Oh  :( It doesn't mention that in the Taylors Clematis brochure

Maybe I was just unlucky then! Worth a try anyway I think.

I have two Clematis armandii and they are lovely. I was looking for about 10-15 to grow up my allotment fences, but at £15 a pop on average, I guess I'll give those a miss.   ???

You could always try to grow some from cuttings.

I will, just looking for a 'quick fix'. They were quite cheap when I bought my original ones. I think they were a fiver for two!

I have a white one and the pink one ("apple blossom") and I love them both but the pink one is particularly beautiful in my view  :). The scent of both of them is just gorgeous.  They are both old plants and had no problem surviving the very cold winters a few years ago (in London anyway - I can't speak for further north - but Kent should be fine). Hope that helps!

I don't really know much about clematis, but ordinary ones root quite happily if you just peg a runner down into the soil.  Do you think this would work with Clematis armandii?
