Left over lamb from yesterday with a fridge clear out of let over potatoes and veg mashed up  and fried in patties.  Various pickles served with.  Satisfying but the fridge now looks a bit empty.  I'm sure it will fill up again soon.

Not disimilar growster!

One year, around the end of December, I bought a large joint of salt brisket, and slow cooked it in Guinness for a few hours.

It was just fantastic at the time, but the next time I opened a tin of corned beef, I couldn't tell the difference!

(BTW, Hawkhurst is famous for starting off OXO, corned beef etc, by a bloke called Gunther, who is buried just a few yards from 'The Turrets! Not a lot of people know that)!

Sweet potato wedges with veggie chilli. Recipe taken from the supplement that comes with the Sunday paper.  I'm not that keen on sweet potatoes but we have three in the fridge and it would use at least two of them up so I will ' suffer for my art' I think the saying is.

I've just counted about fifteen Sungold toms a-ripening, so it may - just may, be a bruschetta tomorrow...

It won't be a big one, so we'll ease ourselves into the race out to the GH first thing, peer around the door, and exclaim in a loud voice ...

YESSSSS!!
