Mystery bird
« on: March 23, 2010, 18:35 »
Does anyone know what this is please? It arrived in my friends garden with a pair of canadian geese.Using the bird identifier she thinks it looks close to a Barnacle goose, but is confused by the white head. Any ideas anyone? :)

Many thanks in advance.

Yes, definitely an Emporer Goose, and definitely an escapee - not on the British List even as a vagrant  ;)
