Title: Sweetcorn in a strawberry patch
Post by: Titfertat on June 17, 2008, 16:30
I have strawbs in a 10' x 4' bed planted in three rows with each plant about 18" apart.  They have flowered nicely with some fruits forming well.

Have been given some freebie sweetcorn plants and have nowhere to put them so thought about slotting them in the gaps between the strawbs as the s/c won't cast much shade until after the strawbs have finished.

Anyone know whether these two will be compatible in a twist on the "3 sisters" method or will their dietary requirements differ too much?

I smell practical problems, like trodding on strbs to pick corn, uprooting strbs, when removing corn.

You try.
