Carrot cake results.
« on: November 01, 2014, 09:35 »
By request (as I know you're all tired of looking at my cooking results).

Carrot cake to Mrs Bee recipe, dressed and undressed  ::)  Once the cake has been cut I'll grab a inside view so you can see the texture of the cake. I've already cheated and made 2 muffin sized ones from the leftover batter  ;)

Well done you :D :D :D

Easy isn't it, once you have a good recipe.

Do you have a fan oven or ordinary? You might want to  reduce the temperature on your oven slightly. It looks as if your oven may cook hotter than mine.

The mascarpone icing works well doesn't it? Cream cheese is always a tricky beast to make into icing.

have you tasted it yet? :D :D :D

Here's the all important texture picture.  ;)

The oven is a bag of nails- the temperature gauge is a joke, +/- 25C depending on how it feels. I scorched the top as I'd just put it back in for a few mins and the phone rang, I manage to catch it before it tainted the cake though.

It went down very well... I'll be tinkering with a few things and let you know  :)

The trouble with carrot cake is it seems to evaporate. ::)

Well it does in my house and hand on heart I make the cakes but I don't eat them. I just like making them.

Tiny sliver to test new recipes and that is that.

So that only leaves Mr Bee.

I make the smoked salmon evaporate. ::)

Enjoy tinkering with the recipe Mr Lardman.  :)
