Mine just arrived thank you.  Do you think if I sowed them a mix of 50% compost and 50% sharp sand they might stand a chance?  Goodness knows I've tried and failed in my soil.

Don't see why not.

I've got fairly light soil down t'plot, but thought I'd try & hurry them up by sowing in grow bag compost in the greenhouse.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks DD
Just got mine and will get a stamp on way to work tonight and post payment. Fast delivery you will be giving on line retailers a bad name.

I'm going to try some in B&Q compost in tubs in the green house. Cant wait for early carrots in spring.
Seems easier to grow things over winter less pests and weather not that different..(in a greenhouse). :D

Jewsons or Wickes sell it
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Ditto B&Q and probably Homebase.  It often gets thrown away in skips and if you know any builders they might have some excess to requirements.

I did read somewhere that transplanting is one of the reasons for twisted mis shapen carrots, because of their fine root hairs or something.  Don't know if true or not.

Found where I read this
