steaming compost
« on: March 26, 2011, 00:00 »
Is it the warm weather we've had or is it because I aerated the compost in the dalek a bit using one of those compost aerators? Or perhaps a mixture of both? My compost has suddenly become very hot and is heaving with worms again.

Probably a combination of the two.  It's warmed up generally this week, but by remixing the contents of the bin you're probably adding air and moisture around - thus increasing the composting activity
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
