Title: Verbena bonariensis

I have a small area of my garden given over to Verbena bonariensis which is each year is enjoyed by myself, the bees and the butterflies. There is nothing nicer than sitting in the evening sun with a glass of wine watching them enjoy the nectar. I have had them for a number of years and they have done well.

This year I am worried as none have started to grow yet. They were mulched over winter but it was a cold one.

Are they just late in appearing due to the cold spring or has the cold killed them  :(

Mine are just showing through, but we may have been a bit warmer than you, although the weather has been a bit topsy turvy this year.

My perennials are just beginning to come through so I wouldn’t worry just yet.

if the worst has happened, you will probably have a lo of seedlings around which will grow quickly to follow this year. Fingers crossed though, as there is still time for them to make an appearance
