Well I gave them a haircut & I actually quite like it... It means I don't see the row of houses or garages at the bottom but can still see my little ones. Need to cut down some of the side trunks but what do people think? Is there anything I'm not considering?  Thanks

if having a bonfire they will be spitty...I just see a couple of weeks worth of heat...trees are so different these days.  great view

I think it looks great, especially seeing their trunks. Did you do their tops as well? Be careful if you use the trimmings on a fire as grinling quite rightly says, they will spit due to the resin in the wood and leaves.
