My new girls. Omelette, Quiche and Madras.

Madras has already made a bid for freedom, but seems to have calmed down a bit now.

Brown hen was the first one out this morning, she knows the best spot for worms and insects. I will have to try and get some photo's of the other girls to post up.

If at first you don't succeed, try a different method.

She is lovely, looking forward to the other photos.

Do you use the galvanised watering can as a drinker?  I have 2 in the garden topped up as they love drinking from them.   ;)

When its cold and wet outside its good to have somewhere inside to play

When i looked in the barn this morning most of them were asleep in the straw but woke up when i went in with my camera. ::)
Its cold here today but the barn feels warm from the cattle's bodies and smells so sweet, it must be chicken heaven on a cold day.

Have you treated them for scaly leg mite as it looks like some of them have it on the photo?  One of my birds got them recently, it must have been from wild birds as she was hatched here.  Her legs still look bad but she will have to molt before they look right again.   :(

I've been absent for a while but I'm pleased to say life is getting back to normal.

Helping me back to normality are these little lovelies  :) they are 2 week old hybrids. They are Chryssie, Violet, Sweet Pea and Astra.

Can't wait to have a decent egg again!
