Ear plugs are my usual standby. I've had a bad virus last four days - very 'sinussy'. Put plugs in for the first time in weeks last night to stop the pile driver noises next to me.

Woke up this morning practically deaf!

Obv put them in whilst still a with a bit of infection still lingering. Can't hear a thing!

Word to the wise.

Our neighbour had similar problem and after a visit to the doctor was told he had some breathing problem and was given a small machine which puffs air up his nose while he is asleep, it has stopped the snoring and he sleeps more calmly apparently.  He calls his machine Arthur (no idea why).

These are very important points!  My mother used to be a terrible snorer - spent the last 20 years of their marriage either driving dad crazy with her night-time noises or sleeping apart.  Also as she got older she was losing her memory, unable to concentrate and getting terribly short-tempered.  She really had turned into a nightmare to live with.

Eventually she went to a doctor, who referred her to a sleep clinic, who did some tests and diagnosed sleep apnea (sp?)

They sent her home with one of those puffy-machines and she is totally transformed!  After 20 YEARS of sleep deprivation she can finally get a good night's sleep!

When I see Mum I can instantly tell whether she has been using her puffy-machine.  If not, her speech is slurred, she is forgetful, and very grumpy.

For the sake of your own health and your family's sanity, if you have a bad snoring problem please do something about it!

I like the festive smileys - if Tony wants to pay for fancier ones then let him - but as this topic is about being frugal I think we should stick with the free ones.
