you could suggest Fred makes he was over to see JayG.
Next week it's back up to a balmy 34 C (so "cool" is relative; 26 C in August is considered VERY comfortable).
It's not too unusual for a tropical storm (or what's left of it) to work it's way north to the Atlantic coast again. Especially storms that re-emerge at the New York coast, or further north, could cross the Atlantic! On occasion, sometimes our rain storm later becomes your rain storm!
-

26c Cool ? that's when we start complaining about the heat over here  Perhaps you could suggest Fred makes he was over to see JayG.
JayG would happily welcome the remains of storm Fred as long as he didn't outstay his welcome (and was rapidly replaced by Anticyclone Annie.)
-
Grey cloudy sky, bit of a breeze, cold at 13ºC at the moment and just enough rain to make it miserable.
Repeat .. this is not good. It's very humid as well which is causing problems in the greenhouse and polytunnel. Very much blight weather.
-
It started nice here today, bit of blue sky, some sun, although a bit on the cool side at 14c but that's what jumpers are for . It's clouded over again and gone grey - I've had to put the house lights on but I'm still sitting in gloom :(
-
Slightly warmer than yesterday but still overcast with occasional drizzle. :(
-
Overcast and muggy.
-
Bit of blue sky on & off, awoke to sunshine but that soon went, few very light showers, but quite humid
-
Pretty muggy this morning, although it looks like sun is trying, definitely blight weather.
-
Another grey, damp day but a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday. Sunshine promised next week.
-
Started out overcast then the sun came out and it was quite hot. Now it's more of a misty afternoon with the threat of some rain.
-
Grey and muggy first thing again, at it's just started to rain. I think I'll find something to do inside today :nowink:
-
The rain it raineth every day,
How I wish it would go away.
Grey, damp, cold but things are set to improve apparently :D
-
17c, feels like 15c Wind SW, grey and unpleasant. Will the global warming miss us altogether ?
-
First decent bit of rain in a while, the garden will be happy!
-
Still grey but calm and dry. Supposed to brighten later this morning, which will be nice.
-
Early on it was overcast with occasional mizzle then the sun came out and it got hot. Now it's clouding over and rain is forecast later this afternoon.
-
Apart from during Friday night we haven't had any of the predicted rain this weekend. Still not very warm though although the wind has died down. Feel very sorry for those people in New York, mind you we often get the same or a reduced version a couple of weeks later.
-
A really sunny and warm day, nice to see after all the grey days we've had of late.
-
Looks set for a nice day - sunny, light cloud, warm enough around 20ºC I might even make some inroads on the jobs to do list! :D
-
Blue sky, some white clouds, slight breeze and rather hot. :)
-
Started out cool & overcast this morning, but by lunchtime the sun was out again and it soon warmed up.
-
Cool first thing, mild , bright and sunny now :D Hope it stays that way I'm a little tired of grey.
-
Almost perfect! Sunny and warm but not too hot. About time too!
-
Sunny and warm but not too hot.
We started out that way-out it has gone a bit grey now ::)
-
A mix of sunshine and cloud, warm when the suns out.
-
Sunny and hot here.
-
Sunny and warm but not too hot.
We started out that way-out it has gone a bit grey now ::)
I spoke too soon. The grey burned off and we have had a lovely sunny afternoon :D
-
Looks like another nice day in the offing here. We often seem to have a decent end to August and September in Wales. Loads to do, so it's a good job too. :)
-
... and back to Grey again. Distinctly autumnal feel this morning.
-
Overcast and a little on the cool side. Not complaining, I'm bricklaying this afternoon and I'd rather not be doing that in blazing sunshine.
-
Hot but with a nice breeze.
-
Forecast say sunny - Window says grey. ::) Hopefully things will improve as the day goes on.
-
Grey sky but warm enough - sunny later. Not bad as I can get in the polytunnel before the sun heats it up.
-
Just like yesterday. Hot with a little breeze.
-
It's quite bright outside but still not very warm. Bit of a breeze as well.
-
Another lovely warm day, though the temperature is plummeting tonight.
-
Solid sunshine, light breezes and not too hot around 20ºC - what's to moan about? I know! I'll need to water soon. :)
-
Here it's 17C, grey (with the odd fleeting glimpse of blue) and still with that strong Northeast breeze.. there's certainly a nip in it atm.
Hope it's going to warm up, lots to do...
-
Bright and fresh feeling out.
-
Sunny and quite hot but not overcomingly so.
-
Chilly, breezy and dull.
-
Started off quite sunny but it's now clouded over.
-
We have sunny spells, but we still have that nagging N.Easterly so it doesn't feel as warm as it looks..
Lovely in the greenhouse though :D
-
I was about to say the same as Mum. Lovely in the g/house. Was a bit of sun earlier, but gone now. Just 20 max. with NNE cold wind.
-
Looks like we're really getting the best here in the west. Sunny, calm and warm :) Well nigh perfick!
-
Mainly overcast with an occasional sneaky cool breeze.
-
John, you've got our weather again, please can we have it back ::)
Here, it's grey, drizzly, 16C (and that's the high, according to the forecast) plus there's a cold breeze from the NNE :(
In other words it's not very nice at all....
-
The high here is alledgedly 18, I don't believe it. NNE winds and it is no warmer in the g/house than out. I am already wearing 3 tops, I am dreading winter !
-
Dull and breezy here, not warm at all. Apparently the south has suffered all summer compared to the north.
-
Overcast and pretty cool out.
-
Overcast, grey and every time I've thought about going out of the door it rained a nasty long passing shower. Save the bank holiday spending money which is still in the purse.
-
Grey and horriable not nice >:(
-
Cool at 17ºC with a flat grey sky but it's not raining or windy, so not bad. Perfect for heavier work if you can find someone to do it!
-
Here it's 17C, grey (with the odd fleeting glimpse of blue) and still with that strong Northeast breeze.. there's certainly a nip in it atm.
Same again - with a "feels like 15" according to MetO, I'm getting fed up with it now ::)
-
Grey - bit of drizzle first thing too.
-
Bit of nuisance drizzle here (nothing useful.)
14.3C with a 'feels like' of 11.2 in the NE breeze now - what's not to like on the last day of August? :(
-
A lot warmer and brighter today. Mowed front and back lawns but have now to 'retire' indoors as hayfever has 'overcome' me.
-
Grim, overcast and on the cool side.
-
Grey again, feels a little chilly, might have to give the central heating a test :nowink: .
-
Here it's 17C, grey (with the odd fleeting glimpse of blue) and still with that strong Northeast breeze.. there's certainly a nip in it atm.
Same again - with a "feels like 15" according to MetO, I'm getting fed up with it now ::)
Same :(
-
Overcast again and actually feels cold out now. The heating is NOT going on yet, I don't care how much the wife & sprog moan.
-
warmer today been for 2 lovely walks :)
-
Dull, dull, dull. The breeze has returned but the rain we were threatened with has so far not appeared.
-
Grey ... Cool .... Windy... This perpetual gloom is becoming very tiresome.
You might want to give the heating a quick test P1P - just to make sure everything still works, plumbers are expensive in the winter ;)
-
Here it's 17C, grey (with the odd fleeting glimpse of blue) and still with that strong Northeast breeze.. there's certainly a nip in it atm.
Same again - with a "feels like 15" according to MetO, I'm getting fed up with it now ::)
Same :(
Same - and yes it really is getting me down now :(
-
Same here. Far too blowy today from the NE, cold. Fed-up. Mrs B
-
Sun finally managed to break through the grey clouds this afternoon, and sent the temperature up to 20C - very pleasant change. :)
-
Could I have a button on my computer that is 'repeat yesterday's post'. :D
-
Cold and grey again this morning but the sun did break through late afternoon and it warmed up nicely.
-
Here it's 17C, grey (with the odd fleeting glimpse of blue) and still with that strong Northeast breeze.. there's certainly a nip in it atm.

Same :(
Same - and yes it really is getting me down now :(
I could just type 'same' but (I hope I'm not just imagining it) it seems to be a brighter/warmer this morning, although we still do have the NE breeze...
-
Let me do it for you MoS.
Same. Grey, cool, windy and a drizzle without the decency to become rain.
-
It's heavy cloud today but due to brighten later. Only drawback at the moment is having to water - this is not the Welsh summer we're used to! :)
-
Grey and very still, and have also been watering as rain is very scarce at the moment.
-
The weather has really picked up as the day has gone on, it's bright and much warmer than of late. I see the forecast is saying it's going to be pretty hot by Sunday!
-
Quite chilly first thing but warmed up, a lot brighter as well. I'm not unpacking my summer clothes though. ::)
-
This morning Ctrl +A Ctrl + V & Ctrl + C. :( Improved a but yesterday afternoon in patches but I noticed it was dark by 8pm.
