toadstools in my compost??

They are growing like mad in one raised bed there were 8 growing!!  anyone else ever had this, it was b&Q compost..

Are they in the compost or growing on the wood the raised bed is made from. It is quite common for the wood to grow some interesting fungi. :)

Its definatly the compost as the raised beds are bricks  :ohmy:

Your bin is obviously getting too much moisture and/or isn't draining at the bottom. Only thing you can do now is turn it often and fluff it up in the process. That will dry it out a bit and  disrupt the fungi.

i was shocked at the condition of that brand of compost this year.
i only use levingtons or humax.
the problem with fungal spores in bagged compost is down to the lack of heat generated in the initial composting process.
this would normally kill any spores or pathogens,but cheaper brands dont have the same quality control as more expensive brands.
as they say you get what you pay for.

I've had Levington's this year and have been appalled - everything from bits of plastic to mouldy lumps of wood and germinating weed seeds.  Will be making a push to make my own for next year...
