melon advice

i'm after a bit of information about melons, if anyone has had any experience.

i've grown melons this year and the biggest have reached a little smaller than the size of a small football, i don't think they will get any bigger than this as the nights are starting to get colder now.

my question is can i harvest them all now and leave the ones that aren't rip yet to ripen inside? if so what conditions would be best?

Some melon do not get bigger than that size anyway, depending on variety and on this climate in my very limited experience many will ripen smaller than to type on warmer climes.

It's a fruit that does not ripen in storage. Use in chutneys and pickles them unripe ones.

thanks for the advice.

i'm growing honey dew and Cantaloupe. just an experiment really, which went pretty well considering the very short season.

i will leave them as long as i can and hope they ripen up on the plant.