-
Here it's 17C, grey (with the odd fleeting glimpse of blue) and still with that strong Northeast breeze.. there's certainly a nip in it atm.

Same again, but the breeze has eased off - hopefully the start of the change to sunnier/warmer weather that's forecast.....
-
Another bright and warm start to the day with a lovely gentle breeze.
-
Disappointing so far today. 21, LOL, ENE winds, grey sky. I could really use some rain !
-
I don't want to jinx it but .... it's sunny outside  Calm, sunny and pleasantly warm at 16c.
-
I don't want to jinx it but .... it's sunny outside  Calm, sunny and pleasantly warm ....
Snap and it is 17C here now. Is today a 8) day?
-
Same here. Rather pleasant sitting outside between jobs.
-
Warmer but very hazy. No breeze at all.
-
Nice day yesterday until around 5pm when it clouded over and went rather muggy. It's a bit like that this morning, warm, still and cloudy.
-
The wind is now from the SSE, so it's 19C and sunny - at last 8)
-
On the weatherometer that ranges from Apocalyptically Awful to Absolutely Awful we're stuck in Nondescript.
Warm enough at 20ºC and dry (although we had a spot of light rain around 7:30am) with grey skies. Possibly brightening up later. The Indian Summer forecast has been downgraded to One Nice Day which is scheduled for tomorrow.
-
We had a local Speedwatch session up by our Cottage Hospital earlier today, just for one hour! One of the girls had a straw hat, the other girl didn't and neither did I, and it was scorching!
Red-Faced Growsters at your service...
-
Definitely on the hot side today, hotter forecast tomorrow.
-
Once the sea mist had burned off it got quite warm, I wouldn't call it hot as such.
-
Summer is late and on a Tuesday this year :)
Lovely and sunny - pretty hot to come!
-
Yep - Bit of mist first thing this morning but that burn off very quickly. Sunny and clear, no breeze and getting warm. :) Several loads of "big washing" ready to make use of that clean, fresh aired feel rather than the machine.
-
It's a lovely sunny morning 8) and 20C already :)
-
Hot, so I did like Lardman and put yesterday's washing back on the line to finish drying then did another load which should be dry later on. Not a lot of breeze to cool things down so I've come inside for a break.
-
24c here now. Washing has just gone on the line, and there is a nice breeze.
-
Early sea mist sun burnt off and we were left with a lovely sunny day. The breeze is now picking up though which they forecast for the south coast.
-
Scorchio! 29ºC down at the beach, just 27ºC up here :)
-
Too blinkin' hot >:(
-
Looks set for another hot one, if not as hot as yesterday. They reckon around 25ºC this afternoon.
-
Too blinkin' hot >:(
It was rather, and a very warm night.
Morning mist burnt off quickly again and it looks set for another 30c day. The thunderstorms forecast to break it have now turned into just showers, which is a bit of a shame too.
-
Another lovely, warm, sunny morning 19C 8)
Forecast is for showers this evening and overnight, possibly thundery tomorrow. If so - it was a very short but very much appreciated Indian Summer :D :D
-
Hot with very little breeze but keeps clouding over.
-
3rd consecutive day of hot sunshine, with a nice breeze today.
-
In West Wight where the shop is we had a few spits and spots, here in East Wight we've just had our first rumble of thunder and some more spits and spots. As we travelled from west to east this afternoon we noticed the sky getting lighter and lighter but now it's very grey and dull. Please get it over and done with before bedtime. :D
-
Another stinky hot day. At least tomorrow looks more bearable.
-
I can see lightening and hear thunder as a storm is approaching from the SW. It's still very hot and humid, so hopefully the storm will clear the air, for a decent night's sleep ::)
-
We just had a quite dramatic thunderstorm - power went out for 10 seconds and lots of flickers. Thankfully we have UPS on the computers. :)
-
Got up to rain this morning to wash the heat away and water the plants. Hmm, trip out planned today as well.
-
Drizzle overnight and very muggy this morning - hopefully a sensible amount of rain today.
-
the storm was dramatic, but didn't last very long and we only got a light sprinkling of rain - not nearly enough, and there isn't any in the forecast :(
It's 18C, cloudy and humid this morning..
-
Starting to rain, seconds after I finished cutting the grass. As always in insipid North Wiltshire, I don't suppose it will supply all we need. >:(
Cheers, Tony.
-
The storm was dramatic and provided a useful amount of rain. It was still quite humid overnight. Sun trying to burn through the cloud and still a bit sticky.
-
It was raining when I left work last night at around 9.30ish and had rained quite a lot judging by all the puddles. I am a bit insulated from it all in the shop, so had not noticed
The soil was still damp in the garden this morning and it is drizzling on and off today. Welcome relief for plot and garden plants I think :)
-
No rain at all here so far in September - last rain of any significance was 22nd August, and that was only 5mm. :nowink:
Looking at the rain radar, we'll be lucky if we get even a light shower today, which is currently bright, warm and a muggy 22C.
-
We have rain! We got a few unforecast showers last night and now we're getting another good soaking. No sign of the forecast thunderstorms though.
-
Overcast and a bit humid and now we've getting a few welcome showers.
-
Yesterday evening we only had two distant rumbles of thunder and a short shower. Today started out foggy but has cleared away to leave a dull sort of day which so far hasn't produced any rain.
-
Just as I thought, the weatherpersons predict thunder, lightning, frogs and fishes. We got about ten minutes of iffy rain and no dramatics. As I said, it is North Wiltshire.
Cheers, Tony.
-
A reasonable amount of rain late evening and over night. It's grey and very muggy this morning.
-
Grey, warm, and very humid this morning, I wonder if the washing will dry?
The answer is, no it won't, because now, it's raining ::)
-
Drizzle first thing then about 11 am it turned into a nice day. Light breeze and some warm sunshine.
-
Muggy morning, rain this afternoon.
-
I wasn't sure where to put this, but it is weather, and may be of interest.
Hurricane Larry is forecast to bring feet of snow and possibly hurricane-force wind to the east coast of Greenland:
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/09/10/weather/hurricane-larry-forecast-weekend-snow-greenland/index.html (https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/09/10/weather/hurricane-larry-forecast-weekend-snow-greenland/index.html)
If I were in the UK, I'd be monitoring where that storm is headed next. Most likely impact would be more wind, rain, and surf along the coast, though not at hurricane intensity.
-
Grey and a little muggy.
-
Grey and a little muggy.
Same here, this morning, but the sun has come out to ply now :)
-
Bright and sunny, tolerably warm after the mid week heat.
-
Overcast and a bit humid but could brighten up later.
-
A non day. Breezy, kept going dark as if we were going to get a shower but nothing happened. The weather we were forecast, as in showers, hasn't happened.
-
If I were in the UK, I'd be monitoring where that storm is headed next. Most likely impact would be more wind, rain, and surf along the coast, though not at hurricane intensity.
Most often our weather in the west of the UK comes in from the Atlantic. I can usually get a good feel for what's due by looking at current weather in Dublin - roughly 130Km away across the the sea.
Currently it looks to be a pleasant, dry day ahead :)
Around 20ºC, no wind and light cloud in a blue sky - intermittent sunshine.
-
Overnight welcome rain, but stopped now. Just grey and damp. 18c but not a leaf is moving !
-
Overnight welcome rain, but stopped now. Just grey and damp. 18c but not a leaf is moving !
Same here Mrs B
-
Overnight welcome rain, but stopped now. Just grey and damp. 18c but not a leaf is moving !
Same here Mrs B
And up here. It noticed a distinct chill in the air last night too.
-
Cloudy with rain this morning, then sunshine and blue skies at noon, but now it's clouding over.
-
The apocalyptic rainfall forecast for today, complete with a yellow Met Office warning, headed north east and not for the first time largely passed us by here (total 2.0mm! :nowink:)
-
Rain on and off today, like others have said though, starting feel a bit of a chill at night.
-
I've been East Wight today and it rained until midday, Paul's been West Wight and apart from being a bit cloudy there was no rain. This afternoon was quite bright.
-
Lovely day here - that cold blue sky, sunny and about 20ºC
-
First thing this morning it was grey, damp and cool - the sun has just broken through 8) So fingers crossed the washing will dry, and I'll be able to cut the lawn :D
-
I can't believe this is Cumbria. Desperately dry. Lawns are brown, leeks are looking weak and I'll water tonight, Runner and French beans are over after a prolific (watering-assisted) crop. I've lived in Cumbria for 50 years and never known such a dry spring, summer and early autumn
-
First thing this morning it was grey, damp and cool - the sun has just broken through 8) So fingers crossed the washing will dry, and I'll be able to cut the lawn :D
I managed to get the washing in before a short sharp shower, didn't get the 'lawn' cut boo hoo!
