Hey guys I know this post has been done lots. So I know that I should keep the new birds separate for two weeks.
However, I can section them off as far as the day time is concerned but I dont have anywhere for new hens to roost.
Any suggestions? Dont stress too much cos I dont have the new hens yet.

Just going through this just now.
We tried seperating them in the run, them putting them away to roost together, but the young birds wernt getting to go away to the coop them selves as they where in a part of the run that was seperated from the pophole.
I ended up nipping out and buying a sheet of plywood and making them a nice wee coop to sit in their side of the run.
For £30 pounds you could make something similar to this....

The younger 2 pullets get about 2 thirds of the run, the older 4 hens get about a third, but they also have the garden to free range in, which the younger ones dont have yet.

Sheet of ply, £26, and a handfull of screws. I havnt put a nesting box on it, as they arnt laying yet, and by the time they are they should be in the main coop with the older girls.
It solved our problem for a relitively small price, and we can always keep it to use if we need to isolate any chook in the future. We have been unable to do this in the past when treating one with antibiotics, so have been unable to tell which egg was hers, so had to through 4 eggs a day out insted of 1. I will put a nesting box on the side at a later date.
