My new spud plants have been fine until now but all of a sudden the bottom leaves are rotting off and have gone yellow and the rest of the plant is going from a lush verdant green to a sickly lime green colour.
It's happened over a week or so. the King Edwards in the next patch are healthy as a butcher's dog. Any ideas? too much or too little water/food?
Would like to give them a couple of weeks before harvest.
Thanks in advance...

When did you plant them?
If they have been growing long enough then they are ready, and the foliage does start to die back.
You can leave them in...but you will lose the new potato taste :(

That's exactly what mine are doing and they are definately ready to eat. Thanks for the reminder to pull them up mum, got some leeks need to go in.

I am just back from a week's holiday and two of my pots of potatoes have turned yellow. It's a little earlier than I would have thought but I have harvested them anyway and the harvest wasn't great. My fault really for not feeding enough but they were really tasty and stayed nice during the cooking.
