On a caravan holiday and they have chickens free ranging on the adjacent field. The eggs are on sale in the site office for 40p each. You cannot beat a fresh egg.

£2.40 for half a dozen when the price mentioned on here is usually £1 for a half dozen.
Have not bought eggs for a while so not able to compare with supermarkets.

If they can get that price for their eggs then it's a case of supply and demand! 

If I was on a caravanning holiday and had the choice of fresh, free range eggs from the field next door, or battery hen eggs from a shop, I would pay 40p for the good eggs.  :)
