Ribena Wine
« on: June 07, 2008, 20:15 »
Hi Everyone,  I read on here a couple of weeks ago about making Ribena Wine. I have had a go and I have two demijons going but I just can not get them to start bubbling. I boiled the Ribena for 10 mins as advised, what have I done wrong?  All advice welcome.

Thanks  :?

Did you wait till it had cooled before adding the yeast?
I've never made wine ( so far) but think I read that the yeast would be killed off by too high a temp?

Or you could try adding a couple of teaspoons of sugar to try & get it going ... think I read that too .. the sugar feeds or activates the yeast. Something along those lines.

Hi, Thanks for the tips. I will add some more sugar and see how I go. Strange thing is I made two demijons worth in one go, one demijon is bubbling like a goodan but the other has done nothing. It has stood now for two weeks without bubbling. Is it too late for this. How long can it stand without bubbling. Any more advise would be gratefully received.

Thanks
