Cranberry plants
« on: May 08, 2011, 12:38 »
I just received my order for 3 cranberry plants.

I would eventually like to get a good cropp from them.

The directions say, best grown in a pot of ericacious compost (sp) to cascade down the sides.
Or in the ground to spread about 1 metre. Will grow to about 8 inches in height

What I`d like to know is, what is everyones experience with them...are they easy to grow, tempremental...heavy croppers...or just basically ornamental.

Mine are doing very well and are quite easy provided you have acid soil.

I have a short variety called Stevens, and it's growing well - but not a cranberry in sight in 2 years.  >:(
