Thank you. I must be headed for jail then as I washed my garden tools in washing up liquid and dettol as I have blight on my plot.

I'm afraid that won't solve any blight problems :(

I wouldn't, but I did spray my broad beans with it to clear the blackfly.................and it worked. I've now eaten the evidence.

Have I understood correctly that:
1) it is only the use of an unlicensed remedy as a 'pesticide' or herbicide' applied directly to plants that makes it illegal? I'm assuming I can still set beer traps for slugs
2) the same ingredients used in a plant food or soil conditioner are legal?
eg. rhubarb leaves in pest control.v.rhubarb leaves in compost

It seems ridiculous that traditional remedies are outlawed yet big companies that produce legal herbicides are allowed to poison pastures, affecting the food chain for months possibly years and get away with it.

What you do under cover of darkness in the privacy of your own shed need never be known. ;)

I think you're just about correct and yes it is crazy.  but then most of the EU legislation is crazy but we may not go there - Politics is out of bounds.
