Title: Compost
Post by: Hitwoman on March 26, 2020, 20:55
Hi I purchased some compost - multi purpose on Sunday, and opened it up tonight.

When I opened it, it looks very dry and fibrous. It does not look like it will provide any goodness to my Plants at all.

Can anyone recommend any good composts this year please.

Compost should be a nice darkish brown colour not black and clumpy and you should be able to squeeze it and no more then two drops of moisture drip out per handful. Sounds ok to me you will be surprised what is in the woody / fibre bits that will benefit your garden even "bark chippings" have a benefit. You never said what you are using it for, If its for sowing you could always riddle it.
