Would be interested to know how much they weighed as the double yolkers we get average 116 grams.
-
please remember double yolkers are not good for the hen, they are over sized which can get stuck or break plus all hens have roughly the same amount of eggs and by in effect laying 2 at the same time they are using up their supplies quickly.
Sadly there is nothing you can do to stop them laying double yolkers :(

It is just one of ours that lays the double yolkers and when things don't go right she lays soft shelled eggs. As you say nothing we can do it is just in her makeup. We do however keep a close eye on her incase she has any complications.

I had a couple (and a soft shelled) on the first few days one of mine started laying, but all normal since!! :D