-
Bright sunshine for most of the day, but a slight breeze with a bit of a nip to it.
-
Chilly start to the day then it turned out nice, gone really chilly now but then I really feel the cold.
-
Cloudy with some sunshine and not too cool.
-
Beautiful day sunshine all the way :)
-
Very grey, breezy and cool around 15ºC. Spitting rather than raining but not weather to trust. Oh well, it was nice yesterday :)
-
Wet start to the day but it's getting a bit better now - maybe some sunshine this afternoon! About 15ºC with a bit of breeze.
More leaves on the grass - but the sycamore is still green :)
-
Overcast, muggy and that horrible damp in the air.
-
It was warm and quite bright and sunny this morning, but then it started to get cloudier until it just dropped a few spits of rain, but it leaving me with the impression that it's getting dark already
-
Exactly the same here Mum!
-
Biting wind this morning, on the chilly side walking the dog. Sunny and clear with high wispy cloud now making it nice in the sun.
-
Blue sky with white clouds and some warm sunshine.
-
It's been fairly warm, but only 1 glimpse of the sun, so far, and that didn't last more then a few minutes either ::)
-
A few patches of blue sky, so okish. 20c, but the north winds are very chilly. When I walked earlier, it was pleasant in the sheltered spots.
-
Bright, sunny and warm out again today.
-
Quite sunny but occasional clouding over.
-
Better than expected today, cloudy but some sunny spells and warm. Dark already, the nights are really drawing in now.
-
After quite a cool, misty night ( down to 8C in the greenhouse) It has now turned into a bright, sunny day. There's a cool breeze taking the edge off the sun's heat, though...
-
Started wet and cloudy despite the Met Office insisting it was sunny! Brightening up now - which is nice.
-
Overcast this morning but now it's bright and sunny.
-
Overcast this morning but now it's bright and sunny.
Exactly the opposite here - Bright and sunny this morning (although very chilly to start) grey and overcast now and the wind is picking up too.
-
Chilly start, but it's been bright and warm for most of the day.
-
Same here PP we went for a lovely walk along Bognor Sea front early not many people about :)
-
Puddles, cool 15ºC, some breeze. I'd have liked a bit more summer given the choice.
-
Bright and sunny 17C now, but the breeze is chilly, despite being from the West, forecast is for cloud this afternoon.
-
A bit grey here and the breeze has a definite chill to it. Feels autumnal.
-
Not yet sunrise here (before 6:00 AM) , it is 12°C with clear skies. This follows a cold front that came through yesterday, first day of autumn.
-
Our weather cheered up and we have had a lovely sunny and warm afternoon after all :D
-
Grey - but surprisingly warm after the chilly start.
-
Yes, a chilly, breezy start but the sun soon warmed things up, so I could take off the fleece on the allotments 8)
-
Another beautiful day lots of sunshine and blue sky :D
-
Cold start but baking hot out now, probably going to have to water the garden again tonight...
-
Cold start but baking hot out now, probably going to have to water the garden again tonight...
The hose is topping up the greenhouse drip tank, right now.... I'll move on to the garden and pots once that's full ::)
-
Same as yesterday - grey and surprisingly warm. Headache weather :(
-
It was bound to happen ::) - I water the garden, so it rained overnight
It's still very grey and damp, now, but mild.
-
Overcast and muggy.
-
Not as good as yesterday but still warm quick shower this morning nothing much, now sunshine this afternoon. :)
-
Grey and damp rather than raining - surprisingly warm around 20ºC
-
grey and damp early, not sure if there was rain or not. 20 mins of fine rain about mid-day. Since then lovely sunshine. Gardening still in shorts and tshirt.
-
To quote Craig Revel Horward ' dull, dull, dull'.
-
We had a glorious day yesterday, but today was very grey.
It was one of those afternoons where it seemed be going dark from about lunchtime ::)
-
Soggy start to the morning but it's brightening up now still pleasantly warm too.
-
Light cloud on the forecast - light rain in reality here. Bit breezy too. Temp around 15ºC. Bit depressing.
-
Drizzly earlier but now just grey and misty, but warm 17C and calm.
Trouble is - it feels like the calm before the storm ::)
-
Grey, muggy and very humid. No breeze at all. Feels as if we should have a storm.
All in all not very pleasant.
-
Sunny, slight breeze and 19C. Due to change tonight, thank the Lord as the garden is dry as a bone
-
We've got a storm warning for the Island for gales and heavy rain tonight, we'll see, although the 'darker' clouds do seem to be gathering. It's been dull again today but not too chilly.
-
Alternating between heavy rain and bright sunshine, I've already got soaked twice today - I've decided to stay inside for the rest of it.
-
Hooray, heavy rain and plenty of it! Could do without the gusty wind though!
-
At last we got a share of the rain this morning - about half an inch, at one time falling at the rate of 97mm per hour (but only for a few minutes!)
Bright and breezy now (first time for a long time that wind and solar power is producing more than 50% of the UK's electricity. :))
-
Bright and breezy now (first time for a long time that wind and solar power is producing more than 50% of the UK's electricity. :))
And , we do really need it right now!!!!
-
Chucked it down first thing, a few heavy showers since. Still warm out, though that looks to change tomorrow.
-
We had a lot of rain last night and this morning (40mm) but the afternoon was quite pleasantly sunny :) Cooler now though. Autumn is tightening its grip.
-
Loads of rain in the night but have woken to a beautiful morning, sun breaking through. Washing on the line.
-
Grey and misty, 12C with quite a gusty breeze, deffinitely a cardigan on day, thunderstorms forecast for later. Autumn has arrived!
Looking at the forecast for the rest of the week, it's time to harvest all the squash and pumpkins ;)
-
Soggy overnight and much colder this morning. The forecast torrential rain hasn't shown up yet though and there's even a bit of sunshine about
-
Well this is odd - a lot better than forecast! Bit of rain overnight / early morning but now it's not raining, patches of blue and calm. About 12ºC which isn't too bad either.
-
Soggy overnight and very cold early this morning. Bright blue sky, gentle breeze and sunshine at the moment but only 9c and you can feel it in the shade.
-
Same here, Lardman, just a degree warmer than you first thing. Still not feeling warm even in the sun - it's that gusty NW wind that's spoiling things, here :(
-
Sunny with the odd sprinkle of rain but it's not warm here. :(
-
Late last night there was a big thunderstorm out at sea - great lightshow!
Wet start to the day here but cheered up now - gentle breeze and cool at about 13ºC
-
just 15 today, but lots of sunshine. Lots of condensation on all my windows this morning. I have not resorted to putting the C/H on yet. Worked in garden all day until just now very blustery and NW winds but still just managed in a short sleeve Tshirt, put beginning to feel cold now. Last evening about 9pm, it absolutely poured down and the wind was howling, ok 30 mins later.
-
just 15 today f/Like 12. The wind is SW gusting at 42 mph. Cold Brrrrr.
-
just 15 today f/Like 12. The wind is SW gusting at 42 mph. Cold Brrrrr.
Same here, and It got down to 4C in the greenhouse last night! Brrr.
Which explains why I woke up in the small hours and got the warmer duvet out ::)
-
14 degrees plus drizzle horrid.
-
Cold, wet and miserable.
-
Cold, wet and miserable.
You missed one - It's Grey, cold, wet and miserable.
-
Cold, wet and miserable.
You missed one - It's Grey, cold, wet and miserable.
Today we've crossed the cold of the list, as it feels much warmer (heating off again ;))
but the rest of it still applies, plus the added delight of a strong, gusty wind :(
In other words it's horrid out there, no gardening or laundry for today then..
-
Light grey. Much warmer than yesterday. It must have poured down in the night, my Michelmas Daisys have been flattened. Tomorrows forecast is terrible.
-
Not raining, patches of sunshine, very breezy and a cool 12ºC
Tomorrow is "Noah, get the animals in!" weather.
-
Foul start to the morning, heavy rain and gales, started clearing up by about midday and since then has been nice, wind has dropped and no more rain. I'm another one hoping tomorrows forecast is not as bad as they are predicting.
-
Heavy winds overnight, with heavy rain first thing, then more showers followed by a lovely sunny afternoon then more rain & decidedly cooler this evening, managed to dry the washing though :D
-
Grey, cold, damp - miserable. Drizzle rather than proper rain even.
-
Grey, cold, damp - miserable. Drizzle rather than proper rain even.
Same here! According to the forecast we have about an hour before the deluge and gales arrive, so I'd best get a shift on and go get the paper.....
-
So;id grey sky. Cold at 10ºC, windy with strong gusts and we've had 22mm of rain so far. Nasty day. Wish I'd stayed in bed!
