frozen comfrey
« on: February 05, 2011, 10:28 »
I have recently moved to a new plot and I dug up some comfrey plants from the old plot, split them and potted them up to take with me. Last week I cleared enough space to put them in but when I tipped them out of their pots the soil they were planted in was frozen, although not the soil I was planting into. I thought they would probably be ok being as comfrey is pretty tough, but now the little green shoots that had been coming up are looking a little bit... dead. Do you think they will recover?

Tis a case of suck it and see, or more exact wait and see,   but I'd buy some more bocking 14 just in case.  Or you could go back and see if any of the parent plant still survives and take more clippings.   :D  Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

they are amazing plants and their powers of survival are amazing.  I think they'd come up again
