Practical Poultry magazine - can you help?
« on: September 07, 2012, 15:32 »
I'm appealing to the chicken keepng community to see if you might be able to help out a group of school children. I'm a librarian in a secondary school in Sunderland, and a member of staff who aready keeps her own chickens is starting a project with some of our kids. We'll be raisng chicks in school, as well as building coops and so on.

We urgently need to get hold of some back issues of Practical Poultry magazine fo ibrary stock. Before I start ordering them from the publisher (which works out quite expensive) I wondered if there might be folk out there who have magazines they wish to be rid of.  I'm going to try our local Freegle groups as well.

We need about 20 copies, perhaps no more than 3 years old, and we would reimburse any postage costs.

If you can help us please get in touch.

Thanks for reading this message from an interloper!

I shall have a look, MIL gets it, then hands them on to me :) I may be a while.

I have May, Sept (without a front cover) Oct, Nov and Dec all 2011, I'll send them off next week if that's OK :D

Have you tried contacting the publisher to see if they are willing to donate back copies for a good cause?
As a former soldier, I can remember when in Afghan we used to write to publishers asking for support, which always responded with bundles/ sacks of reading material that would arrive at our base within a couple of weeks. They can only say no, however i think they will help you out.