-
Appalling - just put heating on.
-
Dull, cold, wet and windy
-
Been pouring down since just after 11, heating on.
-
Pouring down here as well, hasn't stopped all day. Very windy as well, the trees are whipping around. Just popped to Sandown and the sea is crashing into the revetment and as it's high tide at the moment, all over the road as well.
-
Mostly rain.
-
Saturday was dismal with rain all day. Yesterday was fine until the afternoon when we started getting showers. These turned into lashing rain overnight, but the sun is out now :)
Feeling much more autumnal now, but not a bad day given the weekend we have had :)
-
Here it is alternating between brilliant blue sky/sunshine and black clouds/heavy showers ::)
It was chilly last night though, down to 6C in the greenhouse.
We had a couple of heavy showers during the afternoon, so the washing came in sharpish.
-
Same here mums :)
-
Heavy rain from late evening over night. Not warm at 10c but with everything being soggy it just feels cold and damp. Being tempted by the central heating
-
It's pretty miserable again - rain, cold, wind. Just like a typical Welsh summer :D
-
Heavy rain woke me up twice during the night, but although everything is soaking, the sky is blue atm. 13C
-
Dull, cold and persisting down. Got soaked just taking dog around field. Present forecast is to dry up this afternoon
-
It's been dry but very windy :)
-
Just wet, wet and then even wetter. Chilly as well as the dampness seeks into the bones. Central heating is on but only for a few hours in the morning and evening. Paul's still in a t-shirt!
-
Drier and milder than the last few days, wind has a right nip to it though...
-
Just 15c, and the wind has calmed down a bit. Been very sunny all day, so been good for washing.
-
It was cool this morning, but then the sun came out :) I had lunch in the sun/warmth of the greenhouse 25C 8) Once the wind dropped this afternoon I even got some digging done
Quickly cooled done once the sun has gone though ...
-
Bit odd - grey, rainy with a bit of breeze yet not cold at 15ºC
-
Cool and fairly grey at the moment. Meh weather ::)
-
Cool and fairly grey at the moment. Meh weather ::)
Same here ::)
-
Fine drizzle now :)
-
It's gone warm today - mainly grey but there are some sunny spells and 20c is a shock after last week.
-
Warm and overcast.
-
Cool and fairly grey at the moment. Meh weather ::)
Same here ::)
A little whle ago it started to rain, and it has turned decidedly chilly as well :( so clicked the heating on again *sigh*
-
It's raining for the 6th straight day in a row. We're getting pretty sick of it. I guess I should look on the bright side, my kelp beds have never looked better.
-
It's raining for the 6th straight day in a row. We're getting pretty sick of it. I guess I should look on the bright side, my kelp beds have never looked better.
How's the rice crop doing? :)
Cool. grey and breezy here but it's not raining for a change.
-
Cool. grey and breezy here
same here but we have drizzle on and off as well YUK
Just looked at MetO forecast and it says Maximum temperature 20 °C.
errrmmm, I don't think so.
-
How's the rice crop doing? :)
With nearly 11 cm of rain in the last 3 days, the rice is growing ... swimmingly! :nowink: ::)
-
Lovely end to the day - 21ºC in town!
-
A lot warmer and brighter today than we've had for the last two days, at least none of the wet stuff.
-
Yesterday was pleasant if a little chilly in the breeze with lots of sunshine. Today is cloudier and dull, but dry. Down to 12ºC today
-
It's 11C, cloudy and was certainly a bit nippy first thing, down to 6C overnight in the g/house.
-
Very cold start this morning and I'm watching the leaves fall in the park. Dry but grey and dull the moment.
-
Very cold start this morning and I'm watching the leaves fall in the park. Dry but grey and dull the moment.
-
It was chilly this morning but the sun come out briefly, so I started work on the garden.
It turned grey again pretty quickly, but I managed to carry on working, with my fleece on, 'til just now - so not that bad a day ::)
-
A grey day. Not particularly cold, just uninspiring.
-
Supposed to be dry and bit sunny.. wet, grey and 12ºC
-
It is supposed to be cloudy and damp, but the sky is blue and cloudless, barely any breeze, but it is only 14c
-
It is supposed to be cloudy and damp, but the sky is blue and cloudless, barely any breeze, but it is only 14c
Same here..
-
Cold start at 6ºC but it's sunny and dry! I'm playing out all day/ :D
-
Overnight frost, down to 2C in greenhouse but a beautifully sunny and calm late morning
-
Overcast In London
-
Couple of short sharp showers but otherwise bright and sunny. Not that warm though.
-
Friday was lovely, Saturday just about OK and today it's mucky. Dark, wet, bit windy and cold. Inside work day.
-
It's grey and 12C with a very light Southerly wind, garden looks sopping wet though - so think we had some rain overnight.
-
We have had rain this morning and it is still misty and grey looking out there.
-
Perfect gardening weather no rain here, the suns been out this afernoon :)
-
Very like yesterday.. dark and damp but a little warmer around 14ºC and a lot windier. Weird.
-
Pretty much the same here with added greyness. Rain forecast for the rest of the week, at least that will give me something else to moan about ::)
-
Very like yesterday.. dark and damp but a little warmer around 14ºC and a lot windier. Weird.
Same here ,as well, so c/h is on :(
-
Exactly as forecast, last few days have been very wet - 0.2mm of rain two days running! ::)
-
A weekend of sunshine and greyness, temperature creeping ever lower. Today started bright but then turned to mostly rain.
-
Rain over night but not a lot. Surprisingly warm first thing this morning but overwhelmingly grey still.
-
It's warm, but windy and persisting down ::)
-
More rain & grey skies today  oh well I’ll have to do more housework
-
Nastier than a crocodile with toothache out there today. Wind, rain, dark but 14ºC which is very odd.
-
Steady rain starting late evening - thunder and lightening this morning whilst walking the dog  Still warmer than normal though.
-
Steady rain starting late evening - Still warmer than normal though.
Yes, woke up steaming under the winter quilt ::) The overnight 'low' was 15C, weird weather.
-
Cooler at 11ºC, windier, wetter and darker. It's like dusk at the moment and we've got the lights on.
-
Heavy rain throughout the night and early morning. Damp and grey now.
-
5 minutes ago I would have said grey and a bit dull THEN the heavens opened and the wind started, absolutely ghastly, shopping trip abandoned for the time being.
-
Raining yet again. >:(
-
*Update* I was out driving around two hours ago and we had the mother of all thunderstorms, it was a bit hairy on the bypass!
-

-
*Update* I was out driving around two hours ago and we had the mother of all thunderstorms, it was a bit hairy on the bypass!
Yes we had that here too complete with thunder, I was in the poly tunnel  ‘‘twas rather loud & just a bit hairy.
-
Started off raining, windy and cold. It's now stopped raining but still windy and cold at 6ºC
-
Last night was horrendous with the heavy rain and wind. It's still been windy today but at least it's been dry. Not very warm though.
-
Frost! and glorious sun, was woken by the central heating bursting into life, the thermostat is set to 15. one of those days when you need gloves and sunglasses.
-
Grey, cold and showery - hi ho, it is what it is.
-
Grey, not enough wind to stir the washing, cold. Not bad if it was February.
-
It's been a 'non' day here, not bright, not cloudy just there. No rain but just grey and dreary. As I say a very non descript day.
-
It's been a 'non' day here, not bright, not cloudy just there. No rain but just grey and dreary. As I say a very nondescript day.
Same here :(
-
Rained a bit over night so it has a damp feel this morning. Warmer than last week currently 11c but the grey is back again. Central heating is on more for comfort than warmth though ::)
-
Glorious sunshine, windy and cold. Ideal weather for drying clothes.
-
It's been a stormy night here. At midnight I was making sure the greenhouses were secure! It's easing now but far from nice out there. Supposed to improve later today but we'll see.
-
Glorious sunshine, windy and cold. Ideal weather for drying clothes.
Yes, with a few clouds scudding across the sky - a perfect March day :D
-
Several heavy sudden showers, but otherwise quite a bright day. Not very warm though.
-
Raining again and a tad breezy as it will be for the rest of this week. :(
-
It's cloudy, showery, breezy and 14C, miserable weather ::)
-
It's gone warm again at 16c but that's about the only good thing, it's very windy, grey and everything has a dampness to it.
-
Pluviating it down!
-
It's nasty. Wind, horizontal rain, more wind and even wetter. Surprisingly hovered around 13ºC all day! 36mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
-
Thing is John you have given that weather of yours permission to come here. And we're the other side of the country with some sturdy hills in between. Which don't seem to be much defence.
-
Mild, but no rain here for 3 days (and even then it was less than 1 mm!)
River levels very low here for the time of year...
