If it's free, why do you have to give then your credit card details (to register)?
I've heard about too many so called free deals (where you still get billed) to bother with this one.
-
You just have to go through the program steps @ checkout. No hidden agenda! i have had free stuff from them before and there wasn't problem :)....it shows at the end zero price zero p&p charge, so that's what your card gets billed with zilch ..de nada 8)

Have ordered 1 lot thought i best be kind and leave some for others here hahahah
Thanks for the link

-
Thanks, ordered some for us too!
-
Nice one ;)
-
Just ordered mine, thank you :)
-
:)
As far as entering your credit card details, I think someone else has already mentioned, this is part of the online ordering process, you get an email confirmation with a balance of £0.00, you also get a statement upon delivery showing the zero balance... it would be illegal for the company to take any other funds from your account. ;)
I wonder if these 'mistakes' are deliberate in order to shift excess stock? Although you would in that case expect there to be a postage charge...
Either way, worth scanning through the listings from time to time - and of course sharing with the group! :D

I wonder if these 'mistakes' are deliberate in order to shift excess stock?
I believe that these are deliberate mistakes as a way to get new customers. I have never ordered from them before, but I bet that I now get loads of brochures through the door from them ::)
-
That's great thanks for the link. I have ordered mine too.
-
Stuck my order in, dont know where I am going to fit them in though
-
Anyone had some delivered yet? I've had confirmation of the order saying it's been passed to the dispatch department. Whilst I've bought Mr Fothergill's seeds before - this has been done in a shop rather than order online. I'm used to ordering bits and bobs from online cycling shops that are *fast* at getting stuff sent, rather than ordering from plant-type companies. So are they likely to be delivered in a couple of days, couple of weeks? Any experiences?
-
Orderd mine and some sugar peas thanks for the tipoff
-
Thanks!
Just placed an order for mine together with some sweetcorn seeds :) :)
-
My spuds arrived this morning. I'm impressed. Pretty good delivery.

-
Not with letters :)

Ahh well was a good idea ;)

My ordinary postman comes in a van...
-
Mine came today by the postie he left them at number 39 as we were out.
-
Mine landed this morning :)
-
Mine were waiting for me when I got home, very impressed
-
Got mine today,
But the postie did not deliver them. he left them in the sorting office for me when I got to work, caus i'm a postie too.
-
Typical, I was first in and I haven't got mine... >:( ::) :D
-
Got mine via normal postie.
Thanks Scabs

Yup mine were on my desk waiting for me this morning :D
Hope yours arrive soon Scabs
-
Yep thanks, we've got ours and they're a decent sized spud
-
mine came this morning too, might have to hide them from hubby though as we already have 6 lots of seed potatoes!!!
-
Mine came yesterday - good spuds too!
excellent - thanks again!
-
Got mine yesterday too via the postman. They look good.................thanks again :D
-
Mine came today, can't believe they were completely free! Well done for the link!
-
They came! :)
-
yay
-
Posties must be slow in your area Scabs
-
They're a blooming nightmare, tbh. They don't arrive until past midday and some days we get no mail whatsoever - I think they let it pile up!
I bought a Raleigh Grifter a few years ago and the postie actually admitted to me that the lads in the sorting office had opened it a bit to have a peek!
Apologies to any posties on here, but what a bunch of b*******.
-
Put mine in egg boxes to start chitting and noticed half are damaged, but complaining about the quality of something that was free is just too cheeky even for me ;)
-
Same here Lee.....didn't mention it on here for same reason.
But hey ho still enough for a tub or two 8)
-
Now showing as £10 for 10 tubers
-
:) got mine on friday
-

Perhaps that's why they were free? Although, I checked mine last night and they look fine.
I now keep scanning Fothergill's listings for similar 'mistakes'! :D
-
Mine came today too - thanks scabs :)
I'd forgotten all about them though, so when they arrived I spent hours scratching my head & thinking "I don't remember buying those" - had actually convinced myself that I must've bought them sometime in a drunken stupor
And as janeymiddlewife said, they're now £10 for 10 tubers - obviously hoping to recoup some losses, though I doubt they'll sell many at that price! On Googling I found this has been going on since January, on forums all over....so just think how many free taters they've sent out - and been kind enough to pay p&p themselves, too!
The mind boggles. I feel a bit guilty, actually  but looking forward to trying them anyway!
(I bet the webmaster copped it!)
-
:D
-
Got em, they sit in an egg box in the garage as i type
-
Yup mine arrived too, although I was a little sceptical as the sweetcorn seeds I ordered at the same time arrived within a couple of days there was no sign of the seed potatoes. Then lo and behold a nice neat box marked 'live plants, handle with care' appeared in the hands of my postie a week later :)
A couple of them are a little battered they are snuggly nestled in egg boxes and beginning to chit :)
(Now all I need to do is figure out where I can find the room for them!)
-
I ordered two packes by mistake and guess what???? I got two packs in the post.
Brilliant.
It is the tomato seeds and wall planner that I have not received.
Hazem
-
Mine have just arrived today, sorted
-
I gave mine away to a friend this weekend who I took pity on ::) ::)
Guess I had more than my small garden needed anyway :D
-
Missed out on the spuds but needed some seeds and was impressed no p&p was charged, plus two fee mystery packets of seed......wonder what I'll get
