I have some brassica cages made from plastic water pipe and fine netting, built by putting a short section of bamboo canes along the bed both sides at regular intervals then sliding the pipe onto the canes. The problem is that the pipes quickly flop over because they are flexible, and I have nothing to put through the whole pipe to make it stiff. What methods to people use to build a cage from one inch water pipe and make sure the whole structure stays in shape? This is for a bed at ground level (i.e. not a raised bed).

I tie wrap a long cane to the top of each hoop.

Mine have canes tied from hoop to hoop as well, for a stronger version try this

That's a nice design, might use that myself.

Mumnofstig, that looks like a good solid structure. I should be able to build a reinforcement using some canes cut to size and plenty of twine. I'll have a go tomorrow.

Hello I use to use the same method but used roof latches with 4 nails knocked through at the width of the pipe just put them across the top use long enough nails the nails hold the net right as well jezza