-
Well unlike Sheffield, or Arrakis as some call it, it's poured and stormed all night here. The magic no-wires thingy tells me it's 13.2ºC out there and we've had 63.9mm of wet stuff fall from the sky in the last 24 hours.
It's that dark that it feels too early to be up.
-
Mild this morning, the wind has died down and it's very grey. We're forecast for rain later but nothing serious.
-
It's been grey and windy this morning and now it's raining again. Temps are about 14C.
-
It's blowing a gale and raining not a nice day :)
-
Steady rain overnight - but nothing like more further north
Mild and grey again today - more rain in the forecast.
-
After a night where the wind howled and the rain bucketed down, the morning has started just the same. It may be time to build a boat. The forecast is, at best, damp for another week.
-
Calm and bright at the moment but we had a deluge last night.
-
Wet. Dog now has a paddling pool in the middle of the lawn. No wind but just plain miserable.
-
There was a gap in the rain yesterday - everything squelching and a spring appeared in the field. Water bubbling up and forming a little stream.
Today the rain has passed over to the east but the next band is due on Sunday. It's calm, patches of blue between fluffy white clouds and cool at 8ºC
-
Lots of rain overnight and first thing, easing off now- just spitting. It feels very mild as though.
My jab appointment is at 2.30pm and I don't want to get soaked, waiting for the bus - so please no more 'til I'm back home ::)
-
It's sodden here - absolutely! Water continues to pour from the retaining wall and another spring has appeared in the field by the raised beds!
Not a valid vimeo URL
-
Quite sunny after more overnight rain but having the occasional light shower. Ground is sodden so need some drying winds now.
-
Very wet overnight and first thing, but had pretty much cleared up by 9.30am. It has actually been quite sunny this afternoon, but cool and breezy.
-
Mild and sunny, just as well, had to leave the patio doors open while I was painting the living room.
-
Very wet and very windy this morning which we were warned about. No need to go anywhere so can stay indoors in the warm.
-
Pretty hard to sleep last night with the wind howling but it's quite calm and bright to start the day. Expecting it to start again soon and possibly some lightning late morning to make a change.
Water still pouring off the field through the wall and bubbling up by the raised beds.
-
Wet, windy and miserable.
-
It's persisting down, and overflowing the gutters - obviously both the back yard and the front path are flooded - so I decided not to walk up the hill for a paper
-

Our weather has cheered up. It is still breezy but the sun is out and we have blue sky. Hopefully it is headed your way later :)
-
Wet and windy.
-
It's stayed very windy all day, but when it rains, it rains. :D
-
Much the same as others, cold winds, temperature drop.Blue/ white sky. Was a bit of sun earlier, but it has gone now. Mrs B
-
The wind has dropped slightly but again, when it rains, it rains. We've got workmen in at the moment replacing the windows at two of the flats we rent out and the rain is angling itself specifically 'in' the open window. :nowink:
-
A sudden cold snap - still frost on the grass this morning walking Max. At least it's nice and bright for a change.
-
Yes, blue skies out there but a bit nippy Brr, There's no frost in the garden, but cold enough for one on the more open allotments.
I'll have to check the dahlias later, probably time to cut them down and mulch the roots. I'm going to leave them in, rather than lift them, and see what happens. They seem to be ok on other plots so fingers crossed.
I
-
The wind has finally eased off to a breeze, the rain is now light rather than monsoon and it's about 9ºC. At least the new 'springs' that appeared have stopped.
-
A lovely sunny start but only 6C Brr! Overnight low in the greenhouse of 1C....
Lots of tender stuff still out in tubs, better get a move (and a coat!) on.....
-
Showery and cold at 8ºC, quite breezy. Supposed to be dry tomorrow.. we'll see. :(
-
Sunny with some white clouds this morning but now it's all gone grey.
-
Bright, sunny, dry - yes, dry! - little breeze and chilly at 8ºC
Best day for what seems like ages!
-
Grey here and 8C, but the Northerly wind, gusting at 30mph, is making it feel very cold
-
Sunny but quite cold in the shade.
-
The same as MoS. I feel very cold today, and have now put a thermal vest on, but fingers keep turning icy white.
-
Cold wind and overcast. A few spits and spots but nothing more. Body warmer put on today as my back was cold.
-
Another cold and frosty morning - down to 1C in the greenhouse again, some things in there are looking a bit sad..
I've turned up the c/h - which usually means it will warm up outside :D I can but hope......
-
Frosty first thing. Still cold but glorious sunshine. If all winter could be like this I'd be happy.
-
Had a touch of frost last night for the first time then it was grey until about 11.30 when the sun came out so I went to do some gardening. It then started drizzling so I came in and now the sun is out again. >:(
-
Heavy rain and quite windy.
-
Still, not a hint of breeze. No frost. A glorious sunrise. Hope it stays sunny for the rest of the day.
-
Still, not a hint of breeze. No frost. A glorious sunrise. Hope it stays sunny for the rest of the day.
Snap! Overnight low in the greenhouse was 4C.
-
Fine but jolly windy and cold.
-
Same here, 80 miles to the north of you
-
Bright, sunny and calm, 9C now, but the overnight low in the g/house was 2C. Brrr
-
Quite mild and still.
-
Grey and calm and 10C
Overnight low of 7C in the g/house.
-
After last night's storm, still a bit windy. Very dull and damp. At least the springs haven't come back! Not too cold at 10.5ºC
-
Had more overnight rain and now it's gloomy with some little showers, but it's not cold by any means.
-
Drizzly and breezy all day, occasionally the rain became heavier in short bursts. Supposed to be better over the weekend.
-
Still, grey, damp and 10ºC
Not the best of days but could be worse
-
Still warm out there and the wind has dropped. Very dull and grey this week, the house lights have been on most days.
-
Bit like yesterday.. cloudy, cool and damp. I suppose I shouldn't moan, it could be worse.
-
Blue skies again so been out in the garden this morning but now it's clouded over. Still not cold even though we had a slight frost overnight.
-
We started out with some blue sky, but we've had a few sharp showers which quickly passed as the breeze got up, but it's now brought us grey sky and drizzle pffftt. Still not a cold day though - they are forecast for later in the week
-
Still warm for the time of year - 11ºC this morning. Very grey and damp. Just enough drizzle to be a nuisance. At least it's calm out there.
-
I thought the same John, It's very warm but the weather has a very damp feel to it and it's oh so very grey. The forecast is for snow at the end of next week
-
It's a sunny morning here, but cold and frosty first thing.
Overnight low in the greenhouse was 2.5C.
Certainly not looking forward to the cold in some of the forecasts, Lardman - I hope they're wrong ::)
-
Chilly, overcast and breezy here. It seems wrong that places further north are warmer than here in the south. I've had to have the light on all day as it's been so dark. Not looking forward to the forecast for the weekend when it's supposed to get even colder.
-
A mild 24°C here, partly cloudy, with the sun setting on some golden fall color.
This is what we call 'Indian Summer'.
-
24c is shorts and t-shirt weather - I'm sure it's not true but looking at that picture all i can imagine are swarms of biting insects. ::) :nowink:
It's very warm still but the dampness is becoming more noticeable, next weeks forecast for snow has also been changed to rain.
-
Despite yesterday's forecast telling me it would be dry and clear today, it is, in fact, grey, and drizzly ::) It isn't cold though at 11C, so I shouldn't complain :nowink:
-
Grey but not particularly cold. Been out in the garden this morning but it just stared to mizzle as forecast so came inside.
-
24c is shorts and t-shirt weather - I'm sure it's not true but looking at that picture all i can imagine are swarms of biting insects. ::) :nowink:
Fortunately no biting insects!
Today it's 13°C, might get to 17°C later, with rain tonight and tomorrow. A freeze is expected tomorrow night.
-
Heavy frost this morning a much cooler at 1c but it feels much colder in the wind. Just in time for the boiler to start playing up again ::)
-
Heavy rain all night, and drizzly now. Cold in the N wind and 7C Brrr! Thick cardigan on today as I don't want to turn the c/heating up, unless I really have to
-
First proper frost of the season this morning, nippy wind but bright sun.
-
No frost here very nippy this morning just been for our walk in the wintery sunshine :)
-
Cold but not freezing with yet more grey.
-
Grey & murky down here in Cornwall today, has been wall to wall sunshine but cold since Saturday so can’t complain
-
It's grey, miserable and only 7C. Feels colder, though, because of the mistiness.
-
Just 7 here as well, and grey and murky. Doesn't feel warm especially without the c/h off. Going to the supermarket now, perhaps it will be armer in the car !
-
Grey and cold here too. There air is very damp and unpleasant.
-
Looks like a decent day here before the storm arrives tomorrow. It's cold but sunny and dry with a little breeze, supposed to cloud over later.
