Title: Potato fruit
Post by: rockyracoon on July 09, 2010, 07:46
All my tatty plants have got tomato like fruit growing off them, what are they and do they mean the tatties are ready to harvest.  Never saw them on my last two crops, but I am still very much a novice at own grown.  Sorry if this has previously been asked and answered.

Thanks

RR

It's just a potato seed head...........they are poisonous if you have small children that may eat them.

I t depends on what potatoes they are...early, 2nds or maincrop, as to whether they are ready to harvest or not :)

Excellent news Mumofstig. I was wondering the same as I have a 3 and half year on on the plot with me a lot of the time, who had the 'don't touch those, they'll make you REALLY ill' talk, complete with very stern face and doom-laden voice  :D.

I shall be snipping away later this morning!
