Growing Mushrooms

I'm just about to start growing mushrooms obviously from scratch and I'm not sure exactly where or how to begin. I've got a disused shed in my garden or my garage will these conditions suffice? I've been and bought some manure today and i have an empty wooden box. That's as far as I am.