-
Sunny, but with a nasty cold wind from the North.(shiver)
So, I open the door for Mollycat - she looks out, then turns and heads straight back to 'her' chair, and I shut the door quickly
Don't think I'll be gardening today, unless I can find something to do in the greenhouse :nowink:
-
An overnight frost then it's lovely and sunny but only a tad cold.
-
We had the frost yesterday night/morning. Twas chilly planting out the late daffodil bulbs for the neighbour and having a fight with her rampant nasturtiums to go into the last brown bin collection.
It's warmer outside this morning but there's the threat of gales (Amber) and rain with a bit of snow thrown in later. Well I say warmer but throw in the wind chill and maybe not.
-
Very windy here - woke me at 5am with howling down the chimney. Odd flurries of rain but nothing heavy yet. It feels colder than the 6ºC on the thermometer.
-
Unpleasant. The rain started around 8, it's grey cold and breezy. No sign of the gales yet and I'd much prefer if they didn't show up.
-
It's been a cold & rainy morning, now the wind is getting up and there are some sunny gaps between the clouds. It's not tempting me, or the cat, outside though ::)
-
A bit breezy turning into gusts at times. Short sharp showers but only raining steadily since we got home. Bit hairy on some exposed places coming down the west coast on the way home but not in places we expected.
-
The wind is crazy out there - things flying about, piles of leaves by the back door. Patio potted plants moved into shelter now rolling around the patio :(
Will I have 2 greenhouses in the morning? Your guess is as good as mine!
-
Windy evening and night, but not exceptionally so.
Think the Met Office forecast may have slightly under-egged the snow pudding though (pic taken half an hour ago ):
-
I hope you lot taking the brunt of the wind stay safe.
It hasn't reached us yet, atm it is just cold and persisting down. I think I'll manage without a newspaper ::)
-
No snow, but it's cold - just 1ºC
Both greenhouses still standing but pots scattered over the patio, table now has 3 legs and the chairs have been learning to fly.
Bit calmer right now than when I finally fell asleep to the howling and banging outside.
-
It's windy but so far not too bad other than a few branches there doesn't appear to be much damage. Sleet this morning walking max and the wind was absolutely bitter, but it's sunshine and showers now.
-
We had a slight covering of snow yesterday evening, but all gone now.
Glad I don't have to go out in these showers and gusts!
-
Not too much rain last night, but the wind has really picked up. Worcester Cathedral has been damaged, cancelling the choir's first concert in two years (my wife is a cathedral chorester).
https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/19746233.storm-arwen-causes-extensive-damage-worcester-cathedral/
*Edit* Sprog has just told me it was actually snowing first thing this morning!

That's such a risk with old buildings like churches. There was a fatality quite a few years ago in the city centre in a similar incident  :(. Our buildings manager promptly went onto our church roof and checked for / removed a piece of stone which could have had a similar fate. He thought better to ask for permission to do so afterwards, than risk the same outcome :(
-
Bitterly cold i haven't left the bungalow today, stay safe all of you :)
-
Very cold, excessively windy (gusts up to 98mph), very wet, full of dangerous roofs and treacherous trees. Hope Storm Arwen wasn't the start of a bad storm season.
-
The wind has eased back to just the occasional 30mph gust and it has stopped raining now, and the sky is clearing thank goodness, as the footpath is flooded again.
A few odd branches down in neighbour's garden, and a fence down along the terrace, but can't see much other damage.
We had 6 small power cuts, the longest was 10 minutes and by the time I'd found the matches and candles, the lights were back on :D
-
Well it's calm now, phew. Greenhouses survived, which I was really worried about. Aerobin composter lid has vanished - hope it turns up. The big shed has lost some of its roofing felt. I was hoping it would stay dry until I can fix it but it's been drizzling.
I suppose I'd best face up to sorting out everything that's blown about on the patio...
-
Cold but calm. There was another tree down in the park this morning, but I'm not sure if that happened yesterday or last night. There a bit of sunshine about but nothing worth getting excited over. I've not ventured into the garden yet - I'm in no mood to find out the GH's and/or shed have been mangled.
-
It's snowing here - yeh! Not enough to build a snowman as yet but one can dream.
-
I was going to venture out of the door but it's cold enough that the garden borders are frozen on top and then it started to snow. = settled a bit and has now started to thaw a bit. Ice sheet no doubt in a bit.
-
A bit blustery yesterday afternoon, but it’s like a sunny calm spring day today… bit nippy though.
-
We had more snow yesterday evening, not enough to make problems on the roads, but enough that I had to scrape the car at 720am this morning before going out to church. I discovered that I'm not quite tall enough to reach all of the windscreen of the Jazz - I've had it 18 months but not had to scrape the windscreen before going out before!!
-
it started of cold here but dry then about an hour ago down come the snow it begging to really look like winter here if it keeps snowing I mite make a snowman in the morning
-
We’ve enough snow to make a snowman now , started at about 3pm. Was too cold for snow first thing.
-
The wind dropped overnight, we've had everything from sunshine, sleet and snow, but nothing has stuck.
-
It's just on 0ºC out there - but we're warm enough indoors :) Burning the rowan that came down in a storm a couple of years back. Free fuel if you don't count the time cutting it up and splitting it.
No snow, just intermittant cold drizzle and wind today.
-
Cold, heavy frost but no snow. I can see cars driving past on the main road with a inch or so settled on them though. Chuck us a log John, woke up this morning to 9c in the bedroom as the boiler is having another temper tantrum. >:(
-
A sunny, cold 1C and frosty morning, but I'm going nowhere Brrr!
-
Still got that snow, everywhere covered over but not too deep, very cold though, heard the boiler click on in the night  on the frost setting, didn’t stay on long thankfully, hubbys now altered the temperature it will come on at as he’s been having fun with the ‘hive’ thingy we have...he does like a gadget! But in my opinion these things never seem to work very well or for long enough to justify the costs, but what do I know :nowink:
-
Very very cold but sunshine :)
-
A smattering of snow last night and a proper hard frost this morning. Still bitterly cold out, pond is still frozen over in the garden.
-
Much warmer today at 8c but soggy after the rain overnight. It's grey but looks like the sun it trying to make an appearance.
-
Warmer here too - 10ºC but light rain and a lead grey sky. Misty too - earlier today we owned as far as the eye could see! Low cloud I suppose rather than mist.
-
Same here, it's grey, misty and damp, but warmer at 10. Only 1 cardigan needed today :D
-
Very windy out there - cold 3ºC - damp after last night's rain. Like a Welsh summer's day :)
-
Yesterday turned out to be a really nice day  but the wind picked late evening and it started to rain. This morning everything is soggy and it's cool again but there are patches of sunshine so it doesn't feel a gloomy.
-
7C just now, and it's been gloomy all day, but just managed to get back home (from the dentist ) and the door open, as the downpour started. I couldn't have times it any better :D
So many people, on the buses, and in the shops in town, without masks. :(
-
So many people, on the buses, and in the shops in town, without masks. :(
I think the police should be able to give them a ticket - like a speeding ticket.
-
Bright and sunny but only 3C ::)
-
Rain again over night and everything is now very soggy and slimy. Bright and sunny at the moment, much colder though.
-
Lovely blue sky and bright but brrrr - bang on freezing point. Damp patches on the patio so I think we had some rain overnight.
-
Baby blue skies, sunny without a cloud in the sky. 21 C, with a light breeze, sipping a drink, with zero complaints!
-
I so wish I had your weather right now, Subp ::) 8)
-
A warmer start to the day at 8ºC but it's on and off drizzle despite the met office insisting it's just cloudy
Wind is calm - which is nice.
-
Grey, mizzle and 7C - which isn't as cold as I was lead to believe by the forecasts.....
::) I'm pleased about that, though :D
-
Grey, mizzle and 7C
Same here. The dampness is horrible though - making it feel much colder than it actually is.
-
WInd came up in the night and it's really blowy out there. Few spits of rain. Quite warm at 6ºC last night but it's dropped this morning to just 2ºC
-
Rain has stopped and it's trying to brighten up. A grey day.
-
Spits and spots of rain, here, but it is still very dark and still, 3C
-
Dark, frequent blustery showers, and only 4.4C ('feels like' 1.4C) - yuk! :(
-
Bright this morning but the rain clouds have started to show up now. 2c and everything is soggy, it's very November out there.
-
Really bright and light out but a bitter breeze. Nipper and I were forced to take a pit stop on our walk this morning for a cheeky hot chocolate and bacon butties ;)
-
Rain first thing but a very chill wind. Had to stand out in it (fortunately only for 40 minutes) at the walk-in centre for my booster jab.
-
Today was partly cloudy, a warm 73 °F (22.8 °C).
Yesterday was even warmer, 80 °F (26.7 °C), I think that was a record.
