A real deal...

Am quite chuffed with myself today. Went into my local garden centre today as they're slowly reducing stuff for the season. Came across the corner where they have the really nice quality concrete benches with figured legs and edgings, and my eyes nearly popped when I saw one with a small chip out of the corner of the seat part and just marked down from $130 to $12. I hotfoot it to the cash desk and paid for it. A brick mason happened to be walking past and offered to load the pieces onto a pallet skid. The seat alone weighs about 100 lbs and he lifted it easily by himself so I talked him into lifting it into my car. The chap kindly agreed and did it. The bench was exactly the price I've always wanted to pay. And the chip can easily be repaired with some drilled holes, bolts, cement bond and vinyl patching concrete.  8)

You only need a hammer for these, Splodger    However, I didn't do it. The cashier said the bench was fine the day before so she wasn't sure how the chip happened. I can easily live with the chip as it gives me a 5 ft long bench to sit on under the large flowering cherry tree close to my veg garden. At last a shady rest spot! Now I can contemplate growth rates of my veggies.
