Title: Victa 550 mower
Post by: mitzygolf on April 01, 2023, 10:22
Hi, I've just acquired this mower and intend to renovate it. Does anyone have a photo of one when new so I have the original condition. Also any other information would be very helpful please. Thanks in anticipation.

Hello my favourite mowers,I have a photo of a modern era version 1990s model ,that's an older engine  on it,you might have problems getting spares in this country, the importer decided to stop fetching parts into the country in 2010,I have a contact with a company that can supply genuine Victa parts cheaper in Australia   I have 7 Victa mowers  jezza

Hello when you work on that mower remember where the fuel tank sits as it can effect the way the fuel gets to the engine,I once put the tank on one of my Victas under the handles it would not run put it back on top runs beautifully, dont drop the carburettor needle especially if it's the black one they are little beggars to find, the needle can be orange, green black or white ,the spring in the diaphragm on the back is also coloured mine are all on purple that sets the revs at 3670 yellow is slightly faster for the four blade disc ,plain  metallic is slightly slower but gives a richer mixture as does the position of the valve in the carburettor, position A is usually the normal running speed   jezza
