Slug off
« on: February 18, 2013, 17:11 »
Went in the 99p shop today and they had boxes of these:

http://www.greenfingers.com/superstore/product.asp?dept_id=340&pf_id=LT1196D

They are slightly smaller boxes but I had been thinking about buying the full price version so I am glad I didn't! I bought several boxes and hope that this combined with beer traps should do the job!

They also had packs of 2 slug traps for 99p but I am being tight and just using bottles this year

I found a list of things you could do with slugs that I copied and pasted (might have even been from off here.. these are my favourites from the list:

Photograph them, so that they can give up garden grazing and jet off to become international models

Roll em up in puff pastry, bake in oven for 20 minutes and tell the guests, kids, vicar etc. that they're party sausage rolls

Learn to love them. Understand that in the eternal cycle of life, in the endless continuum of existence, they are no less significant (or hungry) than you and I, and no less deserving of love. Embrace them. Touch nirvana together.

Alternatively... Pick 'em up and slam between two bricks or nail them to the ground

Get them drunk and leave them to die happy!! :)
There is no better show of antisipation than a man sowing seeds in a field.

I seem to remember The Blessed Hugh trying them...didn't go down well

must be one of the big differences between slugs and snails - one is tasty, the other isn't
