I have a jostaberry which I am thinking of moving to a shadier part of the garden.
Would this be a mistake ?

Sorry it is in a north facing bit but has sun most of the day.
The plan (stupid one ?) is to move to a place in a shade for most of the day.
Slightly darker than light woodland.
However where I am moving it to will be close to a pond so maybe it could be a better place thanks a lot.

Most varieties grow well in full sunshine, though partial daily shade should do them no harm. It is important to use good quality compost and watering and feeding regimes are essential in order to create a good crop.

I tend to agree, it would cope in shade like its parents but fruiting would probably be adversily effected.

BTW it won't be in total shade.  It just will not have direct light all day.
Ie it will have it from midday onwards.

Dappled shade, like something a tree casts, as in edge of woodland above, that's where most soft fruit naturally would grow in the wild, they like it.

No light or complete shade is another thing.

If it's in sunlight for half a day, most part of the year it should be OK.
