Courgette plant keeling over
« on: August 11, 2008, 22:35 »
Before I went away at the weekend I sprinkled the rec. amount of blood, fish and bone around my courgette and broad bean plants as they are just starting cropping and have never been fed before.  Now I've come back the courgette is loose in the soil and listing on a limb.  I've thought of these possible causes:

- high winds blew her over, arr
- didn't like the fertiliser
- damn neighbours' cats barging around - noticed something similar with swede plants nearby

It looks like if it's staked it should be OK, but what do people think?

I've had plants battered by winds in the past & left hanging by a thread. They still produced like there was no tomorrow!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