No temperatures below freezing forecast between now and Christmas.
-
Cold, grey and grotty with drizzle and light wind.
-
Persisting down, dark and 3C - path flooded gain ::) At least the wind has dropped.
-

You can go off some people, you know :D
Quite bright and dry here, a blue sky presiding. A balmy 3ºC as I write but it may go even higher later in the day. Winds have calmed but still quite breezy.
-
Grey 4c and the wind is much colder. Feels like I've left a window open (checked and I haven't). I'm seriously considering a second jumper  alternatively I could be coming down with man flu. ::)
-
NO WALK today bitterly cold wind down the south
-
Nippy wind out, didn't stop us going out for a walk and tidying up the garden.
-
It's cold 3C, damp and miserable, with more heavy rain in the forecast :(
-
It's cold 3C, damp and miserable, with more heavy rain in the forecast :(
Ditto :(
-
Cold and soggy.
-
4 C and raining. I am cold although CH is on. I have just put on a thermal vest and another fleece.
The sky looks like to has had a punch-up and is all bruised.
-
I am cold although CH is on.
It's not just you, Mrs B
-
It was grey and cold this morning when I went for my booster. It's started raining and is very windy, CH on but does not seem to be making a difference.
-
Grey & dismal here at least it’s dry at the moment.
-
Cold, grey, damp, soggy and the wind is picking up. It's a duvet and hot chocolate day.
-
Here, it's calm (so far!) and cold 3C, with a heavy frost.
-
Storm Barra has arrived. It's tough out there. Woke me around 7am with the wind howling so I pulled the duvet up and hoped to go back to sleep. Unfortunately the cats wanted breakfast right up to the moment it was served when they decided to go back to sleep. I was up then.
-
Wild, wet and very windy here. :(
-
Horrid - really raining and blowing hard.
-
Dull, chilly and wet, about as bad as the weather here gets without being disruptive.
-
Foul. Rain and wind started about 10 am and show no sign of stopping. An interesting assortment of outside Christmas decorations blowing about in the road.
-
Main rain band seems to have just about passed through here now - only 5mm of rain and maximum gust of 30mph, so have clearly got away with it quite lightly this time...
-
I think I've found a new leak in the conservatory, but not sure...
Raining cats and dogs here, and we're having a lot of windy gusts too! Presumably we're last on the UK bashing list for the moment - except for Mumofstig a few miles East...
Take care Mum!
-
A disgusting day rain wind and bitterly cold , wind all died down now
-
It's just like yesterday but for a little more rain. Greenhouses still standing (touch wood)
-
Bright, sunny and 7C just now, with a gusty wind now and again, just when you think it's gone ::)
-
So, yesterday we had Storm Barra, which delivered a mere 5mm of rain and a strong breeze gusting up to 30mph.
This morning, with Barra long gone, we have already had more than twice as much rain, with very strong winds gusting to 40mph.
Go figure! ;)
-
Go figure! ;)
I didn't think it was over - it's been continuous here and is still going strong. Predicted to finish around 5am Thursday here.
-
Go figure! ;)
I didn't think it was over - it's been continuous here and is still going strong. Predicted to finish around 5am Thursday here.
Oh, must have misunderstood the weather forecast (thought it had moved off into the continent.)
Still an inconsistency with the yellow warnings though - yesterday; 2, for both wind and rain, today; no warnings at all for this part of the country. ::)
-
Well the wind has just blown one of the house wall lights off the wall - tried to fix it but I was having difficulty standing in the gusts, never mind climbing a step stool
Job for tomorrow methinks..
-
If it's electrically safe, there's no way I'd be messing around with it in weather like this. :nowink:
-
If it's electrically safe, there's no way I'd be messing around with it in weather like this. :nowink:
Errr.. probably. Worst case is the fusebox trips and I have to isolate the circuit.
-
Depending on your consumer unit layout it may cause havoc with the RCD tripping and not just the single MCB. Given your recent power related PC problems you may want to look at unplugging some of the none essentials, just in case ::)
-
Good advice Lardman, but the computers are on UPS if the trip does go. I can re-fix the light in about 30 minutes but I wasn't exaggerating about the wind. One gust nearly blew me over!
-
Weather down here is blooming terrible! It is windy, wet and cold. We had to go for our third vaccination this morning and it was actually snowing at one point. I have never known it to be so cold at this time of the year it has been consistently a good 5-7C below the normal seasonal temperature since the end of October... thank heavens for oak logs and compressed wood fire logs a mix made in heaven  I have just started experimenting with lignite briquettes which are great if you just want a long gentle heat .
-
Calmer today thankfully. It's still cold, damp and grey though.
-
It's bright, sunny and 4C today, plus it's calm so far.
-
OK at the moment - starting up again this afternoon so off to try and fix the light.
-
It's finally stopped raining and the sun has made a welcome appearance.
-
Light fixed just in time as the rain started when putting the tools away!
-
Dry start to the day, cold at 4ºC and breezy but much improved on the storms.
-
Soggy overnight, cold this morning and a bit blustery but at least there's sunshine and blue sky at the moment.
-
Soggy overnight, cold this morning and a bit blustery but at least there's sunshine and blue sky at the moment.
Snap!
-
Sun plus a few very heavy showers.
-
Bit warmer, calm but drizzle turning to heavy rain soon
-
Soggy overnight, cold this morning and a bit blustery but at least there's sunshine and blue sky at the moment.
Snap!
Same again today :D
-
No sunshine here, just grey. Supposed to be warmer !
-
Our sun disappeared at lunchtime, Mrs B, cloudy and spitting just now as I went for a walk, round the block, to stretch my legs :(
-
Warm, windy, with ominous lead-gray skies.
The wind is whipping my pine trees in creaky circles. A cold front is coming through, the same one that produced tornadoes which killed over 100 people last night in Kentucky, though I don't think it will be as bad here.
Sharp cold fronts are always dangerous this time of year.
-
Stay safe :(
-
I hope everything is ok there, Subp.
Here it's grey and calm and feeling warm at 10C.
-
I hope everything is ok there, Subp.
Here it's grey and calm and feeling warm at 10C.
In fact its so warm, I've been outside with the Workmate, altering Elder Daught's greenhouse doors!
It's a wooden affair, a Christmas present from us, and while Wickes were pretty good at delivery etc, somehow the doors were nearly an inch out of true, and it's taken several hours to get them planed and sanded to get a decent fit! They should work now (I hope)!
That's another job for a Growster to do before the end of the week!
-
Soggy and grey but much warmer than of late.
-
Soggy and grey but much warmer than of late.
Much the same here :(
-
Soggy and grey but much warmer than of late.
Much the same here :(
and here :D
-
Gloomy with a few spots of rain.
-
Not a bad day at least it's dry :)
-
Soggy, warm (already 11c  ) and although still early, very grey.
-
Misty, damp and dark. 7ºC at the moment, may hit a staggering 8ºC :)
-
Soggy and grey but much warmer than of late.
Much the same here :(
and here :D
Same again
-
Same again :D grey, calm, and feels warm at 12C, so no cardigan needed today :)
-
Bit damp, light grey with blue shading sky, calm and 9ºC which is OK. Still got the fire going though - it cheers the house up and keeps the humidity down.
-
A cool 5ºC but calm and dry. The forecast is threatening a little sunshine soon. We'll see :)
-
About the same here, but as usual it's very dull and grey.
-
Grey and drizzly, not quite as warm as the last few days. Mollycat took 1 look outside, turned round and went back to bed. Says it all really :D
-
Gloomy and mild for the time of year. Didn't even need my coat this morning when I popped into work.
-
The first sunny day for a while but it's getting cooler now here.
-
Dull, grey and overcast. Not inspiring me to get outside at all. Sea mist up the west coast meant we couldn't see the North Island or even the white cliffs at Freshwater until we got very close to them.
-
Sunshine this morning soon clouded over for the afternoon :)
-
Grey and feels colder than it is at 7c, There was bit of drizzle first thing but that looks to have blown over now.
-
Grey and feels colder than it is at 7c,
Same and still drizzly here :(
-
Cold start - around 4ºC - but.. are you ready?
BLUE SKY AND SUNSHINE!!!
Yes, really, truly looking nice.
-
Cold start - around 4ºC - but.. are you ready?
BLUE SKY AND SUNSHINE!!!
Yes, really, truly looking nice.
Same here went for a lovely walk along the beach :D
-
Misty drizzle this morning, it's also colder and absolutely still. The dampness is making it generally unpleasant to be out, another duvet day.
-
Misty drizzle here as well, but didn't feel any colder when I opened the door.... I don't think the towel that's on the line is any drier than it was when I put it out ::) Think I had better admit defeat - bring it in, rinse and dry it indoors

Looks like yesterday out there :D :D
Colder than the weatherman says - he says 6ºC but it's about 3ºC out there.
Got the fire going which is much appreciated by the moggies!
-
The worst sort of high pressure system in charge - slightly frosty start, still only 2C, and very foggy here. :(
-
very foggy damp a real dismal day every thing you touch is wet and cold definitely not a gardening day :D
-
Foggy but not too cold here again, that said I might not have felt it as I was cutting fallen tree branches up to take to a friend for his wood burner this morning.
-
very grey and cold, just come back from our walk :)
-
Like Mrs P, Grey and cold, the mist and cloud lifts for a few minutes and things appear, then disappear again.
My CH is on.
-
*update* Went out without my coat, it was cold and I regretted it.
-
Misty drizzle here as well, but didn't feel any colder when I opened the door.
Same again, but it does feel much colder Brrr I didn't go out to look at the temperature though, that felt like a step too far ::)
-
Grey, still and cool but at least it's not pouring down with rain yet.
-
Dry and calm but chilly and dull. They're teasing with sunshine symbols on the Met Office forecast but I'm not betting on sunshine appearing.
Incidentally, the moon has been pretty recently. Rising over the hill behind us before it gets dark looking huge. The other night it was so bright that it dazzled to look at.
-
Overcast with a few spots of rain.
-
Blueish skies with a few banks of heavy cloud. Some weak, but welcome, sunshine. V Chilly, around 1ºC. Calm and dry. Result!
-
We've no sun, but the sky isn't as dark as yesterday, so some improvement, but it's not any warmer 4C.
-
Cold and a heavy frost this morning.
-
Cold and a heavy frost this morning.
Snap, it's 0C Brrrr!!
Does shivering count as exercise?
-
Warmer, very grey.. rain on the way. Oh well.
-
Much warmer today - 8ºC and it's not light yet. Wet, calm. Looks like I'll be indoors cleaning the oven ready for Saturday :(

Same here, except for cleaning the oven
-
Warmer today but it's damp and grey again. I've dug out the thermal socks and I'm considering a third layer.
-
Very grey and misty this morning and now it's raining. A day indoors methinks.
-
Warm 6c, still and damp again, the morning mist has yet to clear.
-
Bit damp but a light grey sky, calm and 10ºC which isn't bad at all.
-
Wet and gloomy but not too cold.
-
This morning was mild and bright. I went out gardening and was singing away out loud. I realised that I always sing when I am happy gardening !!!!! Now, as forecast, heavy dark thick mist and rain. Glad I made the most of it. Took some carrots across the road for the horses and they are happy as well.
-
Light rain, cool and all round grim. Merry Christmas all!
-
It's been a mild grey day, but it's persisting down now. Santa and his reindeer will get wet tonight ::)
-
Breezy, grey and drizzly all day. Now persisting down. Most of the food we need is out in the utility room which is attached to the kitchen but we have to go outside to get to it. We are taking it in turns to go out there to get what we need.

Tin of Beans - Check
Bread for Toast - Check
Butter - Check
There you go, job done! :D :D
Dry here with light skies, patches of blue. Cool at 6ºC and breezy.
-
Grey, wet but fairly mild here. The rain started yesterday, so I suspect the overnight cloud cover stopped the temperature tanking too far down.
I have to go to the shed for spuds, but otherwise am happy to stay out of it :D
-
Very wet here, as well :(
I got enough potatoes in yesterday, so don't think I need to go out for anything :)
-
Rain yesterday afternoon and most of the night has left everything very soggy and there's more forecast for this afternoon :( Not as warm as yesterday and there's a cutting wind coming from the west which made walking the dog very unpleasant this morning.
-
Drizzly on and off, but otherwise not too bad.
-
Festively tipping it down!

Festively tipping it down!
Diving over to daught's village yesterday, near Marden (Kent), a field had flooded, and water was flowing over the road! I watched to see if a chap coming the other way was getting through and he did OK, so a nervous dip into the lake proved OK in first gear at full revs.
The last time I did that (2000), near Smarden (another Kent village), I didn't get out the other side and wrote the car off, so add that little tidbit to the disaster on 'What's for tea', and you'll now have the full picture!
-
Chucking it down on the south coast. For the first time since we've had her our staffie dug her heels in and refused to go for a walk (no complaints from husband). She's now settled on the settee
-
6ºC - bit drizzly but calm after yesterday which got very windy.
-
Damp and grey. The rain has eased off but everything is sopping wet out there.
-
Also grey and soggy here and none too warm either. More duvet days than not lately.

Same here, but mild as well. Same response from Mollycat, when I opened the door ::)
-
Another damp, grey, drizzly day the same as yesterday. Had torrential rain overnight starting as soon as it got dark with winds that lashed it onto every window of the house!
-
Not Nice.
-
Not nice either here although we did have a dry spell about lunch time for a couple of hours.
-
Cold and damp here as well! Going to warm up tonight with a few (lots)drops of whisky this evening.
-
Grey and soggy but not raining at the moment. The wind has died down but it's still not warm.
-
Calm, 8C and persisting down again, footpath flooded as usual. ::)
-
Sane as yesterday except dog on the armchair rather than the settee.
-
It's been raining all morning very wet and grey out there :)
-
very heavy rain overnight and this morning. thick mist and a bit blowy. ch is on.
-
It's been raining all morning very wet and grey out there :)
Same here. Another duvet day.
-
Cold and rainy from time to time.
-
Ground is still soggy from heavy rain on 25/12 , windy and showery today .
At least the days are getting longer ( !! ) :)
-
Very soggy now under foot, managed to get back from the park this morning just before it started to pour down again. Seems warmer, but there's a stiff breeze taking the edge of it.
-
It's clear, bright and warm, at 10C, but rain is forecast to arrive at about 10am and stay for the rest of the day ::)
-
We have sunshine and wind and very mild, i think we've had enough rain to last us for a little while :)
-
Very low cloud - ground level here! Cool at 7ºC, little breeze, damp or drizzle. One of those drear December days.
-
Same as the last four days really, wet, dreary and breezy. Getting a bit fed up of it now. Sandown Carnival is already muttering about having to cancel Saturdays fireworks off the end of the pier.
-
Actually came out sunny for a few hours this morning ! . Big change from the strong winds and squally rain of last night :)
-
More rain than you can shake a stick at again, was really hoping to get out for a walk this Christmas but at this rate it’ll be a swim!
-
Mild with heavy rain showers. Just waiting for a break in the rain to take the dog out for his second run today
-
We have grey sky, calm, and 10C, so not too bad - but still more rain in the forecast ::)
-
Actually warm out! 14c in our garden, heating went off last night and hasn't kicked back in since!
-
Well the rain has stopped (for now, more forecast) & we even saw a brief glimpse of a yellowish disc n tge sky this afternoon so I got my walk but only round the allotment site x 2 as. Visited the chickens to give them there afternoon treats :)
-
Soggy and grey - but very warm, it's already 11c.
-
A line of bad storms rolled through at 1:30 AM, including some hail. I've been up for 3 hours, just need to wait until daylight to see if there was any damage.
-
Soggy and grey - but very warm, it's already 11c.
Same here!
Hope things are OK when dawn arrives SP.

Same here!!
-
Same here, but we're more relieved that the weather didn't keep our drain-unblocker man away, as the system's been down since Boxing day..:0(
-
Same here as well.
-
Still dreary with frequent short drizzly showers (usually when I have to go outside). Not cold though although the weather forecast is for it to start dropping again after the weekend.
-
It stayed warm but the wind has really picked up and the rain became heavy.
-
Breezy, grey and mild 11c.
-
Drizzle, damp, grey with a bit of breeze. 10ºC - very weird for the time of year.
-
Drizzle, damp, grey with a bit of breeze. 10ºC
We're the much the same and up to 12c now.
-
BL__DY alful day it hasn't stopped, please give us some dry days garden looks an absolute mess :)
-
Horrid, but mild. Save on CH. :D
-
Small jersey day, and I keep looking at the garden and wishing that the blasted montbretia didn't hang around looking absolutely ghastly!
-
I woke up hot and 'glowing' Covid? No... it is a sunny, calm, spring-like 14C outside though.
So I've turned the heating right down :D
-
It's 10ºC here - grey but dry. Very windy though.
-
Warm enough for me to do my first project in the shed today!
Just altered a tapestry frame for Mrs Growster, to fit the Christmas present Father Red Bloke gave her a few days ago...
-
14c this afternoon, walked to the supermarket in a t-shirt, regretted it when it started raining!
-
We also had sunshine this morning went for a lovely walk with a friend then came back and started in the garden cutting things down oh what a lovely feeling, just been for another walk with OH thats it for today. :)
